Family is an Animaniacs fanfic on FanFiction.Net by The Middle Warner Sibling. You can read it here.

This fanfic provides examples of:

  • All Girls Like Ponies: Dot becomes obsessed with ponies and unicorns so much that it grosses Yakko and Wakko out. Later on, Porky takes her and Yakko to the Lipizzaner Horse performance, which she really enjoys. She even receives a stuffed horse named Lipizzaner from Yakko and asks him to read Whisper the Winged Unicorn when she goes to sleep.
  • Baby's First Words: Dot’s first words were "Yakky", followed by "Waks" (Wakko), "cutie", "baby", " "no", and "Yakky goosey". Wakko’s first words were also "Yakko", as well.
  • Baby Talk: Dot talks like this at the beginning, but it stops when the siblings become homeless.
  • Big Brother Instinct: The story explains how Yakko got to be this.
  • Curse Cut Short: Yakko recites the "there once was a man from Nantucket" poem, but before he can get to "shit", he is interrupted by Goose, who tackles him and says "goodnight everybody" to the audience.
  • Drives Like Crazy: Bugs Bunny is depicted here as a leadfoot who's had been busted for speeding multiple times.
  • Embarrassing Nickname: The fanfic reveals that Dot does not like being called Dottie because of a Noodle Incident involving either Gardo or one of the foster families.
  • Empathy Doll Shot: Before Yakko discovers that Dot is living with foster families so she can forget about them and get adopted, he finds her teddy bear in the toy box and gets upset because TIS had took it away from her because they believed that the bear was a link to her family and it would remind her of her brothers. He then puts the toy in his hammerspace and later brings it to Dot on the bus.
  • Gass Hole: Wakko’s burping talent is revealed when Yakko gives him soda during a trip to the supermarket. He surprises Yakko and everyone around him by loudly belching. He then belches "Mary Had A Little Lamb" and "Hello I Must Be Going".
  • Girls Love Stuffed Animals: At one point in the story, Goose gives Dot a pink teddy bear (who is later named ‘Cupcake’). Throughout the story, Dot’s love for the bear is shown by cuddling it and taking it everywhere she goes (when she was younger). She even slept with her! Later, she uses Cupcake to keep Yakko company and towards the end of the story, Yakko uses her, along with Lipizzaner, when he gives Dot the talk.
  • Growling Gut: When Plotz is talking to the Warners, Yakko’s stomach growls, followed by Wakko’s, and later Dot.
  • Half-Dressed Cartoon Animal: The story averts this by having the Warners be full-clothed rather than half naked and only becoming this when they’re filming Animaniacs as a part of their costumes.
  • Infant Sibling Jealousy: Wakko gets jealous of Dot when he sees that she gets more attention than him. Eventually, the two get along with each other well.
  • Mood Whiplash: In-universe, Kit and Rebecca's encounter with furries goes from Kit making perverted remarks while Rebecca rolls her eyes to Kit having to keep Rebecca from running a couple over because the girl is cosplaying as Molly and Rebecca doesn't take the sight of someone dressed as her six-year-old engaging in sex well at all.
  • Nice Character, Mean Actor: On-camera, Jasmine, Darkwing and Gosalyn are the heroes we know and love from their respective franchises. Off-camera, not only are all three of them bigots who look down on non-Disney toons but Gosalyn actively helps Tank with his bullying.
  • Promotion to Parent: Yakko had to step up and take care of his siblings because their parents at best were useless and their father was frequently abusive.
  • Puppy-Dog Eyes: Dot, being the cute one, uses this several times throughout the story. It’s revealed that Wakko had taught Dot this trick. Wakko uses this once on Yakko, but he doesn’t fall for it and asks him if he has gas.
  • Shout-Out:
    • The movie that Yakko, Wakko and Dot watch at the end of the first chapter is Animal Crackers.
  • Toon Town: The place where the Warners were born and raised.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Dot loves tacos with extra cheese.
  • Vomit Discretion Shot: Ophelia frequently vomits in the toilet throughout the story.
    • It’s implied that Yakko vomited in his "Puddles" suit due to anxiety and stage fright.
  • White Gloves: Gloves play an important role in the story. They are used for every toon, with or without Schlesinger Syndrome. A toon first gets their gloves on their fifth birthday, officially transitioning them from a toddler to a child and from that point on, they can start their "toon theory" training. Toons are usually excited when they first get their gloves; they will keep them on, only taking them off for memories, while toons with Schlesinger Syndrome will keep them on as a status symbol.
