Single Crossovers

A

    A Certain Magical Index
  • A Shattered Vale by Darkbetrayer
    • Recommended by ultimomant
    • Crossover with A Certain Magical Index
    • Status: Ongoing
    • Synopsis: Touma, Accelerator, and Last Order get caught in a strange light and transported to different places in Remnant. An injured Accelerator is quickly rescued by Team JNPR and Last Order is quickly taken in by Team RWBY. Unfortunately, Touma is taken in by Roman Torchwick and Neo, who plan to exploit his powers by tricking him into believing they are the good guys and the Hunters are the bad guys.

    Attack on Titan
  • Attack on Titan A New Path by The Court of Talons and co-written by The Avenging Titan''
    • Recommended by Servos New Head
    • Status: Ongoing
    • Synopsis: Ozma and Salem have been at war for centuries. The fight has taken many lives and taken many centuries. The champion of the Brother of Light has failed countless times to complete his task. Now, more than ever, Remnant needs a new protector. It needs a man who knows the cruelty of life. A man who doesn't falter in doing the unthinkable. A dark guardian. Remnant needs...Eren Yeager.
    • Crossover with Attack on Titan
    • Comments: This one is unique for a crossover with RWBY as Eren's first and closes allies on Remnant aren't the titular team. While the first couple chapters are a bit rough, it really starts reeving up at chapter 5. Expect mystery, heartwarming moments, and action. It does start immediately after chapter 138 of the AOT manga, so beware of spoilers for that.

    Avatar: The Last Airbender
  • The Legend of Ruby by Rassilon001
    • Recommended by roseunity
    • Crossover with Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra.
    • Status: Complete
    • Synopsis: Four Elements. Four Girls. An adventure ten thousand years in the making. In a world of both Spirits and Grimm, human beings possess a remarkable gift called bending, able to manipulate one of the four elemental powers. Air, Water, Earth, and Fire. This is their story. The story of Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang. The story of Team RWBY. And the Legend of Ruby.
    • Comments: It can feel a bit rushed at times, and its in need of some polishing, particularly with some spelling and grammar mistakes, but the idea itself is pure gold and the author does a wonderful job blending the two universes into one. Well, three if you count both generations of Avatar. Some of the plot twists can be seen coming a mile off, particularly to longtime fans of either series, but its interesting to see the characters stumble around with no idea while we the audience are in the know for once.

     Azur Lane
  • Fairy Tales and Battle Reports by FloridaMan722
    • Recommended by Vinnymoneyho
    • Crossover with Azur Lane
    • Status: Ongoing
    • Synopsis:Jaune wanted to be a huntsman, a hero like his lineage, not some boring port paper-pusher 'Commander' that his family is pressuring him into. He wants to slay Grimm, but it'll be difficult with no transcripts and a broken sword. Maybe there's something in the basement to help him?
    • Comments: It's a funny and humourous story that makes Jaune the son of the battleship Kansen North Carolina. Its grammar is decent, the omakes are humorous or informative, and you can get a good laugh. And it starts off with Jaune beating up Duke of York in a panic.

  • The Magic of Overwhelming Firepower: An RWBY and Azur Lane Crossover by IReadToLive99
    • Recommended by Vinnymoneyho
    • Crossover with Azur Lane
    • Status: Ongoing
    • SynopsisWhere a regular girl gets inserted into the world of Remnant. But she ain't no regular insert, because this one has been gifted enough firepower to level a small island or two. And maybe even a city if her wrath is incurred... Let's see how this one goes. Shall we?
    • Comments: It's only four chapters long but it's an interesting concept of an SI with near-modern Earth weaponry being dropped into Remnant. That and Remnant's first ship spirits being seen by it's natives.

    Azure Striker Gunvolt
  • The KVKC Chronicles by raak1101
    • Recommended by Prometheus117
    • Crossover with Azure Striker Gunvolt Series
    • Status: Ongoing
    • Synopsis: This is not a world of warring conflict between those born with power and those without. This is a world of fairy tales, where monsters and heroes are real. In another story, they were shackled by the notion of Adepts and Septimas. Here, they are freed by those of Hunters and Semblances. Crossover of RWBY and Azure Striker Gunvolt. Follows ''RWBY'' canon.

B

    Babylon 5
  • Shadows and Silver Eyes by DarthDakka
    • Recommended by Khamul 91, Teslashark
    • Crossover with Babylon 5. However, foreknowledge of Babylon 5 is not needed for this story.
    • Status: Ongoing
    • Synopsis: A team of would-be heroines looking for their wayward friend, an ancient guardian who's begun to realize the center will hold no longer and others would find themselves set down different paths in the wake of a mysterious explosion. And two interlopers find themselves amid this tale of heroes and monsters, gods and magiks with an alien agenda of their own. (No OC/RWBY shipping!)

