This house wasn’t repossessed... it’s just plain possessed.
The Dead Come Home (also known as The House on Tombstone Hill and Dead Dudes in the House) is a 1989 supernatural Slasher Movie written and directed by James Riffel and starring Mark Zobian, Victor Verhaeghe, Sarah Newhouse, and Douglas Gibson.

Mark and his girlfriend Jamie have bought a large, dilapidated house in the middle of nowhere for practically nothing. With their friends Ron, Bob, Steve, Linda, and Joey, they plan on fixing it up and making it a nice place to settle down. Unfortunately, the house is occupied by the spirit of Abigail Leatherbee, who murdered a neighbor in the house forty years prior. When Bob smashes Abigail’s tombstone in the front yard, he and the others earn the wrath of Abigail, who proceeds to lock down the house and pick off the new occupants, with the gang scrambling to find a way to survive the night.

The Dead Come Home contains examples of:

  • Demonic Possession: What happens to those who are killed in the house, undergoing a Face–Heel Turn to assist Abigail in her vengeance.
  • Downer Ending: Abigail is seemingly vanquished but the evil force is still occupying the house, as Ron, the last of the gang standing, is killed right as the film ends by the recently killed S.
  • Half the Man He Used to Be: Bob, courtesy of a broken window guillotining him in half.
  • Jerkass: Bob, full stop.
