This page provides subjective tropes for the TDWT Reducks Redux.
- Crack Pairing: As expected. There's Ship Tease for Bridgette/Harold, Tyler/Gwen, Harold/Lindsay, Ezekiel/Izzy, Duncan/Leshawna, Bridgette/Ezekiel, Noah/Katie, Cody/Courtney...
- Funny Moments:
- In Japan, Harold buys DJ a plush rabbit to make him feel better about all the animals he keeps hurting under his curse. As soon as DJ touches it, the head falls off.
- Lindsay's hurricane of Accidental Innuendos when she attempts to explain the game show challenge in Japan. Cue all the other contestants trying not to laugh and ultimately failing, with Lindsay being completely unable to understand what's so funny.
- Heartwarming Moments:
- Harold and Lindsay buying gifts for all of Team Victory while in Japan. It also leads to an incredibly adorable moment when Harold gives Bridgette a dolphin plushie, causing her to Squee with delight and thank him.
- Owen and Izzy becoming Just Friends after the Yukon challenge. While it is unfortunate that they still break up like in canon, it's sweet to see them end their relationship on a much more positive note.
- Hilarious in Hindsight: At the end of the Japan challenge, Izzy convinces her teammates to vote for Chris during the elimination ceremony to get rid of him for the good. Come the 2023 reboot, newcomer Zee would try this exact same thing. Unlike with Izzy however, it doesn't work.
- Moment of Awesome:
- The revelation that Billy the Intern is actually the executive producer. He then proceeds to berate the hell out of Chris for being a sadistic, materialistic jackass. He then DEMOTES CHRIS TO COHOST, making him unable to squander the budget and alter the rules, and forcing him to actually help make the challenges. After all his douchebaggery, he's totally earned that.
- After Chris declares Team Chris the losers of the Japan challenge for no reason other than his personal hatred of Ezekiel, Izzy convinces her team into unanimously voting Chris off his own show in order to save Zeke. The best part is that her plan ACTUALLY WORKS, with Chef then tossing the ex-host off the plane.
- Tear Jerker:
- Tyler's breakup with Lindsay in Egypt. The two had just reunited when Tyler is forced to break up with her so that Lindsay can take the role of host. And in front of everyone else for that matter.
- Leshawna permanently ending her on-and-off relationship with Harold. The poor nerd is just so crushed by it, and even Leshawna feels bad about having to break it to him. And to add insult to injury, Duncan takes advantage of both of his teammates' devastation to torment them for his own amusement.
- The Woobie:
- Poor Harold... While in Japan, his dream destination, he finds himself crushed when Leshawna, the woman he loves more than any other, breaks it to him that she has absolutely no interest in getting back together. And then during Harold's depression over it, Duncan hijacks the production of the commercial for the challenge and uses it to humiliate him even further.
- Tyler too. It's really hard not to feel bad for him when he's forced to break up with Lindsay in front of everyone and on international TV so that she can pursue her lifelong dream job.
