Street Fighting Heroes is an ongoing Fusion Fic written by Rainy__Day between My Hero Academia, Street Fighter, and various other fighting game franchises. The story follows Izuku Midoriya where, after years of bullying, Inko decides to take him to learn martial arts. They eventually find a gym run by Ken and Ryu, who train him alongside Ryouya Harushi in the Shotokan style.

Currently being rewritten as fittingly Super Street Fighting Heroes: Turbo adjustments will come in time.

Street Fighting Heroes provides examples of:

  • Adaptational Badass:
    • Midoriya has quite a bit of this going for him. Though he doesn't gain One for All in this scenario, his knowledge of the Shotokan style means that he's already a capable fighter in his own right by the time UA rolls around, even using his Ki Lightning to impressive effect by making it double as electromagnetism.
    • Momo was trained by Chun Li (with some ki training) and with making friends sooner, has more confidence.
    • Uraraka is made the recipient of One For All, and also gains significant hand to hand skills, specifically in wrestling courtesy of combat training from R. Mika.
  • Adaptational Early Appearance:
    • At Age 9, Izuku meets Setsuna Tokage, Yui Kodai, Itsuka Kendo and Momo Yaoyorozu at a Martial Arts tournament.
    • Izuku also meets Ochako early, due to them both training under All Might.
  • Age Lift: Rumi (Miruko) is about the same age as Izuku and Ryoya.
  • Betty and Veronica: Rumi is the Veronica to Momo's Betty and Ryouya's Archie. Setsuna could also count as the Cheryl of the love triangle.
  • Big Bad: A triumvirate, per Word of God.
    • For Uraraka; the League of Villains.
    • For Izuku; Flect Turn and the Humarise cult.
    • For Ryoya; M. Bison, and Shadaloo, with hints at potentially Akuma.
  • Bullying a Dragon: Shigaraki can’t stop immaturely insulting M. Bison, despite knowing how powerful the man is and that it also runs the risk of infuriating All For One.
  • Calling Your Attacks: Ironically enough, Ryouya of all people indulges in some of this. If you want to know why, getting some training from one Terry Bogard probably helped.
  • Charles Atlas Superpower: A general effect of Ki training, as Izuku finds himself far stronger, tougher, and faster than before he started. He and Ryoya are often mistaken to have strength Quirks.
  • Crippling Overspecialization: Todoroki. In addition to refusing to use his fire side, Todoroki has no hand-to-hand combat skill, or counters for people who can bypass his ice.
  • Crossover Villain-in-Chief: Bison and Shadaloo are this. They are far more deadlier and competent than Shigaraki and the League and since Bison can go toe-to-toe with All Might, is clear that he matches if not, surpasses, All for One in power.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Nomu Vs. M. Bison. The poor bastard Nomu didn’t stand a chance as it gets eviscerated.
  • Curb Stomp Cushion: Despite Izuku clearly holding the upper hand, Bakugo does show great skill with his Quirk use and nearly lands several good hits on him. He repeats this later against Uraraka, though they're more even at first.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Most of the story's particularly snarky lines come from Ryouya's mouth, mainly matching his casual attitude.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Todoroki mentally admits this when facing Ryouya with the simplistic mindset of “freeze my opponent with overwhelming power”. Cue Ryoya using his own fire ki to melt the ice, or smash through it with his martial arts, and proceeding to use Todoroki’s stomach as a punching bag.
    • At the Sports Festival, Shinsou brainwashes Ryoya to be part of his team during the cavalry battle, and then lifts the brainwashing so he can actually use his abilities during the event. He then sees how pissed Ryoya is, and realizes it had been a stupid idea.
  • Discard and Draw: This is how Izuku describes learning ki. It’s stated that the closer to a base human one is, the easier and more proficient you can wield it. A Quirkless individual, such as himself, or a Quirk that doesn’t alter the body significantly, like Momo, has a higher potential than say, Todoroki, whose powerful quirk means he’d barely have access to it.
  • Drama-Preserving Handicap: While All Might is a legitimate match for M. Bison, the former’s injury makes a battle of attrition a risky move and it’s an obvious weak point that Bison targets.
  • Expy: On a surface level, Ryouya can be considered an expy of Baki Hanma, due to their similar character traits and backstory about their family lineage, though according to Word of God, this was unintentional.
  • Foil: Izuku and Ryouya work as foils in a similar sense to Ryu and Ken in how their combat styles work, though there are differences. Izuku is an analytical fighter preferring to focus on the most efficient method, whilst Ryouya is more prone to take an aggressive approach while fighting.
  • Glass Cannon: Bakugo is very fast, skilled, and powerful with his quirk, but he isn’t very good at taking hits.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: Todoroki REALLY has it out for Ryouya, as the latter's fire-based abilities remind him of Endeavor’s.
  • Kame Hame Hadoken: Izuku and Ryoya are capable of doing the original article.
  • I Reject Your Reality: Bakugo, Endeavor, and Todoroki are completely incapable of accepting that Izuku and Ryouya are as strong as they are, yet are completely quirkless, despite many sources telling them.
  • Know When to Fold 'Em: Deconstructed somewhat based on circumstance. It’s shown that not knowing when to back down, or rethink things costs certain characters.
    • Shigaraki mouthing off to M. Bison results in a destroyed Nomu, his own humiliation, and potentially costing All For One a valuable allegiance.
    • Tetsutetsu refuses to throw in the towel when Ryouya has him in an arm lock, citing it as “unmanly”. Cue a broken arm.
  • Mundane Utility: The Intimidating Slow Walk works very well when clearing out crowded hallways when Izuku and Ryouya are trying to get to class.
  • No-Sell: To his surprise, Aizawa finds out that he can’t nullify Izuku or Ryouya’s ki based abilities.
  • Oh, Crap!: Bakugo thinks a more profane version multiple times when during his match with Uraraka, she not only no sells a point-blank explosion to the face, but a missed punch from her massively craters the arena.
  • Original Character: Ryoya is this.
  • Related in the Adaptation: Setsuna is Midnight's niece here.
  • Squishy Wizard: Todoroki has a lot of raw power with his ice, but get past that and hit him with a good physical hit, he goes down quickly.
  • Strong and Skilled: Most Pro Heroes quickly learn to become this. All Might points out that no worthy hero is a one-trick pony, and adopts a Boxing Battler fighting style or switches stances during his fight with M. Bison.
  • Unflinching Walk: Played for Laughs. All Might calls it the Intimidating Slow Walk, and states it a known technique. Both Ryouya and Izuku are capable of it and it even catches Aizawa off guard.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Ryouya describes a great deal of quirk users as this, using Bakugo and Todoroki as examples. While the latter two are strong using their quirks, they have very little experience in hand-to-hand combatant or know how to counter those who can get in close or bypass their Quirks. During one early exam, Todoroki has little beyond “freeze Ryoya with overwhelming power”, and ends up on the receiving end of a No-Holds-Barred Beatdown as a result.
  • Villain Respect: Bison finds himself respecting All Might when he sees him taking a boxing stance rather than swinging wildly at him.
  • Villain Takes an Interest: Izuku catches the interest of Humarise, due to being Quirkless yet having the power to rival powerful Quirks.
  • The Worf Effect:
    • The anti-All Might Nomu? Killed with barely any effort by M. Bison.
    • Bakugo hasn’t won a single fight, first to Izuku, and later Uraraka.
  • Worthy Opponent: M. Bison seems to view All Might as this.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Bakugo doesn’t hold back in his match with Uraraka. It doesn’t help him at all, as she beats him into unconsciousness.
