• When Hudner meets the other pilots of his new squadron, a couple of them remark on his good looks:
  Koenig: Gents, this is Tom Hudner. We were in Pensacola together. Hell of a stick.
  Goode: Hell of a pretty face, too.
  Lavery: Almost too pretty.
  Hudner: You boys sound lonely!
• When the squadron receives their new Corsair fighters, they come out to the flightline to find Commander Cevoli lounging in a folding chair, reading a newspaper, paying no mind to the fighter plane taxiing up behind him.
• A bit of Meta Humor: Fans joked about Glen Powell managing to get type-cast as a naval aviator with both this film and Top Gun: Maverick being released in the same year. Further, in both films his character manages to shoot down a next-generation fighter jet, although in this film's case, it's a first generation fighter jet.
