Ryota's anime + The Despair Sisters as his audience = this.

Despite all the horror, tragedy, and shocking whammies, don't let those distract you from the fact that there are genuinely funny moments in Danganronpa 3: The End of Hope's Peak High School.

     Side:Future
Episode 1
  • The Future Foundation branch leaders arguing over Bandai's use of Ice Cream Koans:
Bandai: They're my own personal sayings. They don't mean anything.
Andou: Then stop saying them all the time! Your voice doesn't match your body, and it's creepy!
    Bandai: Creepy...
    Izayoi: Ruruka's right.
    Bandai: I'm blushing.
    Andou: That's not a compliment!
Bandai: A chanting monk doesn't know his own parents, right?
Andou: Stop getting off topic, damn it! I said you aren't making any sense!
Tengan: Oh my... We can't have a conference like this.
  • Yasuhiro laments the loss of yet another crystal ball. This one appears to have cost him 300 million yen!
  • It's dark but some of the actions of the Remnants of Despair, seen in the opening, are quite hilarious. Like Ibuki and Hiyoko's concert patrons - all either members of Ultimate Despair or brainwashed followers - waving glowsticks in the air and cheering like it's an ordinary idol concert.
    • Or the fact that while Sonia's rallying her followers, Mahiru's constantly taking pictures like some kind of despair paparazzi.

Episode 2

  • Munakata suggests that everyone should point to the person they think is the traitor. Kizakura points to Gekkogahara. His reason?
    Kizakura: Just a hunch.
    • And Episode 4 reveals that he was actually right. Though episode 7 turns that around and confirms Monaka was a red herring.
    • Another pretty funny moment is when one realizes that during the voting, Seiko was actually pointing at Ruruka, while Ruruka and Sonosuke were pointing at Seiko. Makoto just had the misfortune of standing between them.
  • In episode 2, Makoto's forbidden action is revealed to be running in the halls, which leads to him being given a piggyback by Aoi as the pair frantically try to outrun Munakata and Sakakura.
    • And then Gozu lends a hand by carrying Makoto around like a sack of potatoes.
  • While is heartwarming, Gozu's method of cheering Makoto up is...unique to say the least:
Gozu: So what are you getting so down for? (starts yelling directly in Makoto's face) Cheer up! Have some faith! Got that, asshole?
    • When he orders Makoto to cheer up, he also slaps him on the back so hard that the poor guy nearly gets driven into the ground.
  • While it's not intentional, Monomi's English voice in the dub comes off as cringe-worthingly funny.

Episode 3

  • Kyoko uses the NG Actions to explain how hard it is to trust people in their current situation to Mitarai. She then consoles Mitarai that the distrust he feels is normal and only a huge softie would reveal their NG Action to everyone. Cue Makoto doing just that.
  • In a rather Meta moment, Aoi's fakeout especially since the fandom was pissed.

Episode 4

  • Monokuma offers a recap of events for anyone who might be lost because "they stopped watching after Episode 3." Taking Side:Despair into account, he's likely referring to Asahina's fakeout death and the fans' response.
  • "Please note: Hagakure-kun's stuck outside because nobody likes him."
  • Miaya, no. Talking here is not a free action. You had it coming when Juzo managed to get a free shot.
  • At one point in the dub, Monomi says, "My body is ready!"
  • Seeing the short and seemly frail Tengan easily defeat the tall and muscular Juzo is both awesome and hilarious.

Episode 6

  • Komaru trying to get Toko to use shampoo.
  • At the beginning of the episode, Hiro proudly predicts that this story will have a happy ending based on his 30% accuracy rate.
  • Kizakura trying to mess with Kyoko as they walk together, and Kyoko's annoyance at him, even walking in the opposite direction.
  • Monaca is momentarily surprised when Asahina calls her a "warrior of hope."