    Ben 10

  • Of Gemstones and Watches by Transwiththeplans
    • Recommended by weissqueen
    • Crossover with Ben 10
    • Status: Ongoing
    • Synopsis: In an alternate timeline, Ben Tennyson instead travels his summer with the equally mischievous Ruby Rose. But there's something more to this girl than meets the eye, and once Ben receives the Omnitrix, their summer takes a strange, and sometimes more horrifying, turn.

  • RWBBYVerse: Clash of Heroes by bcarandang1
    • Recommended by: tierhalibel
    • Status: Cancelled
    • Crossover with: Ben 10
    • Synopsis: Ben Tennyson is accidentally sent to the RWBY universe and tries to fit in. But when he finds out he's a clone of the actual Ben Tennyson, will he actually be able to fit in this foreign universe?
    • Comments: Although the shipping seemed rushed, the rest of the story is quite well written. I hear the writer will actually explain how the ship went so fast. Overall, good story.
      • Story and author's account have vanished from the internet.
      • Found a mirror on the Internet Archive.

    BIONICLE
  • Because We Could Not Be You by Masterweaver
    • Recommended by Qrow
    • Crossover With: BIONICLE
    • Status: Ongoing
    • Synopsis: How harsh the world can be, that one's fate is chosen on a single choice, a single judgment. How cruel the world can be, that what is done to survive will taint forever. How cold the world can be, to either submit to become the hunter, or break free to become the hunted. Might it be wondrous, then, if two souls—one young and one very, very old—met together in such suffering? How strange they would appear to each other, not just in form but in action. How odd the world can be, that one small addition can change so little, and yet so much…

     Black Lagoon
The Tsarina of Crime by Johnnieboy11
  • Recommended by: VictorioMWolff-Haddock
  • Crossover with: Black Lagoon
  • Status: Ongoing
  • Synopsis: Roanapur fell to a US Raid meant to seize and stop all weapon shipments through the city and into the Middle East. Amidst those that died were Hotel Moscow and their leader, Balalaika. Though all is not as it seems. Revived and tasked with a new Mission, Hotel Moscow's finest soldiers now have to contend with a new War, new enemies and a strange new world.
  • Comments: The entirety of Hotel Moscow is resurrected by Perun, Slavic's God of War, onto Remnant so they can fix that world for good.

    BlazBlue
  • Still Alive by CrackPairingLover
    • Recommended by Sir Bearington
    • Crossover with BlazBlue
    • Status: Phase I Complete, with sequels planned.
    • Synopsis: What if Kazuma didn't die? What if The Boundary just teleported him in another world instead of destroying his body? Join Kazuma Kuvaru as he somehow ended up in the world of Remnant and making new friends, meeting new enemies, having new adventures and...romance? That's impossible…right?

  • Remnants of an Azure Dream by Cod of Justice
    • Recommended by Universalperson
    • Status: Ongoing
    • Crossover: BlazBlue
    • Other tags: Fix Fic, Quest Fic, Fusion Fic
    • Synopsis: In a Remnant different from the one you might know, a young woman starts writing her application to Beacon Academy. She writes down her name: Noel Vermillion. But then her feline teacher tells her to write her real name: Saya Mercury. So begins a tale of a Huntress raised by Heroes, born of the Azure...
    • Comments: A quest/role play where the player character is a (somewhat altered) BlazBlue character, though the canon RWBY characters appear as well. One of the high points of this quest is the worldbuilding - the settings have been combined in such a way that the result is actually better and more consistent than its source canons. There are a few clunky moments in early chapters, and sadly much of Saya's early life is skipped over, but there are powerful fight scenes and extremely strong character interactions. And Saya is an adorable badass.

    Bleach
  • A RWBY Zanpakuto by Azdoine
    • Recommended by ultimomant
    • Crossover with Bleach
    • Status: Complete
    • Synopsis: Instead of gaining Zangetsu, Ichigo gains four Zanpakuto nicknamed Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang.
    • Comments: The website is in Russian, but is relatively easy to navigate and the story itself is in English. This fic is an AU version of the Bleach universe with many elements of RWBY.

  • RWBY and the Deathberry by thewhitearrow
    • Recommended by ultimomant
    • Crossover with Bleach
    • Status: Dormant
    • Synopsis: Remnant is a world besieged by Grimm. During the initiation test for the new semester at Beacon Academy the students encounter an outsider. What will change with this outsider involved and who exactly is he?
    • Comments: Very dark. Yang looks into Ichigo's eyes and sees a man who has given up on life. According to his flashbacks, Soul Society lost against the Vandenreich and he was the only survivor.

  • Soul Hunter by SkywalkerT-65
    • Recommended by ultimomant
    • Crossover with Bleach
    • Status: Dormant; last updated November 2018
    • Synopsis: When Ruby Rose went to Beacon Academy two years early, she had assumed she was going to be the odd one out. Her sister, the Ice Queen Heiress, and the mysterious dark-haired girl aside. What she didn't expect, what none of them expected, was that an even more mysterious teenager would join them. One with a power no other Hunter or Huntress has...and one that just may turn the tide...
    • Comments: This is an AU version of Ichigo who moved to Remnant with his family as a child. As a result, he was trained solely by Isshin and there was no secrecy about his lineage, meaning he has access to his Shinigami, Hollow, and Quincy powers at the start. Despite this, the author works to make sure Ichigo is not overpowered and everybody contributes.

