Go To

TDWT Reducks Redux is a Fix Fic for Total Drama World Tour by The Kobold Necromancer, the Fandom VIP best known for his Total Drama Comeback Series.

The seventeen contestants who originally qualified for World Tour, plus Katie (now having to compete without Sadie for the first time), return for the third season to compete for $1,000,000. However, things are going to go quite differently from the canon season, with new storylines, no mandatory musical numbers, a new elimination order, modified team compositions (Katie now joins Team Amazon while Duncan and Ezekiel have switched teams), and plenty of shocking swerves along the way. If you're a fan of Harold, Bridgette, or Ezekiel, you will definitely be happy to know they are not the first ones eliminated this time. However, brace yourself however if you love Chris McLean and the way he runs the show.

You can read the story here. Sadly, the fic died after its eighth chapter (which completed its version of the fourth canon episode) and has not been updated since 2013. While the author did announce plans to do a remake, nothing came out of it, and to this day, this version remains the only one.

This story shows examples of:

  • #1 Dime: Apparently, Ezekiel's hat has a lot of sentimental value to him, as it previously belonged to his grandfather and he gave it to Ezekiel before he died.
  • Accidental Kiss: In the Yukon, Bridgette has one echoing her canonical incident with Alejandro, but this time it's with Ezekiel.
  • Adaptation Expansion: Katie is added to the season's participating contestants.
  • Adaptation Name Change: Team Chris is Really Really Really Really Hot is called Team Chris is Really Really Really Ugly in this fic, due to Izzy coming up with the name in response to Chris' mistreatment of Ezekiel rather than Sierra coming up with it.
  • Adapted Out: The mandatory singing element is removed outright, as Duncan uses privileges he earned from winning the previous season to veto Chris' proposal for mandatory musical numbers. However, the contestants do engage in song just for fun during the Yukon challenge when Lindsay suggests they do so.
  • Amicable Exes: Owen and Izzy become this after the former decides the latter is too much for him to handle. Izzy has no problem with the decision and is happy to remain friends.
  • And There Was Much Rejoicing: When Chris is eliminated, the contestants celebrate and all begin to enjoy their time on the show much more greatly.
  • Ascended Extra: Ezekiel, Harold, and Bridgette go from the first three contestants eliminated in the canon season to being some of the most focused characters in the story.
  • Author Appeal
    • The author ships Noah/Katie. According to Word of God, Katie's main role is to be The Heart of Team Amazon, which is wild with emotions.
    • The Bridgette/Harold, Bridgette/Ezekiel, and Ezekiel/Izzy Ship Tease (despite the fact that Bridgette is still with Geoff in the story).
    • Kobold clearly enjoyed setting Chris up for a great fall. No Karma Houdini there!
    • Let's face it: half the reason this fic exists is just so Ezekiel fans can get a real season with him instead of that "Feral Zeke" storyline.
  • Better as Friends: Ezekiel and Bridgette become this, due to the former having gotten over his feelings for the latter and now falling for Izzy instead. This also occurs between Owen and Izzy.
  • Dead Fic: As of July 2013, as confirmed by Word of God here, with him explaining that the project would be dropped in favor of a new version with the Revenge of the Island cast being among the season's newcomers (and Katie being removed in their place). Unfortunately, nothing came out of this new plan.
  • Demoted to Extra: Alejandro and Sierra get far less focus than in the canon version of the season, same with Heather and Cody.
  • Fix Fic: Of World Tour, a season Kobold despises primarily for what it did to Ezekiel, his favourite character. However, other elements he has issues with are "fixed", such as the treatment of Team Victory (especially Bridgette and Harold, two other favorites of his) and the character of Alejandro (whom he despises with a burning passion).
  • Funetik Aksent: As in his previous fic Love Ain't Easy, It's Ezzy, Kobold writes Ezekiel's thick Canadian accent phonetically.
Ezekiel: So, according to Izzy, girls woo'd love to have these... but fur some reason, I doo'nt think Bridgette woo'd really go fur them, eh.
  • Human Snowball: Tyler accidentally causes one in the Yukon that swallows up all of the contestants and their sleds.
  • I Want My Beloved to Be Happy: In the fourth chapter, Tyler reluctantly agrees to end his relationship with Lindsay so that she can replace Chris as host and fulfill her dreams of hosting a TV show (since she cannot have any relationships with the contestants while hosting Total Drama).
  • Interspecies Romance: Katie/Panda Cub Ship Tease in Chapter 5, and Cody/Camel earlier. Neither is meant to be taken seriously, though.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: Chris McLean, in spades. Kobold’s vehement loathing for the character shines in the massive amounts of humiliation and abuse he puts the character through, from getting fired as host to being eliminated from his own show. And Word of God is that things would have continued to get worse for the (ex-)Host with the Most were it not for the story becoming a Dead Fic.
