In General:

  • Original Character: Each story introduces a new, original character made by the author.
    • "Royal Pain": Grimhilde and Winston
    • "Gender Defender": Misa Andry
    • "Cursed at Casper High": Michelle Lynne Clarke
  • Series Fic: This series is an expansion to season 3 of Danny Phantom, before "Phantom Planet".
  • Status Quo Is God: These stories are set during season 3, and don't make any big changes to the show.

     Royal Pain
  • 0% Approval Rating: Aragon, whose subjects had only followed him out of fear.
  • Abusive Parents: Grimhilde has always treated poor Dora like dirt, believing her to be weak and inferior to her tyrant brother Aragon.
  • Accidental Marriage: Danny narrowly avoids this with Paulina after he saves her by pulling an "All Just a Dream" gambit to shake her off.
  • And Now You Must Marry Me: Aragon kidnaps Paulina because he plans to marry her and make her his princess, though it's only out of desire for revenge against Danny.
  • The Bore: The A-Listers are just as uninterested in Paulina’s stories of Danny Phantom as Team Phantom are since they’ve heard them all before.
  • Character Development: Danny finally lets go of his unrequited crush on Paulina after realizing she’s not worth it because she’s too shallow to actually like him as a person and you can’t form a successful relationship based on a superficial attraction.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Downplayed with Sam as she tries to hide her jealousy, but she is happy in the end when Danny loses all interest in Paulina.
  • Cowardly Lion: Winston, one of Dora's servants, was one of the many that greatly feared Aragon and Grimhilde, but still puts his neck on the line to protect Dora and inspires the rest of the kingdom to do the same.
  • The Dreaded: Grimhilde and Aragon… until the end where the citizens get fed up and turn against them.
  • Engagement Challenge: Aragon and Danny's fight over Paulina, having a medieval tournament of sorts to determine whom she goes to.
  • Even Evil Has Loved Ones: Aragon respects his mother Grimhilde enough to listen to her despite his own sexism.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Even if Danny still liked Paulina, he wouldn't marry her because they're both only teenagers.
    • Danny does value more than looks in a girl and loses interest in Paulina for her shallowness in favor of looking for a girl he's more compatible with.
    • The A-Listers are just as bored by Paulina's stories about Danny Phantom as Team Phantom are because they've heard them all before.
  • False Soulmate: Danny acknowledges that Paulina isn’t the girl for him because she’s too shallow and emotionally immature to handle a real relationship.
  • God Save Us from the Queen!: EX-Queen Grimhilde
  • I Fight for the Strongest Side!: Upon her defeat at the end, Grimhilde tries to put on a motherly act for Queen Dora to get into her good graces but her daughter is having none of that.
  • Implied Love Interest: It's implied that Winston has a crush on Dora, which may be part of what motivated him to save her.
  • Insane Troll Logic: Paulina honestly thinks that she going to marry Danny Phantom after being saved by him, much to the shock of Danny and his friends. To her credit, she knows that she can not get legally married until she is 18 years old.
  • Irony: Danny humorously lampshades that a raging misogynist like Prince Aragon is a Momma's Boy.
  • Like Parent, Like Child: Queen Grimhilde is a cold, selfish, power-hungry jerk, just like her son Aragon.
  • Loving a Shadow: Danny realizes that Paulina's feelings for him are this, being little more than a Celeb Crush. Thus, he moves on from his own crush on her.
  • Momma's Boy: Despite being a sexist tyrant, the only person Aragon shows any level of respect is his mother Grimhilde.
  • Mother Makes You King: Grimhilde to Aragon
  • Never My Fault: While imprisoned, Aragon and Grimhilde blame each other for their plan failing and them being thrown into prison.
  • Not Distracted by the Sexy: In this story, Danny isn’t drooling over Paulina like he usually does, much to Sam and Tucker’s surprise. Danny later explains to his friends that he lost interest in Paulina after figuring out she only likes him for the superhero side of him and not for who he really is as a person.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: Sam and Tucker are confused when Danny doesn't start fawning over Paulina like he usually does. But this is more on the lines of Character Development than anything, with Danny realising she's just VERY shallow.