Someone that he can hunt without weighting on his conscience, gnawing at him in his sleep. He requires prey to occupy him, and what better place to look at than the remnants of a world touched by Old Ones, beneath a shattered moon and seeded with prey straight from nightmares?

  • The Heirs of the Moon Reborn by Drengade
    • Crossover with Bloodborne
    • Recommended by: VictorioMWolff-Haddock
    • Status:
    • Synopsis:
      • An Arc of Spraying Blood: Jaune wanted to be a Huntsman, a Hero, but he didn't understand what that meant. To an eight-year-old Jaune Arc, to be a Hero, all you needed was Aura. Nothing else mattered. When given a chance to train with a real Huntsman, surely he would be able to become a Hero! But real training was not easy. Under the wing of his master, Jaune would soon discover that far more dangerous things than Grimm stalk the lands unseen, and the biggest danger comes not from death, but from knowing too much and understanding too little. Though perhaps, instead of a Hero, or even a Huntsman, Jaune was destined to be a Hunter. After all, there are many eyes on him already.
      • An Arc of Shining Stars: Eleven-year-old Jaune has survived his brush with death and insanity at the whims of Marlin Fathoms and The Father, but not without cost. His Aura is held back from being unleashed by a flimsy, temporary ritual performed by his master, and he must fully become a member of The Heirs of The Moon Reborn before it breaks. In addition, his eyes are opening irrevocably, and with the interested gazes of two Great Ones on him, he can't relax. He still doesn't know why he's living through the fall of Chalchiuit in his dreams when he can remember them. Nor does he even know what the creatures he's encountering are, and now the fame and tall tales of the unnamed child, who saved the Schnee family, dog his every movement. Perhaps, maybe, the answers he seeks lie in his Order's ancient home, the paradoxical Archive Labyrinth.

    Carnival Phantasm
  • Remnant of a Carnival by GradationAir87
    • Recommended by ultimomant
    • Crossover with Carnival Phantasm

In a new world, filled with monsters called Grimm and superheroes called Huntsmen, he's finally able to pursue his dream to become a hero! Of course, Grail-kun isn't going to make it easy for him.
    • Comments: Although Shirou is from Carnival Phantasm, the story is semi-serious with a plot. Shirou ends up taking Jaune Arc's place in Beacon, but Jaune is not forgotten, as Grail-kun ends up corrupting him and he falls in with Junior and Roman Torchwick.

    Dark Souls

  • The Legends of Dark Souls by runicwolf
    • Recommended by Corrosion
    • Crossover with Dark Souls
    • Status: Dormant
    • Synopsis: Heroes phase in and out through the centuries that pass. Some are forgotten, some are forever immortalized, and others revive through some means. Whether a historylong forgotten by the world of Remnant, or fractures of another world being connected through. Regardless, the very fabric wavers, and relations shift and obscure. What is known, is heroes times past are in Remnant.
    • Comments: A truly hilarious fanfic that stars the Memetic Badass characters of the Dark Souls series such as Giantdad and Champion Gundyr.

    The DC Universe
  • Hunters of Justice by trestwho
    • Recommended by scottycj
    • Crossover with The DC Universe
    • Status: Ongoing
    • Synopsis: The World of Remnant is no more. Destroyed by the knowledge collector Braniac, all that remains is a few captured cities and a small band of huntsmen and huntresses. Only teams RWBY & JNPR can now save their captured home. But first they must adapt to their new environment and become heroes, in a world of superheroes, villains and Gods among men.
    • Comments: Basically this is a divergent canon taking place during RWBY Volume 3 and Post-Darkseid War in an ambiguous DC Universe continuity (there is no indication whether this is Silver Age, Post-Crisis, New 52, Rebirth, Earth One, DCAU, etc.). Basically Team RWBY and Team JNPR are given a grand tour of the DC Universe and the grander world they've stepped into out of the shadows of the localized Remnant they've been used to for so long. There may or may not be a plot involving Salem in the future, and Ozpin makes an appearance in an Elseworlds style chapter, but for now, besides those two things, the only elements that make it a crossover at this point are the presence of Grimm on Earth that have been carried over from Remnant and Team RWBY and JNPR. It is HEAVILY centered around the DC Universe. It's worth giving a try, and holy God it's long at 481k words. 0_0

    • Comments: A hilarious story with a well-written Deadpool and a lot of great jokes.