  • Kick the Dog: And while he's down for that matter! After Leshawna ends her on-and-off relationship with Harold for good, Duncan uses the opportunity to seize control of Harold's commercial for the challenge and direct it. The results entirely focus on Duncan bullying the depressed Harold and literally stepping all over him, as well as even kissing Leshawna right in front of him.
  • King Incognito: It turns out that Billy the Intern is actually Chris’ boss pretending to be an intern.
  • Love Dodecahedron: If one takes those LoveTriangles listed below and adds Ship Tease with Tyler/Gwen, Duncan/Leshawna, Ezekiel’s crush on Bridgette and the fact that she’s still dating Geoff, Alejandro's plans to seduce Bridgette...
  • Love Triangle:
    • The canonical Gwen/Duncan/Courtney one is present, albeit with much less focus (although Alejandro hints at some plans to charm Gwen into "following her heart").
    • There are implications of Lindsay/Harold/Bridgette (although Harold acknowledges Bridgette's relationship with Geoff and begs for Geoff not to kill him in a confessional), Ezekiel/Bridgette/Geoff (although Ezekiel has much more respect for their relationship than he does in canon), and Ezekiel/Izzy/Owen (after Ezekiel gets over his feelings for Bridgette).
  • Made of Iron: Chef survives a fall from over 50 thousand feet into pavement and merely has to stay in the hospital for the rest of the day. He's perfectly fine once the contestants depart Japan.
  • Morality Pet: DJ is this for Duncan, due to him being the only member of Team Victory he actually gets along with.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: Bridgette and DJ both feel this way at the end of the Yukon challenge after accidentally kissing Ezekiel and hurting so many animals respectively. Owen reacts similarly when he accidentally breaks Noah's arm during the same challenge.
  • Mythology Gag: While in the Yukon, Bridgette tells Ezekiel that when her friends back home once dared her to kiss a pole and she got her tongue stuck on it, referencing what happened to her in canon.
  • No Man Left Behind: Declared by Tyler and Izzy in the third chapter when the two save Ezekiel from being eaten by crocodiles.
  • Occidental Otaku: This trait of Harold's is emphasized during their trip to Japan.
  • Odd Friendship:
    • Sardonic bookworm Noah and Big Fun optimist Owen, as per canon, although it's even more emphasized than it was in the canon season.
    • Kindhearted Brainless Beauty Lindsay and sadistic Scary Black Man Chef develop one as Chef guides Lindsay in running the show.
    • Naive homeschooled farmboy Ezekiel and Ax-Crazy Manic Pixie Dream Girl Izzy too, thanks to the two being on Team Chris together this time.
    • Granola Girl surfer Bridgette and nerdy Harold as well, largely over their mutual dislike of their teammate Duncan (who returns the enmity).
  • Operation: Jealousy: Implied to be the reason why Duncan is hitting on so many girls other than Courtney.
  • Power Trio: Gwen, Bridgette, and Leshawna, who are always hanging together between challenges. Gwen even makes the two promise not to vote for Duncan if they lose, while Leshawna and Bridgette are concerned for how she is faring on the same team as Heather.
  • Revenge Fic: Has elements of this directed at Chris.
  • Shipper on Deck:
    • Izzy for Ezekiel/Bridgette, despite Ezekiel's protests that Bridgette is already taken.
    • Gwen ships Cody/Courtney, but it seems that she does it just to kill two birds with one stone.
  • Ship Sinking:
    • Bridgette/Ezekiel, since Ezekiel didn't feel good about hitting on a girl who was already with someone.
    • Like in canon, this is the case with Owen/Izzy. Additionally, Lindsay/Tyler is sunk, while Harold/Leshawna have the book closed on them for good this time.
  • Ship Tease: Over a dozen possible couples are teased, not even counting the Official Couples in place at the start.
  • Shout-Out: The blonde intern and executive producer of the show is named William "Billy" Overbeck.
  • Song Parody: In Chapter 8, the contestants sing a parody of "Weird Al" Yankovic's "Skipper Dan" called "Yukon Sled Ride".
  • Spotlight-Stealing Squad: Ezekiel, Harold, Bridgette, and Izzy get the most focus out of all the season's contestants, which is somewhat ironic given how the first three were the first contestants eliminated in the canon version.
  • The Stations of the Canon: DJ's animal curse plot still occurs (although it doesn't drag on for as long due to DJ eliminating himself early), Owen and Izzy still break up (although it occurs earlier and they become Just Friends), and Alejandro still schemes to get Harold and Bridgette eliminated in Japan and Yukon respectively (although his strategies don't pan out).
  • Team Member in the Adaptation: Duncan is put on Team Victory instead of Team Chris (and he's there from the start rather than joining at the halfway point, due to not quitting at the beginning this time), while the reverse applies to Ezekiel. Also, Katie (who did not participate in the canon season) is a member of Team Amazon.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Duncan for Team Victory and Alejandro for Team Chris.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: Chris and Duncan are both much meaner and nastier than in the canon season, especially towards Ezekiel and Harold respectively.
  • Welcome to Hell: Chris says this to DJ when he captures him during his elimination.
  • Wham Episode: Chapter four, the end of the Egyptian challenge (a rare positive example). Chris gets dethroned and Lindsay replaces his job as the host.
  • You Must Be Cold: Ezekiel to Izzy, after she jumps in the water during the Yukon challenge.
