    General

    Revival
  • Berserk Button:
    • Don't kill the Dark Young when Shub-Niggurath is around. Cthulhu learns this the hard way.
    • Nyarlathotep despises having his ego besmirched if he were referred to as weak or insignificant.
  • Big Bad: Maya Lottie, otherwise known as the Crawling Chaos Nyarlathotep.
  • Blue-and-Orange Morality: Shub-Niggurath and the brood of Eihort fall squarely under it as they are beyond human comprehension. Besides Nyarlathotep, Cthulhu and Yog-Sothoth communicate with the human characters telepathically, the former making it clear that Nyarlathotep sending him to kill Lincoln and the others wasn't anything personal.
  • Came Back Wrong: Charles is resurrected through the Necronomicon's unholy powers as an undead zombie.
  • Cessation of Existence: Yog-Sothoth can remove any trace of a person from the timeline due to his power over space and time. He uses it to nearly erase the Loud siblings from existence to continue the conquest of the gods.
  • The Chessmaster: Maya stages the death of Charles knowing that Lana would do anything to resurrect him. This would lead to Lana reading the Necronomicon for its contents, which would drive her insane, climaxing in her inadvertently summoning the Outer Gods.
  • Deader than Dead: Maya/Nyarlathotep gets all of her/his avatars destroyed by the Necronomicon getting reduced to basic atoms. While Nyarlathotep had a child (most likely as a pawn to become reborn), Nyarlathotep as a being is no more.
  • Deal with the Devil:
    • Maya sucks Lola and Leni's souls from their bodies giving the family the ultimatum of either forfeiting the Necronomicon or they would never see their loved ones again. Even when they relent, Maya decides to toss the flask containing the two girls' souls into a rip in space-time anyway.
    • Maya decides to give Lincoln the chance of rescuing his sisters from space-time. If he won, Maya would have to call off the entry of the Outer Gods.
  • Devoured by the Horde: Mr. Grouse gets killed by the Brood of Eihort.
  • Did You Just Punch Out Cthulhu?: Patrick manages to use the Necronomicon to send Cthulhu away and inadvertently gets him killed by Shub-Niggurath. Later, he uses the full brunt of the Necronomicon to destroy Maya Lottie/Nyarlathotep.
  • Disney Death: Lincoln and the others narrowly escape getting erased from existence by Yog-Sothoth.
  • Driven to Madness: A librarian is driven insane by Nyarlathotep in the guise of an elderly woman and is found in the woods in a vegetative state.
    • Also happens to Lana after she merely skimmed through the pages of the Necronomicon.
  • Faux Affably Evil: When she first appears to Lana, Maya presents herself as empathetic to Lana's loss, but in reality, she deliberately caused it as part of her evil plan.
  • Foil: Eihort and Shub-Niggurath. Shub-Niggurath lacks human comprehension but reacts in anger at the slaughter of her Dark Young whereas Eihort can communicate with humanity — actively using humans as vessels for his brood — and expresses apathy towards their deaths.
  • For the Evulz: While freeing the Outer Gods is Maya/Nyarlathotep's primary goal, she commits senseless acts of evil for no other reason than enjoying exerting her godlike powers on humanity.
  • The Ghost: Azathoth never appears despite Maya/Nyarlathotep frequently referencing him as her actual father in a disgusting tone.
  • Go Mad from the Revelation: Maya loves doing this to her victims by revealing the nature of the Great Old Ones and the Outer Gods to mankind aware that their little minds couldn't handle it.
  • Historical Rap Sheet: Nyarlathotep is responsible not just for the events of the fanfic, but also slavery in Ancient Egypt; genocides; the World Wars, etc. Or at the least, he influenced the events.
  • Humanoid Abomination: As the God of a Thousand Forms, Nyarlathotep has a plethora of human-esque forms to choose from rather it is an elderly woman or Maya Lottie.
  • I Lied: Maya doesn't hold her part of the bargain over the souls of Lola and Leni, stating that she thought it was more humorous to pitch their souls into space-time.
  • Kick the Dog: Maya orchestrates the events of the fanfic by hypnotizing Charles into walking in the way of a moving minivan.