    Destiny
  • Remnant of Light by bathedinblood
    • Recommended by Gun Master_J, Z-man, super_big_mac
    • Crossover with Destiny
    • Status: Complete
    • Synopsis: After saving the Warmind Rasputin from attack, the Vanguard is given the location of a possible Golden Age colony that was not wiped out by the Darkness (Remnant obviously). A single veteran Titan is charged with the responsibility of making contact with this colony and bringing them back into humanity's fold. But it will not be easy.
    • Comments: This is a great read. The lores of Remnant and Destiny mesh together like Peanut butter and chocolate, and the author takes full advantage of this. Not to mention the guardians are even more awesome here than in canon. (Is it just me, or has everything in this fic become more awesome with what's been shown of Destiny 2?)
      • I have to agree, it's clearly not bathedinblood's first time writing the RWBY characters (or is it?), and aside from an occasional minor spelling error or repeated word, it's all-around fantastic! I especially love how they slipped in minor crossovers from other series in both Remnant of Light and Beacons of Hope. My only hint to these crossovers: Italians and ice.
    • Now has a sequel, Beacons of Hope, which can be found here.[https://www.fanfiction.net/s/13089705/1/Beacons-of-Hope]]

    • Comments: Initially seems like the standard "Character X falls into Universe Y" crossover plot, but things go wildly Off the Rails fast, resulting in a story with far more originality than the standard crossover fare, yet maintaining characterization throughout. Fans of either series ought to give this one a look.

    • Comments: Crossover between New Vegas and RWBY. Post NCR victory. Starts off as humorous chapters depicting the idealistic RWBY characters clashing with the morally-gray Crapsack World of the post-apocalyptic Mojave, before getting more serious as it shows how much their actions can throw a wrench into the carefully balanced power dynamics between the NCR and the One-Man Army that is Courier Six. Good sense of humor, good characterizations, good intrigue, would highly recommend.

    • Comments: Crossover between New Vegas and RWBY, and probably one of the best RWBY/Fallout crossover fanfic I've seen. My comment on this fanfic probably never gonna do this matchup justice but Courier Six in this fic is simultaneously hilarious and well-written characters and his interaction with Team RWBY and other characters from RWBY is really interesting and great to read. This fic also have a interesting exploration of how someone from the Post-Nuclear wasteland world like Fallout would interact with Remment and its culture. I reccomanded you to read this fanfic if you like RWBY/Fallout fanfic.

She can temporarily take on their powers or materialize them in the real world. Unfortunately, Ruby is pessimistic and cynical and uninterested in becoming a hero or a Huntress. • Comments: Extremely hilarious as we see Ozpin, Port, and Oobleck's uncharacteristic terror at learning that Mr. and Mrs. Arc are coming and Glinda's exasperation. While it's a borderline Crack Fic, we also get some nice development and characterization, especially the scene where we learn just how Gilgamesh and Saber entered Remnant and got together.

    • Pairings: Shirō Emiya & Pyrrha Nikos
    • Comments: This is pretty sporadically updated. However, the sporadic updates are well worth the quality of the chapters. eppelMax is able to deliver quality character interaction and stellar fight scenes. While some characters may seem to be OOC, it is important to remember that Shirō is taking the spot of Jaune. Shirō is everything Jaune is not. He is skilled, snarky, observant, and confident. • Crossover with: Final Fantasy XV
    • Pairings: Noctis/Luna
    • Status: Dormant; last updated April 2018
    • Synopsis: Under mysterious circumstances, all the members of Team RWBY are transported to Eos as children, with no memories of their past lives. The Astrals have foretold that when the Chosen King comes of age to save the world, these four girls would stand by him and his friends, possibly knowing more of their past lives in the process.
    • Comments: From the offset, this fic is a slightly altered retelling of XV's main plot with the introduction of the RWBY girls. The biggest example, by far, is having Ruby and Yang being taken in by Regis, becoming Noctis' adoptive sisters in the process. The banter between the Chocobros and their new companions along the road trip is very natural-sounding and akin to the dialogue from the game, and it does a good job of reinforcing the bond between Noct, Ruby and Yang as siblings. The decision to connect them this way also makes it unique from other fics which would rush ships off right away.

    • Status: Dormant; last updated February 2020
    • Synopsis: To prevent a dangerous future from coming to pass, the Kingdom of Lucis is transported into the world of Remnant, becoming its fifth kingdom as it establishes a deep history with their new surroundings. Millennia later, King Regis sends his son Noctis and his friends to Beacon Academy as part of a transfer program between Lucis and Vale to build ties between them. This leads to a reunion between the prince and childhood friends Ruby and Yang after several years, as the newly dubbed teams RWBY and LAPI make the most of academy life. Despite the fun and games, Regis soon discovers that some of their problems from Eos have followed them into their new world...
    • Comments: After several chapters of well-done exposition focused on Lucis' integration into Remnant, the fic properly starts as an modified retelling of RWBY, with XV's plot soon to follow. The writer is able to mix up the Chocobros' presence very nicely, allowing them to play off not just the RWBY girls, but JNPR as well. The chapters where the XV boys enter Beacon tend to be more or less word-for-word recreations of RWBY's first few episodes and follow similar beats, but even those are given unique twists that the authors promise will lead to a different beast that merges the series' stories together and will go into uncharted territory for the RWBY/LAPI supergroup.

