RWBY: Ghost of Remnant is a crossover fanfiction between RWBY and Kamen Rider, specifically Kamen Rider Ghost written by striberx.

This is Remnant. The world where Huntsmen and Huntresses live. They are elite warriors dedicated to protecting the world by slaying Grimm. However, unknown to them, there is a new threat emerging from the afterlife. An evil race of extra-dimensional creatures who invisible to the normal human eye, and also Faunus, who like to influence and even possess them in order to commit evil acts. Those creatures are called Ganma.

Enter Cody Aldrich, the main character of the story and a Huntsman in training from the Isle of the Dragon's Breath. After he defeats Roman Torchwick and his goons, he's invited by Headmaster Ozpin to join Beacon Academy. However, prior to his enrollment, Cody retells his backstory to Ozpin that he was killed by an Ancient Grimm and he was revived by a mysterious sage. The problem is, his resurrection is imperfect, as he is granted a limited half-life of about 99 days. In order to complete his resurrection, he must assemble all 15 Luminary Eyecons based of 15 different historical figures, otherwise he's dead for good. Ozpin understands and decides to enroll him into Beacon Academy.

Will Cody manage to assemble all Luminary Eyecons and come back to life? Thus does his adventure in Beacon Academy and Vale start.

RWBY: Ghost of Remnant provides examples of:

