David Hyde Pierce (born April 3, 1959 in Saratoga Springs, New York) is an American actor and director.
He is best known for his Emmy-winning role of Dr. Niles Crane in the NBC sitcom Frasier. His filmography includes Little Man Tate, The Fisher King, Sleepless in Seattle, Nixon, Wet Hot American Summer and Down with Love. On Broadway, he has appeared in Spamalot, Curtains and Hello, Dolly! and directed the musical It Shoulda Been You.
He has also been a voice actor in films such as A Bug's Life, Osmosis Jones and Treasure Planet, as well as reteaming with Kelsey Grammer to voice Cecil Terwilliger in The Simpsons.