    • Crossover with: GARO
    • Status: Complete. A sequel, titled GARO: Remnant Knight that focuses on Sirius and Ruby's children, as well Weiss' son. has been cancelled, but the author is promising a reboot.
    • Synopsis: "Where there is light, shadows lurk and fear reigns. Yet by the blade of Knights, mankind was given hope". When the Seal of the Horror who is the Mask of Messiah is being threatened, a team must be formed from some of the best of the Makai Knights and Makai Priests. The team name is SSBR (read: Saber), and the bearer of the Golden Knight title is the leader. He, alongside two fellow Knights and a Priestess, are assigned by the Watchdog of Vale Kingdom to help team RWBY and JNPR become the next great Hunters, all while protecting the kingdom from Horrors and Grimms.
    • Comments: The story itself covers the first two Volumes of RWBY's story, and the writer is currently writing the recently released third volume. While retaining the core of RWBY's story, it also incorporates the fight scenes and events from the TV series*, as well the anime continuity*. Of course, the writer also adds some originality to make the story fresh. One of the best examples is Ruby, while continuing her duty as a Huntress, she becomes a Makai Knight, once she inherits the Scorching Knight title: Yaiba*. Grammar and punctuation issues aside, overall it is a well-written story.

Plus, he was able to save Pyrrha and defeat Cinder, taking the Relic in the process. Next, he has some reasonable clout within in the Fatui, as most of its members address him with respect. As I said, there are only two chapters so far, but I'm already interested in what happens next, considering Childe has made his appearance in Atlas.

Rated T for language and the usual amount of blood you'll find in JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.
    • Comments: Young Joseph is a delight in this story. While RWBY certainly is no Slice of Life show, it's much more grounded than JJBA, and the calmer setting lets Joseph's bizarre personality clash with his situation. The RWBY characters are difficult to comment on, as I haven't caught up to where the author is writing from, but they seem in character even during their interactions with Joseph.

The Ex-Aid characters are blended very well into RWBY's setting (e.g: Professor Taiga; students Emu and Kiriya), and the other more minor crossovers with other game franchises don't feel forced at all. This was my inspiration for writing an Ex-Aid crossover fic; well worth the read!

    • Synopsis: Remnant. The world where Huntsmen and Huntresses live. For years they have fought Grimm without fear. But a new threat emerges from the afterlife. With these new monsters only one hero can save this world... And he only has 99 days before his power and life vanish forever...
    • Comments: Another good crossover between RWBY and Tokusatsu. While maintaining the original core stories between the two series, it also incorporates some original arcs to make the story fresh and interesting. Some of the original chapters involve not only the 15 Luminary Eyecons, but also the Legend Rider Eyecons and even some original Eyecons. It also introduces Ghost's predecessors like Wizard, OOO, Drive and even Decade as their mentors. In addition, several chapters also including original subplot, such as the romantic relationship between Weiss and one of the OC, the latter of whom is Kamen Rider Specter in this fic. A great crossover with great storytelling and character development.

    • Synopsis: A twist of fate sends Ruby Rose to a new world for an important task, a task that will change the very course of history for both Earth and Remnant: "It is time for the Heisei Kamen Riders to pass their power down to the future! But with the appearance of a simple, honest soul far from home, what will the future hold? Rejoice, for the birth of a new age!"
    • Comments: A well done story with Ruby being integrated into the world of Riders where her presence drastically alters Sougo’s journey. Examples include tossing out the Only One Me Allowed Right Now rule that was used in the first half of Zi-O, Ruby becoming a Rider herself, Sougo meeting past Riders in a different order compared to TV series canon and Swartz recruiting Tid and Finis. And the story brings in a unique twist, with arcs involving the Zi-O heroes visiting Remnant before returning back to their world with the rest of Ruby's team and making use of post series Rider stories like Ex-Aid's Another Ending Trilogy, the New World Cross-Z special and even the Zangetsu Stage Show.

    • Pairing(s): Sora/Ruby Rose, Lea aka Axel/Yang Xiao Long, Ventus/Weiss Schnee, Roxas/Xion, Aqua/Terra, Jaune Arc/Pyrrha Nikos, Riku/Namine, Kairi/Oscar Pine
    • Comments: A magnificent work thus far, adopted from fandombard12, lyokoMARVELanime has recrafted this crossover to encompass the events of Kingdom Hearts III except when Xehanort struck Kairi down, Sora WASN'T able to bring her back. As a result, Sora has lapsed into a Heroic BSoD, and has been training every single spare moment he has, from dawn to dusk, until Riku sends word that Yen Sid, who happens to be friends with Ozpin, who later turns out to be a Shipper on Deck for Roseheart aka Ruby x Sora, wishes to see him. Turns out Kairi's Not Quite Dead, thanks to a spell the Master of Masters had placed on No Name, and thus Sora, Roxas, Lea, and Ventus journey to Remnant and become the Huntsman Team SLVR (pronounced "Silver"). However, where there's a keyblade wielder there's bound to be Heartless and Nobodies this time led by Braig aka Xigbar aka Luxu, who's apparently aligned with Salem. Needless to say, hijinks and action ensue... and Sora finds himself developing feelings for Ruby that make him question his feelings for his old flame...

