- Fighting from the Inside: Doyle does this, but unfortunately he can only delay the Darkness rather than defeat it.
- Grand Theft Me: The Darkness switches bodies to further its goal. It needs physical contact to Body Surf.
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: At the end, the Doctor wipes both Bodie and Doyle's memories to keep them safe from Torchwood.
- Madness Mantra: Doyle gets one after his first one fails.
