Fanfic / Bleach: Ultimate Alien

Go To

The Bleach: Ultimate Alien series is a Bleach / Ben 10: Ultimate Alien crossover by Bigby the Big Bad Wolf.

This was the original fic; the author intended the story to consist of three volumes, but the story was discontinued and is now in the process of a remake. The reason for this is that the original story fell victim to Executive Meddling: Bigby, under pressure from one of his beta readers, had unwisely put the possibility of a harem route to a vote among readers, a decision he came to deeply regret over time. The remake, which can be read here, is a Fix Fic that will feature a monogamous pairing between Ben and Harribel and is also crossing over with The Incredible Muffin's Unlimited Justice - Part 2.

RedMist86025949 has adopted the original fic, with the links to the adopted versions of Volumes I and II accessible here and there.

    The Original
  • Aborted Arc: As said above, the author originally intended to write three volumes for the crossover, but later decided to discontinue it and remake it entirely. For example; the Loly's Revenge arc (featuring Loly recruiting Baraggan's Fraccion to kill Ben Tennyson to avenge Sosuke Aizen) never reached its conclusion due to Bigby deciding to revamp the story. Another unresolved matter is Soul Society considering Ben a greater threat than Aizen and the hero's plan to transform Hollows into Arrancars.
  • A Day in the Limelight: In the original, each member of Ben's harem had at least one chapter of them going on a date with the Ultimatrix bearing hero, further developing their relationship.
  • Always Someone Better:
    • Baraggan wanted to prove that Ben Tennyson was no match for his Fraccion. This didn't go as planned.
    • Toshiro Hitsugaya's ice powers were ineffective on Ben while the latter was NRG. It really pisses him off.
    • Ben Tennyson was able to defeat Sosuke Aizen, a man nobody in the Gotei 13 and not even Captain Yamamoto could defeat.
  • Badass Crew: Ben, Kevin, Gwen, and their Arrancar allies.
  • Balanced Harem: Ben is equally devoted to each of his Arrancar girls, who are True Companions and happy with sharing him.
  • Befriending the Enemy: How Ben gets the Arrancars on his side.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Nelliel might be cute and bubbly (both before and after returning to her true form), but get her mad, and may God help you!
  • Big Bad: Sosuke Aizen was the main antagonist in Volume I, while Loly was considered to be the main antagonist of Volume II.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Ben was like this towards Nelliel (who was Nel at the time) while she was in her child form.
  • Beach Episode: The final chapter of volume I.
  • Blow You Away: In the third chapter of the original, Ben fights Avirama as Terraspin, which proves to be effective.
  • Christmas Special: Bleach: An Ultimate Alien Christmas.
  • Curb-Stomp Battle: Alien X rips Aizen a new one and completely depowers him over the course of their fight.
  • Dropped a Bridge on Him: Ben subjects Aizen to a Cool and Unusual Punishment using Alien X to strip Aizen of his powers—and intends to leave it at that. Unfortunately (or fortunately), Gin Ichimaru has other ideas.
  • Godzilla Threshold: Azmuth temporarily unlocks Master Control on the Ultimatrix so Ben can transform into Alien X to take down Aizen when he proves to be too much for everyone else to handle.
  • Happily Adopted: Tosen adopts Wonderweiss as his own son after Paradox restores him following Aizen's defeat
  • Harem Genre: After the war to a degree.
  • Heel–Face Turn: With his distinct ability to make a friend out of almost anyone, even former villains, Ben was able to recruit several Arrancars including three of the strongest Espada in helping him fight in the war against Aizen, ranging from Tia Harribel and her Fraccion to Coyote Starrk and Lilynette Gingerbuck.
  • Homefield Advantage: Played with. During his fight with Ulquiorra Cifer (who'd revealed his Segunda Etapa and used it to trounce Tia and Nelliel, and even killed Ichigo), Ben ends up transforming into Ghostfreak, and struggles in the beginning due to Ulquiorra's raw power. However, Ghostfreak eventually rips off his skin to reveal his true form, slowly growing more powerful. This stems from Ectonurites like Ghostfreak being able to power themselves up in areas of darkness, and in a dayless place such as Hueco Mundo, the advantage slowly but surely slips from Ulquiorra to Ben.
  • Intercontinuity Crossover: The Yautja make a brief appearance when one of them stalks Ben and Milia on their date/mission on Atrox, indirectly causing Ben to gain a new form to use when the Ultimatrix scans the aforementioned individual
  • Lingerie Scene: See Ms. Fanservice.
  • Ms. Fanservice: The majority of female characters in the story, especially Tia Harribel. She's easily the most shameless of the Arrancar girls due to her penchant for revealing outfits.
    • This is kicked up a notch as the story progresses; Tia is occasionally seen wearing alluring outfits from sexy sky-blue bikini to lingerie
    • Mila Rose is another example; her figure is the most voluptous among Harribel's Fraccion, something we know of due to her provocatively designed outfit.
  • Sanity Slippage: Loly's obsession with killing Ben to avenge Aizen's death at Gin's blade does no favors for her mental health.
  • Teacher/Student Romance: How things go between with Harribel and Ben. However, it's Played With. Harribel was already in love with Ben back on Hueco Mundo with Ben later reciprocating, and Ben's mother approved the job (which Kevin helped with by forging credentials) so as to make sure Ben doesn't slack off. So as to make sure they don't get caught when the two go on a date, Ben uses an ID Mask to turn into Ben 10,000.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: Even though Barragan's ex-Fracciones and Loly have the same goal of killing Ben, they hardly cooperate with each other, with the former planning to backstab Loly once Ben is killed.
  • The Dreaded: Despite Ben defeating Soul Society's number 1 enemy at the time, Central 46 considered Ben Tennyson to be an even greater threat to the point the Soul King declares his Ultimatrix should be destroyed. Due to the discontinuation of the story, the matter was unresolved, though the adopted version may see some form of resolution to this dilemma
  • True Companions: This is one of Ben's most appealing traits that has made his Tia, Nelliel, Sung-Sun, Mila-Rose and Apacci love him and a formidable group.
  • Ungrateful Bastard: Ggio, Nirgge, and Choe team up with Loly to get revenge on Ben even though he let them live after Aizen's defeat
  • Unwanted Harem: Subverted in the original; while Ben was originally uncomfortable with having a large number of beautiful women attracted to him, he eventually learned to embrace it. See Christmas Special.
  • Worthy Opponent: The Yautja who arrive to retrieve the body of the hunter Ben killed on Atrox give him a sword they made as a sign of respect for managing to defeat one of their kind in combat. Ben gives it to Mila-Rose instead of keeping it.
  • Villain Has a Point: As Ben's team learns more about the morally questionable things Soul Society has done, they do admit that perhaps Aizen's actions against them weren't unjustified, with Yoruichi stating that Soul Society may have pushed Aizen to commit his actions.