The Knight, Red Reaper, and Monkey Faunus will join a certain keyblade wielder as they travel many worlds to find their friends. While an Organization takes a keen interest in Jaune and Ruby.
    • Comments: This is very enjoyable with Ruby, Jaune and Sun going to various Disney worlds in order to find their friends who have been captured by Organization XIII. However, I'm more interested in the drama between Blake and Yang, as well as Jaune's brewing anger regarding Cinder killing Pyrrha, which honestly is the whole reason I'm invested in this fanfic. That aside, it's very good and the suspense will keep you on your toes.

Link, and the memories of his friends. But there is one common rule between their world and his. The Unknown has the Advantage. So he will remain just that as long as he can. [Pre-Season 3, Min-Canon Change]
    • Comments: The interactions between the characters are well written, and it does a good job of showing the various viewpoint characters thoughts and personalities, especially showing the personalities of the various masks. Pre-Season 3.
      • To be fair, this story has a lot of failing points. The characters are flat and defined by a single character, Ruby her cuteness, Yang her sister role, and most glaringly Blake has no personality beyond her obsession with the White Fang, which plays into her interactions with Link. Link is fairly well written, but his interactions with the students are somewhat difficult to work through. The author also has a habit of explaining things to the point of excess, between repeating explanations of something explained paragraphs before and general looping conversations. This plays into the characterization at times.

    • Comments: Takes place between A's and Strikers and begins just before RWBY: Volume 2. Does a good job of having the crossover characters throw 'for want of a nail' twists into Volume 2's plot without completely derailing it.

    • Comments: The Blue Huntsman is one of the most unique Megaman Crossover stories to have ever been written. Not only is the dialogue with the characters well developed, the story does well in exploring the black and white areas along with grey areas. The story get progressed bigger and bigger as more mysteries start to show up with fun surprises at every turn. Plus creating character devolvement that fair surpasses the canon show it has crossover with.

    • Synopsis: While on patrol after the good ending of Last Light, Artyom and the Dark One child (later named Malyshnote ) wake up on Remnant with no idea how they got there, and are rescued by team RWBY.
    • Comments: The interactions between Artyom, Malysh, and the cast of RWBY are well written, and the author does a great job of how many things the people of Remnant take for granted are absolutely amazing to Artyom (things like new clothes, green grass, flowers, fruit). Massively diverges from canon with Artyom and Malysh returning the power Cinder stole to Amber, and Amber killing Cinder. Also, Khan has (somehow) arrived on Remnant, searching for Artyom.

Now the people of Remnant must deal with this new and numerous threat. As the Tournament draws near, and the actions of the Uruk Leaders grows ever bolder, can peace truly be maintained?
    • Comments: Recommended to those who have played the Shadow of Mordor series. Warning, contains moments of intense violence, dark and dirty humor, and many canonical divergences. The story does a good job in taking an entire species of otherworldly, foreign monsters and have them adapt, grow, and even blend-in in an equally foreign world. As you can tell, this fic is about how these baddies interact with this new world around them, with the fic taking advantage of the game's Nemesis System to mold entirely unique and quirky characters. It has some grammar and spelling issues, though the read itself is engaging, with many battles and character interaction.

    • Crossover with My Hero Academia
    • Recommended by reppuzan

    • Pairings: Izuku Midoriya/Yang Xiao Long, Lie Ren/Nora Valkyrie
    • Summary: Ever since he was little, Izuku Midoriya knew that he wanted to be a Huntsman who could save others like his lifelong idol, Toshinori Yagi. But Izuku was born a Moon Child, meaning that his soul was so weak that it would never produce an Aura or a Semblance, making it virtually impossible for him to threaten the Grimm. But a twist of fate led him to meet the world's greatest Huntsman in person, who would then give Izuku the means to achieve his impossible dream. Now enroute to Beacon Academy, Izuku hopes to take his first steps towards becoming the world's greatest Huntsman.
    • Comments: The story is a Quest Fic (meaning that it's written as though the audience has a say in how the story goes) primarily centered around Izuku and his challenges in coming to Beacon. The author blends the RWBY and My Hero Academia seamlessly and shakes up canon to create an original story. Grammar and spelling could use work at times, but it's a worthwhile (and voluminous) read with a devoted fanbase and hundreds of canon and non-canon sidestories written by the author and fans.