Episode 7

  • Touko's fantasy about Togami, which ends with them about to boink and have their 19th kid in front of a crudely drawn Komaru. We're then treated to a Cutaway Gag with Byakuya, feeling incredibly disturbed as if he felt it.
  • Monaca becoming disillusioned with both hope and despair and wanting nothing to do with either just because Nagito's constant insane rambling made her decide that she didn't want to end up as crazy as him.
  • Similarly, Monaca deciding she want nothing to do with Earth anymore, and launching herself into space to become a NEET. No, really.
  • Monaca's answer when asked if she was gonna tell Komaru and Touko who was going to die next?
Monoca: Nah. Google it up, shitlord!
    • When Genocide Jack threatens Monaca into talking, Monaca's response to fart in her face, prompting the annoyed serial killer to attack her, only to be held back by Komaru.

Episode 8

  • Kyoko being incredibly blase about licking saliva from a corpse.
  • When Juzo enters, a book is thrown at him. His reaction in the English dub is hilarious.
    Juzo: Really...

Episode 9

  • Monokuma starts the episode by saying it's going to be a recap before admitting he was lying and it was just another quick summary of the recent episodes. Which includes him calling Togami "Glasses McDorkface" before correcting himself.
  • Kyoko and Mitarai are looking for Naegi when Mitarai doubts that Naegi could make that big of a difference. As Kyoko states his good points, she notices Mitarai seeing something and sees a blushing Naegi and a very happy Asahina behind her. She quickly faces away from them and clears her throat.
  • When the Time Limit is almost up, Makoto and Ryota fail to move some heavy thing to create a barricade, which Asahina then moves effortlessly.
  • Juzo finds Miayabot "killed" by Munakata, and he doesn't even seem surprised that she's a robot.
    Juzo: Oh, you got one.

Episode 10

  • When Naegi tries to attack Munakata with a fire extinguisher, he finds out that it's still defective, and Munakata deflects it into a pile of rubble. He declares that Naegi's luck has run out...when the fire extinguisher starts on its own, then rockets out of the pile and hits Munakata in the head.
    • Speaking of, it's rather funny to see Naegi charging heroically at Munakata, fire extinguisher in hand...only for Munakata to kick him once and send him crumpling over, gasping for breath.

Episode 11

  • A piece of dark humour comes out of Naegi confronting his guilt over the deaths from the events from the first game. While some are serious (Celes being on fire, for example), Owada was literally turned into butter.

Episode 12

  • We check in on Monaca, still alive in zero gravity and brainwashed by Ryota's hope video.