    The Remake
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Harribel and her Fraccion are not nearly as nice to Ben in the remake. Harribel treats Ben professionally while her Fraccion immediately distrust Ben for giving Harribel the Male Gaze on accident. They only start opening up to Ben after several chapters of Character Development and Ben proving his basic decency.
  • A Mother to Her Men: Harribel. Ben notes that the Undying Loyalty of her Fraccion stem from this.
  • An Arm and a Leg: During his fight against Grimmjow, Four Arms has one of his arms ripped off by the Sexta Espada, but his next transformation shows that it's not a permanent issue, as he has all four of them. This later ties into Szayel making Hollow versions of Ben's aliens, and the first one revealed, a Tetramand, uses the torn-off arm as a DNA source.
  • Befriending the Enemy: Ben retains this trait from the original fic, except on a more platonic level
  • Bratty Half-Pint: Lilynette, as per canon.
  • Chekhov's Gun: During his fight against Grimmjow, Ben, as Four Arms, ends up losing one of his arms in the process. While dismissed for most of the story, Szayel later reveals that he used the arm to create a Hollow version of a Tetramand.
  • Cowardly Lion: Even despite her fear of Aizen, Orihime, seeing that Ben is suffering from severe guilt in helping Aizen's malevolent plans, is able to ignore her fear enough to demand that Starrk and Haribel stay away from him.
  • Defiant to the End: Even as his body rots as a result of Respira, Huecos still struggles against Barragan, fighting as hard as he can.
  • Defrosting Ice Queen:
    • Harribel's Fraccion starts out distrusting Ben and thinking of him as a pervert. But as he proves his basic decency and starts providing them with nice things like a pool, they warm up to him and think of him as a friend.
    • Downplayed with Harribel, who was never hostile to Ben, but reserved and professional, but she quickly warms up to him once he proves himself to be trustworthy.
  • Dies Differently in Adaptation: Barragan is skewered in the head with one of Diamondhead's crystals by Harribel.
  • Due to the Dead: Ben and his allies bury Yammy's body not out of any respect for the brute, but to provide closure to his pet dog.
  • Evil Knockoff: Szayel manages to create Hollowified versions of Four Arms, Diamondhead, and Swampfire after obtaining DNA samples of these aliens via several incidents throughout Ben's time in Las Noches named Huecos Bracos, Diamante De La Muerte, and Fuego Podrida respectively. He gains Tetramand DNA from an arm Grimmjow ripped off, Petrosapien crystals from the fight between Ben and Barragan in the Oasis, and Methanosian DNA from arms sliced off by Aizen in the aftermath of the aforementioned fight. However, the creation of the Hollowfied aliens is currently unexplained.
  • Genetic Memory: To some extent, while the Hollow Aliens are still on the side of evil, they retain Ben's good nature, being more than capable of cooperation and altruism. The Hollow version of Four Arm helps Wonderweiss up and gives him an Affectionate Gesture to the Head and the Hollow version of Diamondhead forms crystal weapons for its companions to use. They are also very good at working together as a team. Played more tragically and seriously later on, though, as the death of Wonderweiss leaves them grief-stricken, and all inherit Ben's rage when those he cares about are threatened, viciously attacking Yamamoto in revenge for him murdering their friend.
  • Good Is Not Dumb: As much of a Nice Guy Ben is, he does not trust Aizen to the fullest due to his experiences with other Manipulative Bastards similar to him in his own universe. Learning that Aizen is Evil All Along from Ken shatters that trust, leading to him deciding to go against him.
