To the Other End of the World
is an Original Flavor work of Kerlongsj Evert Orlejov who started this as experiment to have a different technology in the Infinite Stratos universe. It tells the story of a bunch of male students who got sent to the Infinite Stratos Academy. One little difference is that these guys aren't Infinite Stratos pilots. They're Nanite Hackers who are meant and trained to take on Infinite Stratos pilots in groups, consisting of several males. Besides that, they're meant as counter soldiers for countries who can't afford Infinite Stratos. When they get a teacher who as strong as Chifuyu, things are getting very interesting. See how those guys will make their way in this school at the other end of the world
Due to the losing of interest and the lack of feedback, the author has decided to put the story on a hold. Infinite Stratos: To the Other End of the World provides examples of:
- The Ace: Two examples for a change. Chifuyu is still a Action Girl without having her Infinite Stratos, but Kerlongsj have shown he is as good as Chifuyu in his subject, despite having a completely different style. Some hackers even claimed he is the reason why the pilots became afraid of the hackers. Unlike her, Kerlongsj still is an active hacker.
- Academy of Adventure: If it wasn't enough to introduce the sole male pilot at the ISA, imagine how it is now with boys who are trained to take on pilots.
- Adaptational Badass: It starts slow, but Ichika grows to a decent fighter thanks to the hackers training. Despite being a pilot himself and a rough start, the hackers have no problem seeing him as one of their own.
- A Father to His Men: Kerlongsj has shown he would help his students as they are his soldiers. He has even took the blame at some points. In Anaton case, it's even literal. He has also shown to be a lot more relaxed to his students. In other cases, he even fought at the front line at one point. With only his Badass Crew, consisting of five men. Himself included. Being outnumbered as groups of Infinite Stratos pilots fought them. They won.
- Aloof Big Brother: Strangely subverted, With a brother who can blow up the entire world and is leader of the only faction who can oppose the Infinite Stratos, you would think that Anaton would have a lot of inferior problems. Still, Kerlongsj and he never seem to care about it. It is often that Anaton impressed his older brother and often Kerlongsj learns from him at some points.
- Badass and Child Duo: Kerlongsj's adopted son, Anaton is the youngest student living at the school, by the age of twelve. The reason why he came over was of his gang members who were all fifteen, sixteen or seventeen. Still, while Anaton isn't as strong as Kerlongsj, by no doubt, he is strong in his own.
- Badass Crew: Because the hackers fight in groups called gangs with supportive or packs without one, it's not abnormal the hackers become one of these. By training of young age, they are often better in fighting as one group.
- Badass Family: Two examples, the Orimura and the Orlejov family. However, from the second one, there are only two living examples.
- Badass Teacher: Both Chifuyu and Kerlongsj are shown that they can kick asses and still teach at school. However, Kerlongsj has no idea how to teach in a school by having no teachers education. Luckily, his class only consists of hackers who respect him for who is. It helps that their Class Representative is Anaton. And the fact Kerlongsj knows his stuff well enough. - Battle Couple: In later chapters, there are some more, but the best example are Kerlongsj and Chifuyu. Thanks to their previous training, the two are good in fighting back to back. Despite having a completely different way of fighting, they're good at fighting in sync. Look for Odd Couple for more information regarding their relationship.Chifuyu: We're a decent team.Kerlongsj: We've always been.
- Bash Brothers: Due to inferior weapons, hackers work in groups to take Infinite Stratos pilots on. Their larger groups are often made up by hackers who are already used to fight together. In short, it's one close range hacker and one long range hacker who fight together to take down their foes. Later, Ichika and Anaton become somewhat like this.
- In one case, it's even a Sibling Team made of twin brothers. Still, their relationship is more like example above.
- Big Brother Mentor: When he isn't in class, Kerlongsj often acts as an older brother towards Anaton. Despite being the legal father by adoption, Kerlongsj more acts like an older brother towards Anaton. He is the only thing that Anaton has a father figure, but due to their ages, they're more comfortable with the current situation. It's not perfect, but Chifuyu, Tabane and Tatenashi can learn something a lot from Kerlongsj on how to act around your younger sibling. And the two aren't even blood related.
