- Comments: What if Max is eternal and wanders back and forth through the Wastes? Stunning fic that makes you hungry for more.
- "His name is Max Rockatansky, and he drove historic on the Fury Road". As short as the fic is, it perfectly sums up the entire series in just one sentence. Highly recommended.
The Length and Breadth of Fury Road

- Comments: The author tells a fascinating story of what might well have happened post-movie in terse, evocative prose. Hard-hitting, believable, and doesn't flinch away from the ugliness of Fury Road's world — not everything will automatically end with flowers and a triumphant soundtrack, just because Joe is dead and the band got back to the Citadel. May technically be marked as shipping, but as of now the story's nearly 45k words in and Max and Furiosa have yet to cross paths directly once again. If it's shipping, it's a mighty slow burn.

They're not such a stranger after all.
Jim Goose lives, and Max doesn't know how to deal with it. - Comments: A really engaging premise, especially in the resurgence of popularity for Mad Max that Fury Road has created, which seems to have forgotten the characters of the original movies. Despite being the catalyst of the entire series, Goose very rarely get any mention at all, something this fic sets out to fix.

- Comments: Short, but great, and the appearance of the Gyro Captain makes it even better.

- Comments: Phenomenal fic. Semi fix-it, focusing on the family and friend style relationships in the Citadel before and after the escape and return. Includes exploration of War Boy culture, and what becomes of the discarded and escaped Wives.

- Synopsis: A coffee shop AU. Except more complicated. A small town setting, Furiosa is the local mechanic, too much a black sheep in town to be having the easiest time of it. Max is working the local coffee shop, for something to do and a soft place to land while he recovers from raging PTSD incurred during his police work, and Citadel, Australia, is about as small and sleepy a place as it's possible to get, right? This is a love story, hinged around a missing person, a suspected homicide, a broken carburetor, and a mutual disdain for pretentious coffee.
- Pairings: Max/Furiosa, Capable/Nux.
- Tags: violence, romance, mentions of past physical abuse, at least one very detailed heterosexual sex scene.
- Comments: I usually hate coffee shop AU's, but this one has heart, good characterization, and great writing. I just can't get enough.

- Comments: sxevlbtch has been writing sublime River-centric fics for years, and this one's no exception. Particularly interesting is how she finds the common thread between Mad Max and Firefly - what makes their worlds harsh isn't living in the shadow of war, or even the scarcity of resources, but being trapped in the shadow of powerful forces with no regard for the world they live in.

- Synopsis: A kick-ass, energetic vid set to My Chemical Romance's Look Alive, Sunshine / Na Na Na. The editing is crisp, the lyric-imaging matchups top-notch, and the tempo frenetic — absolutely a high-energy wild thrill ride.
- Comments: When this troper first started considering making Fury Road fanvids, this was the first one seen. It inspired a whole lot of consideration and creativity — if you liked MMFR and you enjoy fanvids, there's not enough recs I can give it.

- Synopsis: Full-throttle wild ride of a fanvid, with a pounding guitar track worthy of the Doof Wagon itself. The vid also experiments with a lot of fascinating visual distortions and edits, well-synchronized with the music, and makes for a fascinating, vivacious quick watch.