  • Heroic BSoD: Ben is shaken by the revelation from Ken that Aizen was Evil All Along, leading to him deciding to help Orihime escape Las Noches after her capture. His breakdown only worsens when he learns of Aizen's true plans of mass murder to reach the Soul King and that the Espada knew of them.
    • Learning that the Espada knew about the Oken all along as well as having his failed attempt to escape Hueco Mundo rubbed into his face by Aizen pushes Ben to the brink of despair as he questions whether his friendships with Harribel, Starrk, and their Fraccion was real or not.
  • In Spite of a Nail: Ichigo still uses Mugetsu on Aizen like he did in canon, giving up his Soul Reaper powers in the process/
  • Like Brother and Sister: Ben and Lilynette have a relationship similar to that between an older and younger sibling, with the author stating that it will remain so.
  • Man of Kryptonite: Several of Ben's alien forms are perfect counters to many abilities wielded by the Espada and Gotei 13
    • Cannonbolt is well-suited to deflecting Cirucci's feather-blades thanks to its reflective armor.
    • Diamondhead's crystals can No-Sell Barragan's aging abilities, but are not immune to physical force.
  • Manipulative Bastard: Aizen is still this per canon, selectively choosing to place Ben under Starrk due to his sympathetic background, thus making his actions against Soul Society seem far more just than they really are.
    • Thorn is this, if his reactions to events unfolding in the story are of any indication
  • Mêlée à Trois: What the Karakura Town battle amounts to: Ben, the Soul Reapers, and Aizen all begin to fight one another, with the Soul Reapers being tricked into fighting Ben due to Kyoka Suigetsu making them see him as Aizen.
  • Mundane Utility: Ben uses Armodrillo and Water Hazard to create a swimming pool for his friends to unwind and have fun in.
  • Precision F-Strike: Ben gives one of these when he learns that Aizen plans to kill everyone in Karakura Town to create the Oken, and even Aizen notes how rare it is for Ben to swear.
  • Unskilled, but Strong: Nnoitra. Ben notes during his fight with Grimmjow that, despite being of lower rank, the Sexta (Sixth) Espada is the overall better fighter.
  • Skilled And Strong: In contrast to Nnoitra, Ben regards Grimmjow as this during their fight.
  • The Social Darwinist: Barragan believes in rule of the strong, which is shown in his attempt to destroy the Oasis because to him, its existence is an insult to his Might Makes Right philosophy.
  • Trauma Button: Barragan using Respira on Huecos and Fuego triggers Ben's memories of Malware destroying Feedback, leaving him catatonic for a few minutes.
  • True Companions: Just like the old story, Ben treats his allies as this.
  • Villain Takes an Interest: Szayelaporro Granz holds this towards the Ultimatrix. Unlike other examples involving the Omnitrix or Ultimatrix, he also holds high interest in the individual transformations, as he is ecstatic to be given the withered arms of Swampfire and pieces of crystal made by Diamondhead after Ben's fight against Baraggan Louisenbairn. Eventually, he's able to use an arm from Four Arms that Grimmjow ripped off to create a Hollow version of a Tetramand, and plans to enter Ben's universe and explore the possibility of submitting other alien species to Hollowfication. Furthermore, he's later revealed to use the aforementioned arms and shards to create Hollow versions of a Petrosapien and Methanosian, which Aizen sics on the heroes during his invasion of Fake Karakura Town.
  • Was It All a Lie?: Ben asks Lilynette and Harribel's Fraccion if their friendship was ever genuine after Aizen's revelations, leading them to reply that they do see him as a true friend.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Professor Paradox tells Thorn off for dropping Ben into the Bleach universe while he's at his lowest point and expecting things to turn out smoothly, stating that the events of this story were the best-case outcome of Thorn's reckless actions.