     Side:Despair
Episode 1
  • The very first line in the arc could be considered a darkly humorous one:
Chisa Yukizome: (sounding disappointed) Aw, I died.
  • Yukizome confidently telling Principal Kirigiri that she can handle her first teaching job, hitting her chest a bit too hard in doing so.
Yukizome: Leave it to me- (hits chest, then starts gasping for breath offscreen) Excuse me for that!
  • Yukizome introduces herself to the class:
Yukizome: Starting today, I'm your teacher, Chisa Yukizome. Nice to meet you!
Hiyoko: Oh, this one looks like she'll be fun to break. Her social position, her organs, her life, and more!
Yukizome: (holds up several medical pamphlets) Don't you worry. Your teacher has lots of medical insurance!
    • And from the Dub:
Hiyoko: Ooo, this one looks like she'll be fun to break. What d'you think will go first; her social life, her health, or her sanity?
Yukizome: *cheerfully* Do your worst kiddo! I doubled down on health insurance before I took this job.
Sonia: Thou art nothing if not formidable.
Mahiru: That isn't ... really how we talk.
  • This conversation:
Kuzuryu: Hold on, where did Kizakura go?! He's our homeroom teacher.
Yukizome: (cheerfully) Mr. Kizakura is hung over and vomiting.
    • It evidently wasn't a one-off occurrence, either.
Fuyuhiko: Again? What the hell is wrong with that man?
    • In the Dub:
Yukizome: He's nursing a bad hangover, that he's barfing as we speak!
    Fuyuhiko: Freakin' lush.
  • When Yukizome finds out that most of the 77th class doesn't regularly attend class, she calls them rotten Mikans (Tangerines) to everyone's confusion, but Mikan takes it as a personal attack and is depressed as a result. Every time Yukizome uses the phrase we get a shot of an upset Mikan.
    • In the dub, this bit is lost since she simply calls them rotten oranges instead, but Mikan still gives us this gem when Yukizome is calling them all “moldy and sticky and squishy”.
    Mikan: I’m sorry I’m squishy!
  • Yukizome threatening Fuyuhiko, the Ultimate Yakuza, with a knife. And it works.
    • She does this again towards Kazuichi when he refuses to clean the classroom before she looks for "Ryouta Mitarai" and Chiaki Nanami.
  • Nekomaru managing to take a shit so epic, it launches the men's room door, Hiyoko, and Mahiru down one hallway; and the toilet bowl through a wall, tearing up a nearby hill.
Nekomaru: Sorry, I had a real tough one to push out today.
Yukizome: You damaged the facilities a little too much.
Nekomaru: Yeah, sorry about that. I just let it rip a bit too hard.
Fuyuhiko: That's more than just "a bit"!
    • In the English dub, due to the sudden earthquakes, Mikan assumes it's like Jurassic Park. When the 'explosion' kicks in, Nekomaru yells out this after the explosion:
      Nekomaru: MORE LIKE JURASSIC SHIIIIIITTTT!!!
    • The accompanying title card shows a pixelated Hiyoko bouncing off of a downed Mahiru, as everyone else walks away.
  • How the class coerces Teruteru into joining class: using Sonia as bait, asking for a meat dish.
Teruteru: Do you like yours hard? (camera zooms in, with his nose bleeding more noticeably) Or hot? (camera zooms in more) Or thick? (Smash Cut to Teruteru suspended from the ceiling by ropes, held by Yukizome)
    • Also, the fact that he reacts in ecstasy whenever she or Nekomaru pull the ropes.
Teruteru: Oh, I can work with this! Just give it a yank.
Nekomaru: I'm not doing this to get your rocks off!
  • Nekomaru and Akane's fight across the campus, which somehow creates explosions.
    • The fact that Akane has to be crucified to restrain her, and that she remains like this until they find Ibuki. Also the aftermath of this in the English dub:
Sonia: Another classmate brought back to the fold!
Owari: I’M GONNA KICK YOUR ASSES SO HAAAAARD!
    Yukizome: Go, Nidai!
  • Sonia flash stepping away from Kazuichi every few seconds. He doesn't take it well.
    Kazuichi: Does the oil stink?
Sonia: (Flash Step) No, not the oil.
Kazuichi: (violently shaking as Sonia flash steps further away) I-is it me?!
  • The fact that the Animal Shed looks more like a demonic temple.
  • Ibuki's Death Metal performance while using her flamethrower-guitar to barbecue some food. She soon realized that Yukizome and the students are there. But the best part is the students' reaction to her music. Mahiru and Hiyoko seem to love it, Akane, who seems to be released, drooling over the food, Teruteru faints while foaming bubbles from his mouth while the rest of the students shows a mixed reaction of disgust and agony towards the music. Yukizome, on the other hand, takes out her own guitar while doing the same pose as Ibuki. What they say afterwards is all kinds of funny.
    • Subbed version:
    Ibuki: No Music!
    Chisa: No Hormones!
    • Dubbed version:
Ibuki: Let's stick it to the man!
    Chisa: By attending class!
  • Teruteru comments that his "door of sexuality" is open. Promptly followed by Yukizome sending him through a wall with a kendo stick.
    Teruteru: The pain is delicious!
  • Kazuichi gets sent flying by a runaway truck. Said truck lands on top of a vending machine Nagito is trying to buy a soda from, which promptly spits out all of its drinks.
Nagito: Oh! I really am lucky, after all.
    • While trying to find Nagito, Kazuichi sits down on the wall and refuses to move, even when Chisa tries to make him, stating that "Whenever he's around, I always get hurt!" Followed by his pissed reaction as he's punted through the sky by the truck, which randomly pops up out of nowhere;
    Kazuichi: Nagiiittttttoooooo!!!
  • Two of Tanaka's hamsters brandish miniature brooms to clean the classroom.
    • The final title card: you can see Teruteru jumping with joy next to a downed Mikan, who has just tripped. No points for guessing why he's so happy.
  • Yukizome somehow managing to outmaneuver "Ultimate Animator...? Ryouta Mitari" (actually the Ultimate Impostor) by teleporting from the front door to the back window. As well as the fact that she can effortlessly drag him around by his foot (remember, he's pretty hefty). The English dub dialogue sells it as well.
Yukizome: (knocking on his room door) No excuses. Get out here pronto. Chop Chop Mitarai!
Impostor: Urrr... Time to make my daring escape!
However he's shocked to see Yukizome already outside his window.
Impostor: Wait! What?! Weren't you at the front door? But how?
Yukizome: Funny how that works. Morale of the story: "Don't try to ditch your teacher!"
  • Chiaki collides into Hajime, and doesn't realize it for a few seconds because she's too absorbed with her game.
  • Yukizome managing to effortlessly drag the Ultimate Impostor on the ground and carry Chiaki over her shoulder.
    • Chiaki continues to play her game while flung over Yukizome's shoulder. Then, also funny and adorable, she waves goodbye to Hajime while still playing her game.
  • The return of long-nosed Ibuki, who talks in a deeper voice for added humor.
  • Nagito may still feel like he's worthless, but even he admits "Cleaning is the one thing I'm good at."