    • Nyarlathotep takes the form of Patrick Stark's daughter as a means of poking fun at him after he had eaten his wife and children.
  • Kids Are Cruel: Maya, but she is actually far older than what she lets on.
  • Killed Off for Real:
    • Charles. When he is resurrected by Lana, he is re-killed as a zombie. Since Patrick used nearly all the dark magic from the Necronomicon, it is likely that he will ever return.
    • Cthulhu, Shub-Niggurath and her Dark Young, and Eihort and his brood are destroyed, though, in Cthulhu's case, he has a daughter who is prophesied to give birth to him, so it might be a minor setback.
    • Abdul Alhazred's soul is destroyed from his great-grandson Patrick using a spell that condenses all the dark magic within into a pure blast.
    • The hunter and his hunting crew are slaughtered by Nyarlathotep in his Haunter in the Dark form.
    • Mr. Grouse is killed by Eihort's brood and remains dead by the end of the story.
  • Mama Bear: Shub-Niggurath destroys several helicopters in anger of them firing at her Dark Young.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: Maya/Nyarlathotep's main goal is to release the other gods to destroy mankind. It could even include Azathoth himself. Knowing how it is said that everything would cease to exist once Azathoth awakens from his dream...
  • Psychopathic Manchild: Despite being well over past the age of the universe, Maya/Nyarlathotep acts like a giddy child especially when comparing ushering in the end of days as throwing a large party.
  • Sealed Evil in a Can: The Outer Gods and the Great Old Ones. But also Abdul Alhazred who contrary to popular belief merged himself with the Necronomicon to achieve pseudo-immortality.
  • Shout-Out;
  • Villainous Breakdown: Once the tides are turned against her, Maya becomes enraged particularly when she discovers that Cthulhu was killed.
  • Would Hurt a Child:
    • Maya/Nyarlathotep killed Patrick's children; releases the horde of Eihort's brood onto Royal Woods which would've entailed more children dying; drove the Loud siblings to madness whilst also robbing two of them of their souls, and vowed to rip Lincoln apart when he successfully grabbed the flask containing his sisters' souls.
    • Cthulhu is sent to kill the Loud family by his boss, though he insists on taking no pleasure in doing so.
    • Yog-Sothoth attempts to erase Lincoln and his sisters from existence with his infinite powers over space-time.

Loud House: The King in Yellow
  • Abusive Parents: Yog-Sothoth becomes Cthulhu's surrogate mother after Cthylla rebirthed him. One of the first things she does is tossing him in the direction of a path of Shoggoths.
  • Always Someone Better: Hastur despises his brother because Cthulhu was largely more powerful than him.
  • Ax-Crazy: Hastur is unhinged. When arriving to the Earth, he threatens to chop Yog-Sothoth into several pieces and feed them to Azathoth.
  • Bad Boss: Hastur strangles a minion to death for giving him bad news. And then sets him on fire.
  • Bait the Dog: Maya/Nyarlathotep resurrects a girl's deceased kitten for a young girl seeming to be sympathetic for the girl's loss...only to then transform the kitten into a monster to maul the parents of the children they were entertaining then sending that same girl into open traffic.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: The King in Yellow, Hastur, desires to take over the Earth. Yog-Sothoth backs him, appearing as a one-eyed woman.
  • Body Horror: Those under the King in Yellow's control are transformed into bloated abominations with scaly skin and boneless limbs.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Maya/Nyarlathotep was guilty of this as revealed in a flashback. The parents of the children you're entertaining are mad that their kids have been gone for hours? Transform a kitten into a rampaging monster to sic on them and then have the children walk in traffic. An ice cream man wouldn't give you ice cream even if you obviously had no money? Kill him. Your slave attempted to escape? Starve him until he complied.
  • Half-Sibling Angst: Hastur makes it known that he despises his half-brother Cthulhu. Cthulhu presumably felt the same.
  • Training from Hell: Not too long after he was born, Yog-Sothoth subjects Cthulhu to heavy training as a means of strengthening him when the time came for him to fight his half-brother.
  • Voluntary Shapeshifting: Shoggoths have no true form, but instead take the form of whatever suits them at the time.
