The AVGN theme isn't really heard in the game, only minor notes of it in some levels. Supposedly, this was due to Kyle Justin actually owning the rights to the song, but even if that is the case, the lack of the AVGN theme in the game makes sense, as many other video game adaptations (such as Ninja Turtles, Back to the Future, etc.) lack their proper themes.
On the part of the locations of the AVGN's friends there are jokes on them being there. First is Mike who is the only one to wield a melee weapon is found in the fantasy level, fantasy games tend to focus on melee combat. Second is the Guitar Guy, he's dead and wields an acoustic guitar he's found in the future level. Finally there is the Bullshit Man who is found in the NSFW level in which bodily excrement that you don't want to be lying around are everywhere.
Why is the first game so unfair and crudely designed while the second more of a hard-but-fair challenge? Fred Fucks reveals "Game Land" was created to torture the nerd for horribly reviewing the shitty games that pulled the same tricks. However, the second game has Earth turned into a videogame, and while the game refers to the "Gameified" world as "shitty", the world was just altered into a videogame, not built from the ground up like Game Land.