Episode 2

  • The effect of Teruteru's doping corn soup on Akane transforms her that she has more muscles and her hair going up like Gon.
  • While Nekomaru and Akane were fighting, most of the students went to the side of the classroom so as not to be caught in the middle of it, except for Chiaki, Nagito, and "Ryota" who remain in their seats. Chiaki continues to play her video games (until a small piece lightly bounce off her head, making her lose her game), "Ryota" is busy working on an animation, and Nagito just sits there and smiles as debris goes flying past his head.
    • Even funnier when you notice that Nagito's not moving, and yet every bit of debris seems to brush right past him, grazing his hair at most. Guy really is lucky.
  • Hajime is lying on a bench by the fountain, staring into the sky and thinking to himse-
Chisa (suddenly appears from off-screen) Hinata-kun!
  • The entire moment where Yukizome and the students are playing video games while taking a break from repairing the classroom.
    • Nagito, Kuzuryu, Hanamura and Kazuichi are playing some sort of retro video game board where Kazuichi nearly reaches the end and is the richest among the four while Nagito is the poorest who ends up having the Poverty god. However, during his turn, Nagito's luck manages to make Nagito win with an upset comeback while giving Kazuichi the Poverty god and losing all his in-game money.
      • From the dub:
Nagito: My luck was bound to run out someday, right? *suddenly rolls twelve sixes at once in the game* This .. is awkward.
Kazuichi: How the hell did you roll a sixty?!
Nagito: I'm sorry. I guess my luck is still good for awhile.
Fuyuhiko: You dropped the poverty god on Souda and beat him to the finish.
Kazuichi: My beautiful money. No. *his in-game money reaches somewhere around negative nine trillion*
    • Yukizome, Nanami, Hiyoko and Ibuki are playing a racing game expy to Mario Kart until Ibuki's race kart was knocked into the river by Hiyoko's power-up. However, the moment she gets back up... Hiyoko gets another power-up and REVERSES her kart to knock Ibuki back into the river.
    • Mikan, Sonia, Chiaki, and Mahiru are playing Bomber Guy (with Mahiru commenting on how no boys are playing), and Mikan quickly panics and bombs everything.
  • When Teruteru brings in lunch, the building starts shaking. Gundham fears a demon king has crawled out of the depths to wreak havoc:
Nekomaru, holding up an excessively drooling Akane: Her stomach's growling.
  • When Chiaki tries some lunch, she gasps lightly as a golden background pops up, and:
    Chiaki: I've had better.
Teruteru: That's all I get after you make that face?!
Akane: Thirds! *holds out plate from offscreen* Do it man!
Teruteru: (*nervous*) Maybe you should try this thing called 'chewing'.
  • Hilarity ensues after Hiyoko slipped Teruteru's "Love Love Soup" into everybody's food. Yukizome and the students find themselves in an erotic daze, leading to some very hysterical moments.
    • Nekomaru picking Akane up by her head. Also, Akane's stomach growls so loudly it causes an earthquake!
    • There's something hilarious about how, even in lovey-dovey mode, Akane still refers to Nekomaru as "old man".
    • Mikan wanting to "borrow" Peko's sword...specifically, the tip...
    • Kazuichi is worried about Sonia and wants to go help her...by screaming "Sonia-San!" at the top of his lungs and unzipping the top of his jump-suit while trying to walk towards her. Fuyuhiko, who's barely able to stand up and looks like he's drunk, blocks his path and starts yelling at him for acting indecent and zips his suit back up again, resulting in a repeated tug-of-war with Kazuichi screaming Sonia's name and unzipping and Fuyuhiko rezipping and telling him to knock it off. Peko keeps trying to get up and pull out her sword to go protect Fuyuhiko, but keeps getting knocked down by an...enthusiastic Mikan jumping on top of her.
    • Mahiru trying to take sexy selfies.
    • Gundam kneeling on the floor, gripping his right arm while muttering to himself. about not "doing it in public"
    • Everyone is sexing it up due to the aphrodisiacs... And then you see Nagito sitting in a corner, rambling about how hope feels awesome while looking stoned as hell.
DeathlyTaco: A literal “Hope Boner”. A literal “Hope Boner”! ...I have no words. NicoB, you Magnificent Bastard...
    • Also Teruteru's next celebrity name drop out as he got Shoryuken'd by Chiaki: "TAYLOR SWIFT!!"
  • During the next day, everybody was left worn out by the side effects of the aphrodisiac, with the exception of Yukizome and Sonia, the former being just as energetic as every. When asked by Kazuichi why Yukizome seems to be unaffected by the side effects, her response is that she is an adult, so this isn't the first time she had this experience. Sonia states it's probably the same for her.
    • The faces Gundham and Kazuichi make at Nagito's hope speech. Some things never change...
    • Also, in the same scene, the Four Dark Devas of Destruction are stacked in a tower on top of Gundham's head.
    • When the camera switches to Nagito's point of view, we can see Akane, Nekomaru and "Ryota's" annoyed expressions, while Chisa and Chiaki just look confused.