  • Parental Favoritism: Grimhilde makes it obvious that she has nothing but disdain for Dora and openly favors Aragon, though it's only because she is secretly using him. She tries to shift her attention to Dora when the latter takes the throne, much to Aragon's outrage and Dora's disgust.
  • Pet the Dog: It’s minor but Prince Aragon does thank his mother Grimhilde for helping him return to power.
  • Princess Phase: Paulina seems to have shades of this.
  • Rescue Romance: Played for Laughs. Paulina thinks she's going to marry Danny Phantom because he saved her from Prince Aragon. Team Phantom is taken aback by this and are glad when Winston uses knockout spray on Paulina.
  • Ship Sinking: Danny loses all interest in Paulina at the end of this story.
  • Shipping Torpedo: Sam won't admit it but she's ecstatic that Danny finally got over Paulina in the end.
  • Skewed Priorities: Paulina has been kidnapped and is about to be forced to marry a tyrannical, sexist ghost prince and all she can think about is how the ghost boy is going to save her, and then they are going to be married and live happily ever after.
  • Thinks Like a Romance Novel: Paulina in spades. She thinks she is the princess in a fairy tale romance and the ghost boy is her Knight in Shining Armor who she is destined to marry.
  • Turned Off By The Jerkass: Danny has officially gotten over his one-sided crush on Paulina after realizing she’s just a spoiled mean girl who’s too shallow to like him for anything but his ghost powers.
  • Wasted Beauty: Danny gives up on Paulina after accepting she’s too shallow and immature to give him the real relationship he wants.
  • Womanchild: Paulina. In this fanfic, she acts like a spoiled nine-year-old who's a princess during her time as a captive and when Danny finally saves her, she acts like they really were going to get married, much to Danny's horror.

     Gender Defender
  • Abhorrent Admirer: Dash to Danny's female alter ego "Danika", much to his/her immense chagrin.
  • Attractive Bent-Gender: Danny's female form "Danika" is stated multiple times to be very pretty, enough to even get Dash's attention and arouse Paulina's jealousy.
  • Brain Bleach: Danny really does NOT take learning that Dash likes him as a girl well at all…
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Misa Andry was once a slave to a warlord who presumably was very abusive to her and the other female servants, which resulted in her having a blind hatred of men in general.
  • Deconstruction: Over the topic of sexism and extremism. Misa is a man-hater with a Dark and Troubled Past and she vows to liberate women from men's oppression. While her past was traumatizing and her desire to fight injustice is understandable, her actions are not acceptable as she tries to physically hurt both men AND women who get in her way.
  • Dude Magnet: Danny's female form Danika has a lot of male admirers, much to his dismay.
  • Freudian Excuse: Misa's hatred of men is understandable after hearing her above backstory…
  • Freudian Excuse Is No Excuse: However, as Jazz and Sam point out, while what happened to her was awful, it doesn't make her actions (Ex: attacking innocent people, destroying property, and CHANGING PEOPLE'S GENDERS) justified.
  • Gender Bender: The premise is Danny being changed into a girl against his will.
  • Karmic Transformation: Misa, who has a deep hatred for the male gender, is transformed into a man HERSELF at the end of the story...something she does not take well AT ALL.
  • Moral Myopia: Misa Andry has a strong case of this.
  • Punny Name: Misa Andry's name comes from the word "misandry".
  • Straw Feminist: Misa Andry in SPADES!
  • Sweet on Polly Oliver: Dash unfortunately gets the hots for Danny's female alter ego Danika…Ew! Even more so is that he is not the only one who gets sweet on Danika... poor Danny.

     Charmed and Dangerous
  • All Guys Want Cheerleaders: Not discussed but it's implied Paige "joins" the cheer squad just to get Danny's attention.
