As dark as this series is, it is going to be lacking in humour, but it is not non existent.
Season 1, Episode 1
- Just the fact that M.K. is introduced while in a trunk.
- The first meeting between Sunny and M.K. can provoke some laughs, including M.K. lampshading Sunny's non-indicative name:M.K.: "You got a name? Or do you just show up, kill people, and leave?"Sunny: "If I tell you, will you shut up?"M.K.: "Can't make any promises."Sunny: "Sunny"M.K.: "Sunny? Why, 'cause you brighten everybody's day?"Sunny: "Dig."
- The fact that Veil is teaching Sunny, an assassin with hundreds of kills on his back, to read using The Cat in the Hat.
Season 2, Episode 5
- Bajie reminisces about a wild birthday party where he got blackout drunk and woke up totally naked. Turns out it was his eleventh birthday.
Season 1, Episode 3
- "She'll be the one running for her life."
Season 3, Episode 4
- A cannibal imprisons Sunny, Bajie, and Moon for the night, saying "Don't worry. I'll wake you up for breakfast." And Bajie sincerely laughs at his joke.
Season 3, Episode 6
- While Bajie gets into a fight to protect his ex-wife, Sunny just sits down and enjoys a drink.
- Better still, among the "weapons" Bajie uses during this fight are an entire octopus and a DURIAN.
Season 3, Episode 10
- While hiding out in a department store, Sunny puts a mannequin in a wheelchair and argues with it as if it were Waldo.
Season 3, Episode 11
- Cressida comes to visit Lydia and Nathaniel and, before she leaves, tells them to replace the Widow's butterfly banners with Pilgrim's. A tense political confrontation ending with an offhand remark about interior decorating.