Episode 3

  • Hajime asks Chiaki if they can play a different game, Chiaki gives a Little "No" with a slightly annoyed expression, and tells him that they are playing co-op, which Hajime reluctantly agrees to.
  • Yukizome and Sakakura are talking about their duty to investigate the dark side of Hope's Peak and dramatic music begins playing...only to come to an abrupt halt as Yukizome says she's not giving up Munakata to him.
  • The Funny Background Event at the beginning of the episode, where we see one of the Dark Devas of Destruction bite Kazuichi on the hand as they walk toward the school, not to mention Mikan's worried expression afterwards.
  • Despite how dickish Juuzo's rant came off to the audience and Hajime (intentionally so), the beginning of the dub version of the rant had people in tears:
Juuzo: So you want the truth, don't ya? In that case, hold on to your ass.

Episode 4

  • Andou's treats are so delicious they turn a group of judges with translucent blue designs, to fully drawn character designs that are normally only given to notable characters.
  • So how does Nagito responds when he sees a puppy grow several stories tall after drinking the drugs he had? He just gives a deadpan response that the drugs he had in his possession were not laxatives.
  • Nagito giving away a little too much information as to why he needs the laxatives (claiming he's been constipated all week), all with that same cheerful smile. It doesn't help when he later encounters Seiko, who asks him if the laxatives worked, and he tells her "thanks to you, it all came right out". Her joy at this is disturbing, adorable and hilarious.
  • Also that the anime never actually tells us what Nagito's plan was. Somehow the steps to both pass the exam AND get the exam canceled so that his depressed classmates couldn't accidentally screw it up and get kicked out involved a dozen or so little cups of laxatives and a BOMB. His luck makes his plan go sideways (while still technically succeeding on both goals) but at no point do we find out what exactly he was expecting to happen.