  • Ascended Extra:
    • Paige was a nameless girl with braces who appeared at the end of "Flirting With Disaster" and was hinted to have a crush on Danny. Here, she's one of the main characters of the story.
    • Also, the nameless red-haired girl with glasses that appeared alongside her is Paige's best friend.
  • Bad Date: Danny and Paige's date because of Dash and Paulina... and Enchantra, who set in motion the bad date in order to make Paige vulnerable.
  • Because You Were Nice to Me: Paige's crush on Danny stems from that fact that unlike a lot of their classmates, he's always nice to her.
  • Birds of a Feather: Despite a lot of hiccups in their relationship, Paige actually does have some similarities to Danny in terms of personality. They both seem to get easily embarrassed by their parents, can be timid around a crush, can get a little clumsy (though Paige is a more explicit case), have at one point expressed desire to be popular and accepted by their peers, and most of all, have a strong loyalty to their friends. Suffice to say, she is a lot like Danny prior to his own Character Development.
  • Character Development: After the events of the story, Paige Smith gains more confidence in herself and realizes that becoming someone she's not just for popularity is not worth it, and what matters is being yourself.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl:
    • Sam, though Tucker keeps her in check.
    • Paige is also this and gets worse under Enchantra's influence. She becomes very clingy with Danny and gets very jealous over girls she thinks are prettier than her and might steal his attention away from her.
  • Cute Clumsy Girl: Paige sees herself as "average" but is described as "cute" by Tucker at least once. She is also very clumsy when she gets nervous, especially around guys she likes.
  • Dude Magnet: Paige uses Enchantra's bracelet to become this. It succeeds in getting most of the boys' attention at school, with the exception of Danny, the only guy Paige actually wants.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Page hates Dash for being a bully and always picking on Danny.
  • Girl of the Week: Discussed. Tucker admits that he does not think that Danny and Paige's relationship will last, so he tells Sam to let them enjoy it.
  • I Just Want to Be Special: Paige is very frustrated with being "average" and not being noticed, and desperately wants to be pretty, popular and have a nice boyfriend.
  • Insult Backfire: When Paulina tell Paige she's not like her and the other cheerleaders, Paige take it as a complement
  • Insecure Love Interest: Paige to Danny.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Dash and Paulina throughout the story.
  • Longing Look: Paige sends a couple towards Danny during the story.
  • Love Makes You Evil: Not actually evil, just corrupt, but it was only due to Enchantra taking control over her until Paige snaps out of it and realizes that what she is doing is wrong.
  • Named by the Adaptation: The nameless brunette (redhead in the story) girl with braces at the end of "Flirting With Disaster" is Paige Smith. The redhead with glasses is named Missy.
  • Nice Guy: Just like in the series, Danny, and it is in fact the reason Paige has a big crush on him. He was nothing short of nice and courteous to her during their date, even when it was going bad, and the next day, he went out of his way to apologize for hurting her feelings, despite the fact that Paige caused him to have a severe allergic reaction and caused them a lot of calamities that night.
  • O.C. Stand-in: Paige Smith. She's meant to be the nameless girl with braces who is normally a redhead (yet was a brunette in "Flirting With Disaster").
  • Sexier Alter Ego: Paige uses Enchantra's bracelet to give herself a full-on makeover that puts her on par with Paulina. She also begins to dress more seductively.
  • Shipper on Deck: Missy is pretty supportive of Paige's crush on Danny and gives her advice on how to approach him.
  • Shrinking Violet: Paige, prior to her encounter with Enchantra.
  • Single Woman Seeks Good Man: Paige is in love with Danny because he's always treated her kindly and she sees him as the nicest guy at their school.
  • Smitten Teenage Girl: Once again, Paige Smith. She's totally gaga over Danny and wants to date him, though she's normally very shy around him.
  • Violently Protective Girlfriend: While not his girlfriend, Paige does uses the charm bracelet to "protect" Danny from Dash's bullying.
