Izuku and Ochako are Jedi padawans who were having a relatively normal day at the temple with Izuku’s master, Toshinori Yagi. That is, until the course of history decided to change forever that night. Until they heard those dreadful words uttered to the clones around them.

Strays in the Night contains examples of:
- Adaptational Job Change: Most of the Pro Heroes characters are Jedi Masters and Knights while hero students are Padawans.
- Anyone Can Die: As expected from a story set during the most devastating massacre in Science fiction history, several characters are killed both on and off-page. No one, adult or Padawan is spared
- Ryukyu and Vlad King are killed off-page when the council attempts to aprehend Palpatine in Chapter 1.
- Mirio, Tamaki, Nejire, Yo Shindo, Tatami Nakagame, Fumikage, Sero, Midnight, Shirakumo and Gran Torino are killed during Vader's attack at the Jedi Temple in Chapter 2.
- Break the Cutie: All Padawans go trough this during the events of Order 66. At one moment they were all Jedi in training enjoying themselves and preparing for the eventual end of the war. Next thing they know, the Clones, their loyal comrades all start to kill them, their masters and friends dying left and right and all of them have to run and fight for their lives. For specific examples:
- Mina completely breaks down with Fumikage's death, with Hitoshi's influence being the only preventing her from getting killed during their escape.
- Denki goes trough one after Sero takes a shot meant to him, to the point he would have died in his place.
- Composite Character: Jin Bubaigawara takes Jango Fett's place as the bounty hunter used as base for the Clones.
- Mythology Gag: An extremely dark and heartbreaking one. Oboro is crushed by debris during the attack at the Jedi Temple. And much like in canon, it doesn't kill him immeadiatly. It takes Anakin ordering the 501st clones to finish him off.
- Shipper on Deck: Himiko is one to Izuku and Ochako. Toshinori is one as well, although far more subtle about it.