Episode 5

  • The ending to the previous episode made it look like the anime would spend the next few episodes detailing Yukizome in the Reserve Course and her class without her. It then skips through this time period in less than a minute, with Yukizome giving an over-the-top narration that derails into a few non sequiturs.
  • Mukuro appears with ominous narration describing her role in future events and referring to her as the smelly one of the despair sisters. Then the camera pulls back and she asks why Junko is talking like that.
    • Junko casually blowing up a taxi? Probably going to be grim for the viewer. Junko gleefully trying to stab and blow up Mukuro while discussing the latter's freckles and body odor as Mukuro basks in the despair? Hilarious.
  • Sonia and Gundham talking in sync, and Kazuichi's response to this.
  • Mikan assuming that being taken away by the Ultimate Impostor will end up as "an illicit development on late-night television". Hell, there's something funny about the Impostor's solution to helping Mitarai: kidnap the Ultimate Nurse, of course! Not to mention he apparently bridal carried Mikan the whole way there.
  • A taller Hiyoko tells Yukizome that she can finally fulfill her dream: to inflict more harm to Mikan.
Mikan: What sort of wish is that?!
  • A meta example: after Episode 5 aired, the very first thing that appears on the show's official website is Junko Enoshima herself, blocking the rest of the site.

Episode 6

Episode 7

  • Gundam has a bear inside the classroom. There's no explanation as to why, and many of his classmates comment on it.
    • Made better when the bear chomps on Teruteru and Souda's hands as they're doing a rather... elaborate guess at what Mikan and the imposter are up to. Said guess involved a donut and a banana. Need we say more?
  • Nagito bathing in the waterfall, after surviving another plane crash.
  • The Despair Sisters' reaction to Ryota's anime. Mukuro is a crying mess (which makes Ryota freak out) while Junko is so moved by the anime that she decides all other anime are inferior and proceeds to trash Ryota's anime collection, to his protests.
    • While Junko begins smashing the anime, a disclaimer pops up on the corner of the screen, reminding viewers that this is solely her opinion on anime. It's strangely funny to see the show itself address the viewer, as opposed to earlier when Yukizome did so.
  • Mukuro dragging around Mikan, who's blindfolded, gagged and tied up with a computer mouse.
  • In a scene that's hilarious and bizarrely awesome, Junko using her "Super Analysis" talent - her true innate talent. Her eyes move all over the place, independently of each other. The implication is that she can see everything at once, but it just looks so damn funny. Plus, she's grinning maniacally the entire time. Even funnier if you think about the fact that she probably doesn't have to do that, and is just doing it for fun.
  • For a dose of Black Comedy, Mukuro singing "Give Me Wings". The event that the song plays over is incredibly horrific and tragic but Junko trying to enforce the Soundtrack Dissonance trope is silly in its own twisted way. What takes the cake is that every so often, the scene cuts to Mukuro still holding up the music sheet and singing away.
    • Even funnier in the dub, as Mukuro is singing in Japanese, while Junko is speaking in English. Not to mention, Mukuro has been speaking perfect English the entire time (it is a dub, after all). What? Did Mukuro decide to spontaneously switch languages all of a sudden?
    • Another darkly silly moment is Junko dragging Izuru to the old school building as a "date". Said date begins with Junko bashing in some guards' skulls, set to "Charge".

Episode 8

  • Mukuro jumping down from the ceiling to pull down a projector screen and hand Junko a remote, then jumping back up.
  • When both Nanami and Yukizome first see the real Ryota, they ask if he lost weight.
  • Everyone is worried about Mikan when she stops attending class. The door opens, much to the group's excitement, only for them to groan when Nagito strolls in instead.
    • Hiyoko snarks at Nagito that they don't have time for his hope rambling right now, and he doesn't recognize her.
  • The "WTF" face Kazuichi makes as Gundham reveals "The Twelve Zodiac Generals", which are casually hanging off his arm.
  • As the students search for Mikan, Hiyoko calls out to her, asking to twist her joints. After Fuyuhiko remarks "she won't come out for that", Teruteru becomes a bit too excited after hearing "comes out."
Hiyoko: I don't get it, but you're creepy!
    • Akane making not-so-subtle suggestions that they should check the cafeteria.
    • While searching in the rain, Nekomaru is so big he's holding two umbrellas.