• Adaptational Badass: The original Kamen Rider Specter^note Makoto Fukami is more powerful than the original Kamen Rider Ghost^note Takeru Tenkuji, as the former is a seasoned fighter who easily curbstomped the latter. Specter here, on the other hand, not only retains his badassery like in the TV series, but he is also capable of unleashing his family's Semblance, the "Sword of Light", which is regarded as the most powerful Semblance in Remnant's history. Not to mention, he's also the one who manages to scare Adam with both his powers, as well as being the one and only person to survive his single stroke attack!
• Adaptational Heroism: Compared to the original OOO story, the First OOO in this fic is depicted as a legedary hero who fought creatures of Grimm and treated both humans and Faunus as equal.
• Apologetic Attacker: In the first chapter of Volume 2, during the Food Fight between Team RWBY and Cody against Team JNPR, when Cody faces Pyrrha, he teleports behind her, grabs her collar and apologized to her before he throws the female champion to Ruby.
• Badass Creed: The maxim of Saber family, as quoted by Axel.
  "A strong soul leads to a great future... A strong one will craft a sharp blade to cut through the darkness."
• Back from the Dead: In the Chapter 2 of Volume 2, Kaito Kumon is now reborn in Remnant, seeking challenge to Cody and Axel in order to gain his respect, by using his power as Kamen Rider Baron and Lord Baron. At the end of the chapter, he discusses with Tsukasa about something bad that will happen soon in Vale, presumably concerning Cinder's group and the White Fang movement, as well Ganma activities in Remnant.
• Badass Family: Alongside with Ruby and Yang, this fic also introduces the Saber family, as Axel and Luna. They are the last surviving members of Saber family which is regarded as the owner of the most powerful Semblance in Remnant's history, as well as being the rightful owners of Saber mansion. Cody is also considered as a part of his family since his parents adopted him and Luna.
• Badass Teacher: While all of the Beacon Academy staff are skilled Huntsmen and Huntresses, the most shining example of this fic is Avian Cureoir, the avian Faunus and the inheritor of the first Multi-King's power as Kamen Rider OOO, despite that he's a substitute teacher.
• Big "WHAT?!": Happens in several chapters, mostly done by either Team RWBY or Team JNPR or even both.
  • In Volume 1.
    • Chapter 6: Team RWBY, surprised at Specter who shares the same Ghost Driver as Cody.
    • Chapter 8: Cody and the rest of Team RWBY, surprised that Specter is Weiss' crush.
    • Chapter 11: Cody and Yang shocked at Newton Eyecon is talks to them about how he loves humanity potential.
    • Chapter 13: Both Team RWBY and Team JNPR, shocked at Jacob and Mr. Belt as the detective transforms into Kamen Rider Drive and his fight with Specter ensues.
    • Chapter 14: Team RWBY and Team JNPR take the revelation very well after both teams learn that all the VVIP tickets Cody bought for them and the Saber siblings are from his older sister Aurora.
    • Chapter 15: Once again, Team RWBY and Team JNPR exclaim in surprise after learning that all Hikari Studio crews are Dimensional Travelers.
    • Chapter 16: Team RWBY, shocked after Ruby introduces Billy the Kid Ghost in front of the rest of her team.
    • Chapter 18: Again, Team RWBY and Team JNPR shouted in unison after Sun reveals that his grandfather is one of Bruce Lee's apprentices.
  • In Volume 2.
    • Chapter 3: Team RWBY and Team JNPR are thunderstruck with Axel's Finishing Move which decimating not only the Monster of the Week, but also the half of Saber mansion and the entire forest at the mountain side.
• Cool Big Sis: Aurora. She's not only beautiful and charming, but also supportive and caring towards her younger brother Cody and to some extent, Axel and Luna, even if they are not related by blood. Even Ruby and Yang are amused and impressed by their bonds.
• Disposable Vagrant: The Council, through Ironwood and his Atlesian soldiers, intend to capture Cody and his Eyecons for examination. Axel is obviously less than amused.
• Downer Ending: While Volume 3 is... well, Volume 3, it also ends with Adel shattering Cody's Eyecon and destroying his body not unlike how Takeru died in the episode he gained his Mugen Damashii.
• The Dreaded: Specter in this story is regarded as the most notorious Serial Killer for bad guys by underground criminals and White Fang, to the point where they refer to him as "The Blue Devil of Remnant". Especially by White Fang, as whenever they try to commit a violent act, he always knows where they are and when it will happen. As a result, some of the members who faced him are traumatized to the point where they have decided to quit from the organization! Needless to say, Sun is really scared by his presence, even though he's now sided with Cody and his friends.
• Drill Sergeant Nasty: Despite becoming Cody's adoptive older brother, Axel returns to his former stoic and ruthless persona in order to make Cody stronger and more on par with Alain. Considering he's a former Ganma commander, it is no surprise he becomes a relentless but demanding combat teacher for his younger brother. It's no surprise that both Team RWBY and Team JNPR (particularly from Jaune, Nora and Ren) are scared by his presence, not helped that Axel wears his old uniform that is similar to Alain's.
• Foreshadowing: At the end of Chapter 15 of Volume 1, the Hikari Studio crew saw a unique backdrop unlike any other. The backdrop itself depicts a red sky with several Ganma Eyecons floating above it and a dark forest with dozens of Grimm, as well a silhouetted female figure. At the center the of backdrop was Beacon, with Team JNPR and Team RWBY on the left and right respectively, Cody and Axel in the middle, and Ore and Specter Parka Ghost floating above them. Finally, Alain as Necrom appears behind both Cody and Axel. This foreshadows that something bad will come to Vale, thus all Riders in Vale must be prepared for when this problem arrives.
• Heroic Lineage: All of the Saber family members are regarded as the greatest Hunstmen and Huntresses in Remnant, and one of them is King Arthur, Axel's ancestor. Yes, that King Arthur.
• Knight of Cerebus: While Cinder and her associates are pretty much responsible for the tone shift in the story, Alain as Kamen Rider Necrom pretty much blows them all out of the water in terms of presence and how they first debuted. How you may ask? By curbstomping Cody with his powers, then proceeds to incapacitate him by using a deadly Semblance which is capable to bypassing the Aura of humans and possibly Faunus. If not for Luna's Healing Hands, his career as Huntsman in training would have been done for, even if he was able to get his wish to live again.
• Love Confession: At the end of Chapter 5 of Volume 2, Yang finally confesses her love to Cody after she apologizes to him for getting mad at him after she saw Cody get along with Emerald.
• Massive Multiplayer Crossover: Although not as much as Weiss Reacts, the fic itself pretty much unites all of the Kamen Rider series in the RWBY universe. So far, the fic features:
  • Kamen Rider Wizard: The Ringed Wizard appears in front of Ghost, Specter and Team RWBY when both Ghost Riders are overwhelmed by two Phantoms.
  • Kamen Rider OOO: A Faunus OC named Avian Cureoir is depicted as a successor of the First OOO. Acting as a substitute teacher, he's reminding Axel/Specter to gain a greater power, so long as his desires do not overwhelm him.
  • Kamen Rider Drive: Krim Steinbelt AKA Mr. Belt appears alongside with another original character named Jacob Crimson of Remnant's World Police appears to help Team RWBY, Team JNPR and Axel to solve a cargo theft that is caused by a Roidmude, all while proving Cody's innocence.
  • Kamen Rider Decade: Tsukasa, Yusuke and Natsumi appears at Remnant. Both Tsukasa and Yusuke explains the number of Riders, as well as the feud between Showa Riders and Heisei Riders.
  • Kamen Rider Gaim: Kaito is now reborn in Remnant and seeks to challange Cody and Axel. Kouta, on the other hand, briefly appears in front of Ruby and prevents her from picking Helheim fruits when she's lost in Helheim Forest. Kouta also gives his Orange Lockseed to Ruby as a Memento MacGuffin for Cody before she returns to the real world.
  • Kamen Rider Kiva: Another original character named Vlad Maxwell appears in front of Axel when he is overwhelmed by a group of Rat Fangires. He is cold and cynical towards Axel at first, but after listening to Axel's story, he takes an interest in him and decides to work with him to rescue Weiss.
• Megaton Punch: Done by Yang after she caught Cody kissing Emerald.
• Phrase Catcher: Cody shouts Musashi Damashii's transformation announcement when he attacks Nora with baguettes as makeshift twin swords.
• Rage Breaking Point: Cinder, who spent most of her time being calm, cunning and calculative, becomes pissed off after she learns there are two surviving members of Saber family.
  Cinder: I... missed two?
  [growls, with flames erupting in her hands as she accidentally slowly melts her Scroll]
  Cinder: How? I thought that the Blue Devil was the only one, but TWO?!
  [the room starting to steam with her anger]
  Cinder: SABERS ONLY HAVE ONE CHILD! ONE! SO HOW CAN THERE BE TWO?!
• Shout-Out: In Chapter 3 of Volume 2, Axel as Specter Excalibur Damashii unleashes Excaliblast to finish off Alexander the Great Ganma.
• Sole Survivor: Both Axel and Luna are the last members of Saber family after their parents were killed by a mysterious person. Chapter 6 of Volume 2 reveals that Cinder and Salem are responsible for murdering their parents.
• Their First Time: During the second visit to the Isle of the Dragon's Breath, Axel and Weiss share a "good time" inside Axel's room with Weiss teaching Axel how to be a "good man".
• Training from Hell: In order to become stronger and more on par with Alain, Cody is more than willing to endure Axel's gruesome methods of training. Yang, whom volunteers herself as Cody's training partner, even admits that her training with Qrow is like child's play when compared to Axel's.
