The Story Shuffle series of anthologies of oneshot My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic fanfics inspired by Magic: The Gathering cards, are written by FanOfMostEverything.

  • Alliterative Title: The series is called Story Shuffle.
  • Drama Panes:
    • Story Shuffle: From "Matters of Interest", just a glance, but still important. It's a reference to Luna's control over the night and how she wasn't active for a millennium.
      "Celestia."
      "Good evening, Luna."
      Luna looked out the window. As with her, the stars were coming out. She smiled a little. "Yes, it is. I am proud to have had a hoof in making it so once more."
    • Story Shuffle 2: Double Masters: "How Not To Luau'': Twilight looks out the window at an erupting volcano.
  • Flashy Teleportation: Teleportation by both ponies and Discord are accompanied by flashes of light:
    • The first series, with Discord, in "Guest Speaker":
      Everypony outside, there's learning to be had!" And with a flash of light, he vanished from the classroom.
    • The second series, with Discord, using it to leave a mind, in "We Are, Each of Us, a Multitude":
      No sense spending all day lost in your thoughts." He snapped his talons, and light consumed his vision.
  • Named After First Installment: Named after the first entry in the anthology series, "Story Shuffle." It's a series of anthologies based on a card game, which involves shuffling.
  • Numbered Sequels: Story Shuffle, was followed by Story Shuffle 2: Double Masters.
  • One-Word Title: Used in multiple stories in multiple anthologies:

    • The first series': To some summaries of Warhammer 40,000, that go like, "In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only war."