Episode 9

  • Juzo throws his coat onto some random guy's head when he gets ready to fight Junko. Doubly hilarious because the extra doesn't even react to this at all - they just continue to stand there with their head covered for the rest of the scene.
  • Pretty much all of Class 77's reactions when The Ultimate Imposter unmasks himself. The looks on their faces, especially Kazuichi and Ibuki's, are priceless.
  • When the class voices their worry about Gundam and Nekomaru holding off some reserve course students, Souda helps to reassure Sonia, then immediately regrets it.
  • Souda giving Nagito a piggyback ride, under Sonia's orders.
  • Nekomaru gives a Badass Boast when getting ready to fight. Gundham does as well - then he prepares to attack with his "Twelve Zodiac Generals" hamsters. Yes, hamsters.
  • Chisa throwing a fire extinguisher at Junko and Izuru is funny. Junko having to wildly leap aside is doubly funny, but what's triply funny is how nonchalantly Izuru dodges it. Especially when you recall that he could probably have grabbed it out of the air and protected Junko if he wanted to, but decided to let her almost get hit just because.

Episode 10

  • As Junko teases Sakakura about his feelings towards Munakata, generic drama music begins playing as she makes exaggerated gestures. All while a random Reserve Course student holds an umbrella above Junko's motions to keep her dry.
    • The look on Sakakura's face when Junko first incorrectly guesses he loves Yukizome, during which the music stops. Then she correctly guesses he really loves Munakata, which causes him to freak out.
    • The photos on her phone are also humorously edited to make the whole situation much worse.
  • Kazuichi making his infamous scared face again as Nekomaru and Tanaka emerge from the shadows.

Episode 11

     Side:Hope
  • Nagito causing a landslide by simply kicking a pebble... which manages to bury a squad in rubble.
  • Ibuki weaponizes "Kimi ni mo Todoke" (her song from Chapter 3 of SDR2) to cause an army to pass out.
  • Gundham was able to defeat one of Future Foundation's task force members by being such a Large Ham that he also gets the member's falcon under his command. Also awesome because they are both an ex-Ultimate... meaning Gundham is better with animals then even the Ultimate Falconer!
Gundham: Once the seal of my name is undone, the resulting sunrise will incenerate all of creation. Revere those words, as you pass into the afterlife! The seal is now broken! Hear me, for my name is Gundham! Gundham Tanaka!
[The Ultimate Falconer freaks out as the falcon went to Gundham]
    Gundham: Shiver as you sleep.
  • The Impostor dressing as Munakata while fighting with his own katana.
  • Nagito knocks Mikan away to hold/hug Naegi's hand while having one of his usual luck and "hopegasm". Even funnier in the English dub, where Nagito happily states "his hands were so soft!" as he's being carried away, Makoto says "why was he sticky?" and Hiyoko says "is it just me, or is he getting creepier with age?" but the way she says it sounds like "gayer".
    Mikan: Um, Naegi-san?
Makoto: [Turns his attention to Mikan]
    Mikan: Um... Well...
Nagito: [Knocks Mikan away] Hello, Makoto Naegi. You have the same luck as mine. No, the Ultimate Lucky Student who surpassed my own. I'm so lucky to have a wonderful underclassman.
Akane and Nidai: [Carrying Nagito] Gotcha!
    Mahiru: That's enough.
    Hiyoko: He's getting even creepier.
    Nagito: We'll meet again.
    • Nagito pays exactly zero heed when he pushes Mikan out of the way, despite the fact that she can be heard sliding down the ramp while screaming, with her classmates frantically chasing after her.
    • Even funnier if you realize there was a good chance Mikan was trying to tell Makoto that she managed to save his love interest's life.
  • Teruteru's newest 'call out a celebrity's name when in pain/distress' turns out to be...
    Teruteru: JUSTIN BIEBER!!
    • The dub modifies this to Akane remarking "Hey, it's Justin Bieber!" as she races past.
      • And what is Teruteru doing during the battle? Grilling and flipping meat to Akane as she fights.
      • Akane goes up against a mook who can breath fire and casually blocks his attack with two raw, jumbo-sized meat sticks, even going on to eat them and compliment the mook on his cooking as she continues fighting. The look on the guy's face as she knocks him out is priceless
  • As Class 77 convinces Ryota to come with them, Teruteru remarks that "[he] and the little guy are rigid with excitement." Ibuki immediately says how gross that is, in a dramatic expression from the second game.
    • Crunchyroll's translation has him saying "My Weiner and I are both excited!"
    • immediately afterward, Mikan stutters out that "it makes [her] so happy" and "[she] is so excited." Due to the proximity of her and Teruteru's comments, Ibuki and Hiyoko get the wrong idea and ask her what's wrong with her.
  • When Funimation uploaded the dubbed version, they accidentally replaced Kyoko's line with an outtake Caitlin Glass made during recording. Funimation apologized for the mistake.
Kyoko: Yeah, I don't get this either. Pretty sure I died.