  • We Can Rule Together: Somewhat. Paige claims that she plans on "ruling the school" as the new "queen" of the popular kids and asks Danny to be her "king" (boyfriend). Naturally, he refuses.
  • Woobie, Destroyer of Worlds: Due to Enchantra's bracelet, Paige almost becomes one, only to snap out of it thanks to her friend Missy reminding her of who she really is.
  • Yandere: Paige towards Danny, though it was only because of Enchantra's influence.

     Cursed at Casper High
  • Adults Are Useless: Subverted as Mr. Lancer punishes Dash for his actions, albeit it was for a selfish reason.
  • Bad Date: Between Dash and Michelle as a result of his bad luck.
  • Bait the Dog: In the last chapter, it appears Dash has truly changed and is thankful for Danny and his friends' help. When Team Phantom smiled at him, Dash smiled back. Then Dash revealed it was an act, he's going back on his deal and will continue bullying them, does not care for the help they gave him, and has learned nothing about being nice.
  • Beg the Dog: When Dash was suffering from bad luck and his friends were unhelpful and unsympathetic to his problems, he goes to Danny, Sam, and Tucker (the three people he bullies the most) because he has no one else to turn to. Despite insisting that Danny is better than Dash and not to stoop to his level, even Sam advises him not to help Dash. Tucker agrees with her on the matter, but Danny, despite hating Dash for his bullying, cannot find it in himself to refuse. However, even after what they went through get rid of his bad luck, Dash goes back on his deal to stop bullying them and shows he learned nothing. Luckily, the bully still gets in trouble, and when he has the nerve to ask Danny and his friends to help him again, all three of them refuse and leave him.
  • Butt-Monkey: Dash is a very deserving one in this story. For 99% of the story, he gets a lot of bad luck after taking Johnny 13's ring and even when the curse is lifted, he still is one because of his own actions.
    • His Girl of the Week Michelle Lynne Clarke is a lesser example due to Dash's own actions. Due to Dash's bad luck, she gets caught in the crossfire, which makes her like him less and less as the story goes.
  • Disappointed in You: Danny admits as mad as he is that Dash refused to give up his bullying ways, he is more disappointed over the fact that Dash learned nothing from the whole experience.
  • Entitled Bastard: Dash goes to Danny and his friends for help despite how he treated them. Even after he goes back on his word and gets in trouble with Mr. Lancer, he still has the nerve to ask for their help.
  • Everyone Has Standards:
    • Sam, who normally encourages Danny to use his powers to do the right thing and not to go against Dash, flat out tells Danny not to bother helping Dash because they owe him nothing.
    • Despite hating Dash for bullying him, Danny cannot find it in himself to refuse him when Dash directly asks for his help.
  • Evil Cannot Comprehend Good: More Jerkass than evil, but Dash has a hard time trying to be nice to others.
  • Fair-Weather Friend: Kwan is Dash closest friend, but he does not hesitate to cut him off the team.
  • Falling into His Arms: As part of some REAL karma for going back on his word with Team Phantom, Dash accidentally causes his crush Michelle to lose her balance. He tries to catch her, only to fall out of the stands while Michelle lands in Danny's arms instead, which is hinted to have caused her to develop a slight interest in Danny.
  • Fan Art: A fan of the story commissioned a picture of Michelle Lynne Clarke here.
  • Girl of the Week: Michelle Lynne Clarke is the object of Dash's desire in this story. However, she ends up becoming this to Danny of all people at the end.
  • Hard Truth Aesop: Not every bully has a Freudian Excuse for their actions or is a good person deep down willing to change. Some are just terrible people who enjoy hurting others and are not worth it.
