On Hearts and Hooves Day, Fluttershy longs to be Rainbow Dash's Special Somepony. However, she's only been able to be "Friends With Benefits" with Rainbow and doesn't believe Rainbow would want her as a girlfriend.
When Fluttershy accidentally outs both of them to Twilight, Twilight convinces Rainbow to consider the possibility of having a girlfriend. Over the next few months, Fluttershy competes with Pinkie Pie, Gilda, and Scootaloo for Rainbow's heart.
