The Exorcism is a 2024 American Religious Horror thriller film written and directed by M. A. Fortin and Joshua John Miller (son of Jason Miller, who played Father Damien Karras in The Exorcist).
Anthony "Tony" Miller (Russell Crowe) is a troubled actor begins to unravel while shooting a horror film. His estranged daughter wonders if he's slipping back into his past addictions or if there's something more sinister at play.
The film also stars Ryan Simpkins, Chloe Bailey, Sam Worthington, David Hyde Pierce, and Samantha Mathis. It is due to release on June 7, 2024.
It is related to neither the aforementioned Exorcist franchise (though the franchise undoubtedly inspired its creation) nor the previous year's Russell Crowe vehicle The Pope's Exorcist.

The Exorcism includes the following examples:
- Abnormal Limb Rotation Range: At one point in the trailer, Tony bends his torso backwards in a position that would normally break it (though there's a Sickening "Crunch!" sound as well).
- Advertising by Association: "From the producers of Halloween and the creator of the Scream franchise".
- Demonic Possession: In the trailer, Tony is possessed in several shots, bending his body with sickening crunches, letting a monstrous growl out and lifting Jennifer by the neck.

- Shout-Out: In the trailer, Blake name-drops notorious examples of Movie-Making Mess such as The Exorcist and The Omen.