     Super Dangan Ronpa 2.5 OVA
  • Sayaka crashed into Nagito, who crashed into a truck, slammed into a tree, had a bunch of spiky fruit fall on him, and finished up with a cat clawing his face.
  • Naegi acting extremely cool, while Sayaka fawning over him. Keep in mind that this is all Nagito's imagination.
  • One shot in the OVA shows Mukuro giving a pretty funny angry stare at Sayaka when she is hanging out Makoto and is affectionately holding on to his arm.
  • While Nagito was being patched up by Mikan in Nurse's office, Leon hit his ball into the office and sprayed chemicals and glass onto his face, resulting in an explosion.
  • The sheer irony that Nagito's ideal life is completely contradictory to what his real self, rather vocally, believes in. He goes on a rant about how much he hates talent and manages to go nearly a full twenty minutes without talking about 'hope', even getting confused when World Destroyer brings it up. After the illusion is finally destroyed, Nagito very is embarrassed and relieved the dream was not broadcasted.
  • Just how skewed Nagito's views are on other people. In the dream, Sonia actually reciprocates Kazuichi's love, Makoto is ultra-cool, Ruruka is nice and Hiyoko defends Mikan.

     Other
  • The Readers of Komica (Taiwan) had gave the following additional SHSL honors and reasonings:
    • Makoto Naegi: SHSL Mouth Cannon / Talk No Jutsu — his talk destroyed Junko's despair and Munakata's obsession with eradicating despair.
    • Byakuya Togami: SHSL Incompetence — Makes trials difficult, got himself captured, and just asks Naegi to tell the audience...
    • Munakata: Super COLLEGE Level Incompetence — his incompetence is beyond high school level.
    • Chihiro/Chiaki: SHSL Angel — Chihiro's alter ego helped Naegi escape his execution, while Chiaki... do we have to explain?
    • Ryota Mitarai: SHSL Coward — The entire reason why The Tragedy occurs is because of his anime, and instead of fighting back he just kept running.
    • Ruruka Ando: SHSL Bitch — Kills everyone for her own purpose, including her closest friend.
    • Juzo Sakakura: SHSL War Criminal due to the initial wave of actions, and later SHSL Messiah — for saving Naegi from the Suicide video and ended the game himself.
    • Naegi, Munakata, and Hajime are also "honored" with SHSL Widower, since all their waifus have died (along with a past waifu for Naegi and a potential husbando for Munakata). Though Naegi's did get better.
    • Naegi and Hajime also have the title "SHSL Stand-around", since Hajime is forced to do nothing but stand around from ep 6 to ep 11, while Naegi ended up doing nothing in Side:Hope.