    • Summary: While returning from Rescue training, Class 1-A, along with their teachers Aizawa and All Might, are suddenly brought to a strange world, full of monstruous creatures known as Grimm, but also with heroic Hunters and Huntresses who fight them and protect the people. With no way to return home, Headmaster Ozpin offers them to stay in Beacon and share their experiences with the local Hunters. With twenty heroes-in-training and their teachers getting involved in the plot, what will happen now to the world?
    • Comments: Beginning with Class 1-A returning from their time in Remnant, the story is framed as Izuku's tale to Principal Nezu and Detective Tsukauchi of Class 1-A's adventures in the strange world. The story shows how Remnant would be seen from a different point of view, as well as the clash of beliefs and cultures, but also the friendships formed between Heroes and Hunters and the impact the former have in the canon story. Highly recommended for fans of either series.

After they fix the moon first that is.
    • Comments: One of the best One Punch Man crossover fics out there. Each of the characters in this fic stay true to their canon personalities, such as Genos being serious about everything, and Saitama being his usual self. The humour is great, and the author does an amazing job of contrasting Saitama's general invulnerability and plainness with the other more complex characters in the RWBY universe.

    • Comments: A fantastic redemption arc story for Velvet Crowe. Velvet becomes naturally more heroic thanks Ruby who helps balances the character development. Not only is the story well paced, the character devolvement for the RWBY characters feel natural and not regressed compared to the actual canon. So there go our boys, traveling the dusty desert, until something happens that leaves them in a completely new world. Welcome to Remnant boys, I hope you get along with RWBY well...
    • Comments: Basically, the RED team ends up in Remnant and become teachers. It gets pretty cracky, but can still tell an endearing story.

  • RWBY: Rose In Black by The Pikamence
    • Recommended by Pikamencer 079
    • Crossover with Marvel Comics, mainly Venom
    • Status: Complete
    • Synopsis: The planet Remnant, several light years from Earth, is home to many young men and women who are willing to train to become Huntsmen and Huntresses, great warriors who combat the rampant evil plaguing the world. But what if something else made its way to this fantastic battleground, something more alien than even the Grimm? What if a symbiote landed onto Remnant?
    • Comments: A 'for want of a nail'-styled fic in which a symbiote crash-lands in Vale and bonds to Ruby Rose as she first enters Beacon, altering the trajectory of the first three volumes of the series and Ruby's growth as a Huntress-in-training. It also applies as an Alternate Continuity since some details (most notably the fate of Summer Rose) are altered before the divergence occurs for the sake of the story.

    • ''Comments: A post-Volume 8 tale where, after falling from Remnant, Ruby arrives on a sparsely populated Imperial world facing an Ork invasion. However, she arrived on the very eve of Cadia's Fall and will soon begin to make great ripples throughout the Era Indomitus. A fascinating premise, and one where the author delivers and even exceeds the potential put forward.

    • Comments: This is a great story. In this Tropers considered opinion that was formed after binging the heck out of RWBY and being a longtime fan of Warhammer RedRumSprinkles gives a great look at the brutality of the forty-first millennium's battle fields while staying true to Yang's characterization.

The people prospered under the faith, then came the Heretic King. Now the faith is outlawed, its members hunted as criminals, but hope remains. In hidden places, the faithful gather and pray to their God, awaiting the return of His Angels.
    • Comments: Fusion Fic, where Remnant is a Death World that banned The Imperial Truth after Mantle, the last kingdom that follow it, instigating and lose the Great War. Ruby and Jaune are secretly followers of Imperial Truth, while the rest of the team openly hates it. • Crossover with XCOM: Enemy Unknown

      • Sequel complete, with another sequel in progress
    • Synopsis: A strange anomaly causes the members of Team RWBY to find themselves in the midst of Earth's full-scale alien invasion with no way of returning to Remnant.
    • Comments: A beautifully written fanfic with amazing characterization and plot devices. Lovely take on what would happen if the Huntresses met XCOM and what would follow. Also combines elements from the Long War mod and is going to incorporate Remnant technology soon. Updates every Friday.
      • Seconding the recommendation. Fic is very well-written, characters from both sides are faithful to canon and greatly fleshed out, there are several impressive(if a bit controversial) plot twists, and there's a balance between action, drama and comedy. And thanks to well-done exposition, you don't even need to be XCOM fan to enjoy it - although it'll definitely help.
      • Warning: Contains, at least from the first handful of chapters, Jaune bashing, an absurdly trusting version of XCOM, game mechanics, and a removal of both the technology and powers from the RWBY cast in the name of 'balance', which, though it should bring the characters down to ordinary teenagers, brings them down to "trained soldier in combat armor with guns" within only a few days.
      • Thirded; though the first few chapters are a little slow and require a bit of So D, the story comes into its own with excellent characterization and combat, among other things.

