For those who don't know, they are supposedly house spirits that blesses the residence they're staying in with good luck. This could also explain why Erma is calm and happy when confronting Krampus, Krampus is a icon designed to be scary (much like [[StringyHairedGhostGirl what Erma basically is]]), granted this is quite obvious if you know Erma, but Krampus also still (mostly) retains its original spiritual heritage, so unlike Santa which is commercialized to death, Krampus is still an ancient monster that doesn't destroy the spiritual aspect of the holiday.
