Fridge Brilliance

  • After the Grand Theft Me of Felicia in the Secrets Arc, along with the obvious evil blank-pupiled eyes, Felicia's body also has its eyes appear more awkward or drunk at times. Remember that this is Wittle Wallace controlling her body as this time, who tends to appear wall-eyed every time he appears, so perhaps this is just a side effect of being inside the dummy for so long. The Reverse is true for Dummy!Felicia, with her new body's eyes now operating normally despite its normally wall-eyed appearance.
  • Why is Erma terrified by Santa? Christmas is widely considered the polar opposite of Halloween (Scary vs. Heavenly) and modern day Christmas (which is what Santa Claus usually represents) is believed to destroy the spiritual and religious aspects of the holiday in favor of commercialism. To Erma, Santa is a hateful, greedy madman who destroys religious beliefs and "kills" (in a sense) things "scary" such as poor Erma. This could also explain why Erma is calm and happy when confronting Krampus, Krampus is a icon designed to be scary (much like what Erma basically is), granted this is quite obvious if you know Erma, but Krampus also still (mostly) retains its original spiritual heritage, so unlike Santa which is commercialized to death, Krampus is still an ancient monster that doesn't destroy the spiritual aspect of the holiday.
    • A simpler explanation could be because of her encounter with the Mall Santa. She is still a little girl and while she may be used to horrifying sights and such, she still has plenty of human and childish aspects. Her shame in liking a MLP-like show (intense violence aside) is an example of one; its possible she thought the Mall Santa was the real one.
    • Besides, if she was scared of him in the first place, why bother going to the mall and wait in line to begin with? (While Erma did look nervous in line, it's normal for some kids to be nervous in meeting Santa. Especially if some of them think they might be on the Naughty List and Erma does have her mischievous side.)
    • OP here, those are valid points.
  • Wittle Wallace's Nigh-Invulnerability seems to make little sense considering Slappy, his supposed inspiration, was usually destroyed rather easy. However, remember that Slappy was an Expy of Chucky, who was a unkillable doll that tries to swap the souls with someone to cause more mayhem. Wallace isn't based on Slappy, but on what Slappy would be like if he was more like his inspiration.
  • The Principal is suspiciously kind and gentle towards Erma compared to every other adult minus Erma's relatives and (current) babysitter, while the rest of the adults treat her like a freak. Then it hit me, he's blind, he most likely doesn't even recognize Erma as a Stringy-Haired Ghost Girl, or even heard of one to begin with. He just treats her like any other kid because to him, she is just normal kid like everyone else.
    • As the web comic progressed on, we get a clearer picture on why the Principal accepted Erma. She isn't the first supernatural being to have existed in the school, there's an entire rat civilization living under the school, and he's one of the few individuals responsible of making sure it stays a secret!
  • The Reveal of Erma's Pony Princess show as surprisingly violent and a bit dark seems to come out of nowhere (well, not wholly given we've seen a bit of it before) and I was wondering what the point was. However, then I remembered the shows' inspiration is in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and more than a few people are quite surprised by how dark the show can be, especially the Expanded Universe (canonicity questions aside.) A good example would be the Season 5 premier. It's empathetic to how MLP lovers are with the show and the babysitter represents outsiders, with her reaction to actually seeing it being how some of the non-fans may react to the surprising level of depth and unexpected material the show has.
    • It could also explain the real reason Erma changed the channel in Felicia's presence. She must've thought the slasher film she made it look like she was watching looked tamer by comparison.
  • Mitsu and Momo's personalities make more sense once it's revealed they are Zashiki Warashi. For those who don't know, they are supposedly house spirits that blesses the residence they're staying in with good luck. This means that whatever house they end up in, the people inside it are gonna trap them in for a long long time and their attitude is most likely them acting like brats because their lives are gonna be hell for a long time.
    • In an interview with their uncle Sam, they do bring this up, but they act more annoyed about it than anything (though the main question is now if their Disappeared Dad was someone similar).

Fridge Horror

  • Imagine what would've happened if Wallace stole Erma's body. Considering what she's capable off, including teleporting via screens, immense power, and even the fact that she can't die, and let's not forget that pissing her off most likely results in being torn in two. The Big Bad would've been unstoppable, and most likely caused the Apocalypse. Thank god Wallace is extremely short-sighted, and was stupid enough to bully something that powerful.
  • Considering her freakout, imagine what would happen if a elementary school bully were to target her (and due to her wierdness, chances are they would), only to push her to her breaking point and be scared shitless, or worse, the torn to shreds. Sure the former would be Laser-Guided Karma, but the latter...
  • I know this sounds weird, but considering what happened with the grouchy old lady in the Treat-or-Treat Arc, imagine what would happen Erma were to, say, play a prank on someone's or her own grandparent, and end up scaring them to death. Sure, that grouchy, mean old lady kind of had it coming, but poor kid would be traumatized discovering that she accidentally murdered an innocent person!
  • What the hell did Erma do to her old babysitter to make her so... deranged? I mean, the other adults we see, ghostly and normal, are usually unaffected, or scared off, by her antics. Sure, Erma can do some serious damage, but the worst she does is jumpscares and spooky (if slightly comical) imagery. The worst she usually does is scare them. What kind of prank did she pull that was so scary that is causes people to go insane?
    • It's possible the babysitter just didn't take it well due to unfamiliarity with Erma, like not being told about (or not believing) her being a ghost girl. Alternatively, she was already unhinged to begin with, or Erma dialed it up for her for whatever reason.
  • Erma's old babysitter seems to be a little... off, but seems to have something planned for poor Erma. Considering Erma scared her to the point of insanity and her face, one has to wonder if she's planning so horrible that it will even horrify ERMA.
    • Though wouldn't that result in her tearing the old babysitter to shreds?
    • That would be the funniest and shortest arc ever.
    • The old babysitter would have to deal with the sheer wrath of two very upset parents, too. One is a ghost girl that is, most likely, even more powerful than Erma, being older and wiser, and the other is just human... but an angry parent, supernatural or not, is not someone you want to mess with.
    • Another thing to consider is how would Connor feel when he finds out that Erma, the girl he crushes on, is the reason his older sister is a deranged mess?
  • "Sleep Floating" seems like just a mix of funny and heartwarming... but when Erma passed through a plane in flight, she terrified the pilots. And when it's seen from behind after it passes her, it looks like it's going at a downward angle. Did Erma unintentionally cause a plane crash?
  • When Erma finds Rin, she says her family "shouldn't be" worried about her. Then she says she always envied Emiko for "[taking] her own life". She vents about how miserable she's been, and all but states she doesn't consider her relatives to actually be family. When she returns, she tells her sisters she "didn't want to ever be found". All this raises a disturbing question: is this just typical self-loathing, or was she thinking about killing herself? Would she have done it if Erma hadn't found her when she did?
  • In the night parade, Erma's rampage on the village is only subdued thanks to Sam, Emiko, and Momo, who manage to calm Erma down. Now one has to wonder what would happen in a future situation where they weren't around anymore to help Erma overcome her unstoppable rage.
