  • Discovering that the containment system in the Firehouse is nearly full, the obvious question fans have discussed for years, namely that if anyone was considering the longterm ramifications of imprisoning an entire city's worth of ghosts, comes up.
Janine: It was the 80s, nobody was thinking about the future.
  • Melody, a ghost, being utterly dumbfounded by Phoebe's blasé reaction to her existence, as people usually run and scream when they see her. She even tries to spell out why it would be weird to Phoebe, who continues to shrug it off.
  • Ray being just as scared of the library ghost as he was 40 years ago.
    • The fact that Ray even stops to approach the library ghost while in the middle of chasing the possessor spirit. It's almost as if he's thinking "maybe this time it will be different?" before he's once again sent running as the ghost angrily lunges at him.
  • Turns out that when the firehouse was abandoned, Slimer began squatting in the attic and even now is stealing the Spenglers' junk food. Trevor has multiple encounters with him throughout the movie, the first being Slimer flying through him and getting him covered from his neck down—with the next one cutting away before we even see how much Trevor gets covered then.
    • Crossed with Awesome: This all culminates in Slimer defeating the Possessor by eating it when it inhabits a pepperoni pizza.
    Trevor: I know that guy!
  • Ray and Podcast's new show is people bringing in possibly haunted items and having them evaluated. One old lady brings in her late husband's watch. When Ray determines the watch is not haunted, Podcast smashes it with a hammer because "The hammer is what gets the views."
  • Podcast's parents think he's at space camp. How does he sell the lie? By playing a recording of a rocket launch in the background when they call him.
  • The Mini-Pufts crawling around the Paranormal Research Centre, still destroying each other for the fun of it.
  • The Possessor spirit acting like an ill-behaved pet, possessing a folding chair and banging it against the window of its containment unit like a dog begging to be let outside. Apparently they even give it a tennis ball to possess and play with if it behaves.
  • When Phoebe is livid at Callie, she denounces her as not "a scientist but a-":
Callie: Choose your next words very carefully.
    [Smash Cut]
Gary: I didn't think she even knew those words.
    • Later happens again with Peck, where he essentially gives Phoebe a choice between holding her tongue or being arrested. Whatever she ended up saying to him, one Smash Cut later and Phoebe is in handcuffs.
  • Grooberson is still a Ghostbusters fanboy, and it still annoys Callie.
Grooberson: Bustin' makes me feel good.
    Callie: Nope.
Grooberson: It makes me feel good!
  • Nadeem shows the Ghostbusters his grandmother's hidden vault which they teasingly call a sex dungeon, and every item they find only convinces them further.
  • Nadeem lampshading that he has a pasta collandernote  on his head during an interview. Also doubles as a Call-Back.
  • After noticing a Bunsen burner's flame alter depending on Nadeem's mood, Venkman begins repeatedly chucking pens at the poor sap to see if the flame becomes even more intense, much to Nadeem's confusion and irritation (as the Bunsen burner is behind him).
  • One of the tapes Dr. Wartzki has in his possession is of Mary Todd Lincoln uttering the f-word, apparently having seen a moth.
  • Venkman's warning to the others when Garraka arrives at the firehouse.
Venkman: Heads up! Tall, dark and horny at 12:00!
  • During the tense showdown between Garraka and the Ghostbusters, Nadeem comes down the firepole in full Firemaster armor...and gets stuck. It takes several long seconds for him to get down to the floor as everyone looks on.
  • Nadeem tries to talk Garraka into leaving peacefully, and when it refuses, snaps off the Badass Boast "I gave you a chance," flicks his lighter...and nothing happens. He keeps flicking it, no fire, nothing.
Trevor: Dude, you used all the lighter fluid?
Nadeem: You told me to practice!
    • He then asks if anyone else has a light. Ray says he quit smoking thirty years ago. While also heartwarming, Venkman's "This Is Gonna Suck" tone is still funny:
Venkman: Proud of you then, proud of you now.
  • Peck gets ready to come down on the Ghostbusters once again even after they defeated Garraka. He then has to change his tune when the other New Yorkers rally behind them, with one guy even calling him “Dickless”.
    • Crossed with Heartwarming: Despite the unbelievably bitter animosity in the past, Venkman warmly and charmingly greeting Peck—even if he's just doing it to spite him—is definitely not the expected reaction and is worthy of a laugh on its own.
  • In The Stinger, a truck pulls into a gas station, and the driver goes to get a soda from a machine, not noticing his truck beginning to drive off on its own. He soon notices and chases after it, when we see who is driving the truck: the Mini Pufts, and to top it off, the truck is carrying Stay Puft Marshmallows.