  • Hate Sink: Dash, like in the show, is an unrepentant bully who enjoys tormenting people and the fact that he can get away with it because of his status as the football star. At no point in the story is he likable or sympathetic in any way despite the trouble he's going through or when he asks Danny and his friends to help him and tries to be nice. At the end of the story, it seems like Dash has reformed and become a better person, only to show how much of a creep he truly is when he breaks his deal to stop bullying Team Phantom. He makes it clear that he does not care about the fact they helped him, he hates being nice, enjoys bullying them and he's learned nothing.
  • Hypocrite: Dash calls out Sam for refusing to wear the white wig and dress by saying she signed a contract to help him, only to go back on his end of the bargain in the end.
  • Jerkass: Dash Baxter in spades. Just like in canon, he enjoys being a bully and always gets away with it because he is popular and the star of the football team.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Jerk: Again, Dash. After the entire ordeal was over and it looks like he was grateful to Danny and his friends for helping him, does he actually thank them and keep his promise to stop bullying them? NOPE. He almost immediately goes back to being a great, big jerk to them and makes it clear that he does not care about what they did to help him. Dash promptly breaks his end of the deal with Team Phantom, much to their shock and outrage.
  • Karma Houdini Warranty: Dash Baxter, who spent most of the series getting away with his bullying of Danny, gets a huge dose of this when he takes the ring that contains Shadow and gets constant bad luck in the process.
  • Karmic Jackpot: Danny, Tucker and Sam try to help Dash get rid of his bad luck, despite the way he always treats them. Even though Dash goes back on his word at the end, they are rewarded by going to a senior party which Dash misses out on because of his actions and Danny even unintentionally wins over the girl that Dash wanted for himself.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: What keeps the fic from having a Downer Ending is Dash gets hit with this after he breaks his promise to Team Phantom to stop bullying them.
    • He accidentally causes Michelle to fall into Danny's arms, which causes him to fall out of the stands and on top of Mr. Lancer, thus getting in trouble and ruining any chance he had left with her.
    • Michelle picks Danny over him and gives him Dash's invitation to her party, and invites all three members of Team Phantom to boot.
    • Dash gets both grounded and detention for a month while Danny is at the senior party.
  • Likes Older Women: Dash is very much interested in a girl named Michelle Lynne Clark, who is 2 years older than him but all the bad luck is ruining his chances with her.
  • Loophole Abuse: Dash uses some very flimsy ones to break his contract with Team Phantom, even after they helped him.
  • Lovable Alpha Bitch: Michelle Lynne Clarke is a beautiful and popular senior at Casper High who is pursued by Dash and has any male admirers. However, she is apparently nicer than the other popular kids, as she can be friendly to non-popular students, regardless of age or popularity status.
  • Nice Guy: Danny Fenton is an all out boy scout compared to Dash. He tried to train Dash to become one of these in hopes of eliminating his bad karma... it didn't stick, unfortunately.
  • No Sympathy: Dash's so-called popular friends were not only not sympathetic to his problem, but threatened to cut him from the team unless he got rid of his bad luck.
  • Precocious Crush: Inverted in this story. Michelle Lynne Clarke is a 17-year-old senior, 2 years older than Dash and had expressed some interest in him...until the bad luck ruined their date. She, however, ends up choosing Danny, who is the same age as Dash.
  • Redemption Rejection: Dash goes back on his word and has not changed at all.
  • Refuse to Rescue the Disliked: Sam for Dash. Defied with Danny
  • Ship Sinking: Between Dash and Michelle during the entire fanfic.
  • Ship Tease: Danny and Michelle at the end when he saves her.
  • Single Girl Seeks Most Popular Guy: Zigzagged with Michelle, who also has a bit of Single Woman Seeks Good Man too. Michelle at first liked Dash only to lose interest and later, she hits on Danny and invites him to her party after he catches her in his arms.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Dash to Danny and his friends. Even after the three of them tried to help cure him of his bad luck, he just goes back to bullying them after the whole ordeal is over.
  • With Friends Like These...: Dash's teammates and fellow A-Listers threaten to cut him off the team if they think he'll become a liability and they weren't at all sympathetic to his plight.
