• In all three issues there is a Running Gag of three different individuals — Mister Miracle's pal Oberon; Amanda Waller; and Batman after he stops a supervillain riot single-handed — involved with the invasion being cornered by some clueless reporter and having a microphone shoved in their face while being asked 'Can we get a comment?' Their response?
  "Get that @!&*! camera out of my face!!"
  • In the Animal Man tie-in^note before the Continuity Snarl, after Animal Man suffers a Heroic BSoD from being unable to shut down a very advanced Thanagarian bomb, Katar Hol shows up and tells him to simply turn off the switch.
  • Metamorpho shows up in the hospitals after the metagene goes off, angrily insisting he has no idea what's going on, but only has a headache and should be joining the fight. After being told he'd died the previous year and the bomb resurrected him, he decides that maybe the doctors are right after all.
