Fridge Brilliance

  • Roary's name translates to "red king". He's the number 1 star of Silver Hatch, and he's red!
  • Drifter is the least emotive of all the cars. In Japan, people don't show emotions overtly. As Drifter is Japanese, he would not show emotion overtly.
  • Maxi gets very upset at the idea of a tractor engine. While this could very much be attributed to his love of speed, this could also be attributed to the fact that he is a Ferrari, and Ferrari's rival, Lamborghini, started as a tractor company. Maxi doesn't want to be like his rival brand.
  • One thing that is evident in "Testing Time for Maxi" is that in Maxi's crying scene, Maxi looks visibly anguished, yet he is not shedding any tears. Earlier in the episode, he was blowing a lot of white smoke, a symptom of a radiator issue. Maxi was not shedding any tears because his radiator was faulty.

Fridge Horror

  • Big Chris almost quits working at Silver Hatch, and Mr. Carburettor suggests that Marsha should follow in his footsteps. Big Chris and Marsha are Mom and Dad; Mr. Carburettor was essentially kicking out the cars' (children's) parents!
  • The scrapheap is mentioned several times in the series, and in one episode, Tin Top is panicking about being sent to the scrapheap for damaging Mr Carburettor's statue. Given the actual severity of the problem he created, and that the cars are considered living things in this world, this is very dark.
  • Assuming that the cars age like, and are prone to the same problems, as real-life cars, then Drifter is going to outlive all of his friends.note