    • Synopsis: Ruby Rose and a few other new students join Duel Academy.
    • Comments: Ruby and others join at the same time Jaden does. Due to the many RWBY characters, the continuity is different. The author usually uses the real world version of cards whenever possible. Later, a few characters from Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V appear, but only the ones who use Fusion monsters. Since this fic takes place during GX, the author is adamant that Synchro, XYZ, etc monsters will not appear.

    • Crossover with: Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V
    • Synopsis: This world, its kingdoms, and its inhabitants are beacons of hope, lights standing in the middle of an unforgiving darkness, standing proud and representing humanity victory against the odds; amongst them civilization and culture flourished, people forgot that in the midst of all we are mere...remnants, leftovers from a long bygone world. Things are about to change, old forgotten stories take on a new meaning, long-standing traditions will crumble and fall, and with it light might finally flicker and die, when humanity's haven finally fall, will you have the courage to step forward? Welcome to Remnant.
    • Comments: So far composed by 4 stories, this is a Fusion Fic which by following an alternate version with the main cast of Yu-gi-Oh Arc V series into the Remnant universe, follows the adventures of team RYGY note , with only some canon side characters appearing inside it; this fic is highly recommended if you like strong characterization and worldbuilding along with a plot-driven story because despite a total change of the main cast, the author does a great job at merging them into the setting without them feeling out of place, while the first couple of chapters could feel a little awkward in pacing and at times dialogue, it grabs the ball during the Beacon Initiation and keeps it that way; it's worth nothing the author has a lot of extra information in her blog about weapons, semblances and edits that help visualize the characters into their new setting (links on the author's profile)

So when she gets an invitation to join her sister at Beacon Duel Academy, she jumps at the chance. But old powers are stirring, and ancient summoning methods not seen in eons are about to clash, with the fate of Remnant in the balance.
    • Comments: A fusion of the world of Remnant and Duel Monsters, like his other works the author has managed to masterfully blend the setting of RWBY and Yu-Gi-Oh!. So far it’s been mostly Remnant with Duel Monsters, with only one character from the Yu-Gi-Oh! animes appearing. Time will tell if more appear. That being said, this is a must-have read for fans of Yu-Gi-Oh and RWBY

    • Comments: Though it is more a RWBY story than anything, the author masterfully blends the lores of the respective series and manages to grant a whole new appreciation for both works and the characters in them. It's dark, emotional, and epic in its execution. This is a must-read for anyone who is a fan of RWBY and Fate/Zero.

    • Crossover with Fate/stay night and Fate/Apocrypha
    • Status: Dormant (last updated December 2017)
    • Synopsis: To amuse himself, the alternate universe explorer Zelretch causes Mordred, the Knight of Treachery, to appear in Remnant and run into Jaune Arc, roughly six months before RWBY Vol 1 begins. Mordred seems to be human in that she doesn't need a prana source, but has her Noble Phantasms and other Servant abilities. With nothing better to do, Mordred decides to train Jaune and then attend Beacon with him.
    • Comments: With someone as tough as Mordred training him, Jaune becomes a lot more effective, doesn't have to fake his way into Beacon, and gets his Aura unlocked earlier, though he still has his Butt-Monkey moments. Fans are a bit divided because the author confirmed the official pairing will be Jaune / Mordred instead of Jaune / Pyrrha. The author is also adamant that Mordred will not get her Aura unlocked because he believes it would make her a Story-Breaker Power, and points out her Servant abilities make her powerful enough to contend with Grimm and Huntsmen and Huntresses anyway.

Will Remnant be prepared for the one named after the demon king?
    • Comments: Very well written, with an interesting plotline. The way some of the characters meet Agnika/Bael before the events of Volume 1 help shape who they are. It's humorous too. Sorry, I'm bad at writing stuff like this.

    • Synopsis: The call to becoming a great Huntsman or Huntress is one filled with challenges, triumphs and sorrow. Whether they liked it or not, Team HRRN need to learn that lesson together.
    • Comments: Off the heels of BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, this story follows in its footsteps by depicting an alternate version of RWBY mythos by incorporating characters from the other three games into it. RWBY is not formed here, leaving Ruby as the only girl on a team featuring Yu Narukami, Hyde and Ragna the Blooodedge. While in its introduction stages thus far, the author does a great job in reintroducing these concepts into the RWBY-verse and making things flow well given the changes.

      • Volume II: Having returned from a massive adventure in the world of Remnant, Ben, Team RWBY, and the rest of their friends find themselves faced with new challenges at every turn on Earth. Be it villains old and new… or even things that they never imagined to be real. It's going to be a challenge unlike any they've seen before, but they're up for it. It's Hero Time!
    • Comments: Not every day you got RWBY isekai fanfic that started mid-Battle for Beacon. the actions are fantastic, some characters get better character development, and really love seeing both the Earth's heroes and villains introduce the Remnant characters to Earth's media and culture. Some characters are retconned, like turning Thunderhog from a humanoid boar alien to a normal human and a friend to Human!Exo-Skull before Dr. Animo turned them to human/animal hybrid using Faunus DNA, and the crossover pairings are adorable.