- Combat Medic: Being both supportives, Kerlongsj and Anaton are meant to heal wounded soldiers. Still, the two are often thrown in battle as their counterparts and they can make it out alive. For Kerlongsj it's more normal, because he is the only living hacker who can use the three types of working with nanites.
- Childhood Friend Romance: Some might say it's stupid and doesn't classify in this, but for Kerlongsj and Chifuyu, they were the only ones of the other sex who they had something with and could talk to the previous years. They have a rough start, but by helping each other, they grow closer to each other. Sure, it's not like Ichika and Houki, but it's not like they don't have a history.
- Clueless Chick-Magnet: Subverted as Ichika reveals to the guys that it's just an act to stay alive between the crazy girls. While the hackers don't approve of it, they don't blame him for putting up the act. They got briefed and had some idea how it worked for Ichika in the academy.
- Cool Teacher: Kerlongsj might be a good hacker, but he sucks at teaching by having no education at that point. In class, he often sits on his desk for teaching, talks with the guys over attacks and he seldom gives homework.
- Crippling Over Specialization: Just like the girls and Ichika who are mostly good at one point, the hackers suffer of the same problems being trained in one particular way to fight. Only in their case it's subverted as they fight in groups. When they fight with two, they're meant to cover each other's weakness.
- Dark and Troubled Past: If you thought the girls had problems, these guys got a grade worse. All of the hackers have some problems stemming back and it's often that the Infinite Stratos are responsible. It's only in later chapters some things are revealed.
- Curbstomp Battle: In a mock match, Kerlongsj faces Anaton's gang and he promised not to use his hacker technology. It didn't change the outcome of the fight. Kerlongsj was even proud of them that they hold on three minutes.
- Fan Sequel: In two ways. This is after the second season, but the author also wrote a prequel, showing some history of Chifuyu, mixed with canon events.
- Katanas Are Just Better: While Chifuyu, Houki and Ichika prefer those, Tizof (Anaton's sword fighter) doesn't like the swords. He prefers his own swords, claiming and later showing that there are more ways to win a sword fight and that katanas might be the best swords, but not invincible. Kerlongsj uses other weapons to match Chifuyu and it works.
- Meaningful Name: One of Kerlongsj most recent nicknames The Flemish Devil really needs no explanation. He is Flemish and one of his two programs is called Devil's Code.
- Odd Couple: In the author previous work, it is explained how Chifuyu and Kerlongsj became friends and eventually lovers. But only having spent at least two weeks together, they're still trying to find out what their relationship actually is. It's funny if you look on how different the two are. An ultra high class pilot and a man who leads a faction opposing the world order. Still, those two fell in love and are sometimes more acting like two teens in love instead a grown woman and man.
- Parental Abandonment: With the exception of Kashal, none of the hackers seem to have parents, but unlike the pilots, they at least had substitutes. In the previous work https://www.fanfiction.net/s/11248281/1/Crossed-paths, Chifuyu explains the reason why Kerlongsj is taking care of Anaton Kerlongsj own parents were killed by an Infinite Stratos and Anaton's older half brother Azalof took care of Kerlongsj. When Azalof was killed himself and Kerlongsj became leader, he took care after Anaton the same way Azalof did with him.
- Screw the Rules, I Make Them!!: The hackers have a reason why they chose Anaton as responsable. It is to avoid the crazy antics of Tatenashi. Basically, they don't just screw rules, they just don't have them. And they hate it when somebody bends them.
- The Tease: Subverted with Tatenashi. She wanted to let Anaton cross dress. It ended with a destroyed door and a death threat.
- Weapon Specialization: Every hacker can only activate one particular weapon with the exception of Kerlongsj. So it isn't abnormal they stick to one weapon. In Kerlongsj's case, he uses two hidden blades if he wants to fight without using hacker technology.
- Your Terrorists Are Our Freedom Fighters: The hackers fulfil this purpose and are proud of it. Due to bad publicity, they're often seen as enemies of the Infinite Stratos. While they're not complete warlovers, they didn't took an invasion on Belgium too kindly.
