• Fridge Horror: The practice of placing cucumbers upon the eyes as a beauty technique is suggested twice, and near the end of the play it is implied that Eva Orange has gone through with that tip, even though vegetables are sentient in this world. No one, not even Gedda Carrot, seems to find this unsettling.
• Fridge Horror: In episode 10 of the tv series based off of the plays, Mæja (known as Strawberry May) remarks that she’s just heard that banana splits are amazing, referring to bananas doing the splits. Eva/Annie Orange’s reaction suggests she wants to EAT a banana split, despite the fact that bananas are sentient and that two of her friends are bananas. Horrifying.
