• Keep Circulating the Tapes: While the main story was collected back in 2016, neither the "First Strike" stories, which showcased the early battles and the lead up to the events of issue #2, nor the "Aftermath" stories, which showcased the aftermath of the war and the lead up to the Gene Bomb detonation, have been collected. Of notable absences is Doom Patrol (Volume 2) #17-18, which sets up the stage for Grant Morrison's iconic run, and Superman (Volume 2) #26-27 and Adventures of Superman #448-450, which sets the stage for the Superman: Exile storyline.
• Referenced by...: Issue #245 of the Australian-era Uncanny X-Men is both a Stag Party issue and a Whole-Plot Reference to Invasion: a horde of various alien conquerors invades Earth starting with Australia, just when Logan, Piotr, and the other guys go bar-crawling. Hilarity Ensues. The story even has a simultaneous Take That! at both the Distinguished Competition and the X-Men's own narrative sins with the "Jean Bomb" — a superweapon that looks like Jean Grey in a jar and is said to "fatally disrupt any and all relationships".
