Aboard The Starship Enterprise
is a series of short fics collected together. Moments in the very interesting lives of the Enterprise crew, presented as a series of one-shots. On an average, the stories can and do range from fluff to angst and back again, from chapter to chapter. Some chapters are episode based, while some are freestanding.
Aboard The Starship Enterprise contains examples of the following tropes
- Action Girl : Overall, the female crew members are every bit as awesome as the male ones. The Mirror Universe Uhura, in particular, is so deadly that Mirror!Kirk doesn't dare take his eyes off her while in the prime universe.
- Bizarre Alien Biology: Of course, this being Star Trek, it comes into play more often than not. Most of the time it is Spock's Vulcan characteristics saving the day, though there are other incidents. For example, when the ship is invaded by an unnamed species, the crew is able to use Argon gas to knock out all invaders with no harm done to the crew species.

Ho Yay:- Of course, with Kirk and Spock involved. McCoy acts, according to situation, as the grumpy uncle or Shipper on Deck.
Even now he wasn’t quite sure of the exact nature of the relationship between the pair (though, if asked, he would bet there wasn’t anything physical involved…yet), but he was certain that they loved each other. No matter what kind of love.- When Spock gets a pet plant that reacts according to its owner's moods...
Kirk: That one looked pretty gentle, to me. Kept caressing my hair, though. - Human Chess: Occurs, thanks to a Reality Warper who takes an interest in the crew.Reality Warper :You are, of course, the King. The Vulcan as the Queen. The doctor and the engineer as the Bishops. The lovely Lt Uhura and the excitable Lt Sulu as the Knights. The Ensign and your security chief – I guess that is the one going over the ship with a fine toothed comb to see whether your body has been shoved into a Jeffries tube or something – as the Rooks. Wasn’t sure where to put the Ensign, really. The pawns, now… Let me see, what are the names… Oh yeah, Garrovick, Kyle, Nurse Chapel, Yeoman Rand, Lt Boma, Yeoman Landon, Lt Riley, Ensign Anderson. Have I got everyone? Yeah, I did. Good.
- Smart People Play Chess : Plenty 3D chess games are involved, mostly happening in the background while the characters are discussing something or referenced casually. However, one incident has a Reality Warper (implied to be a junior Q) kidnapping Kirk and forcing him to play 3D chess with his officers as chess pieces.
- When Trees Attack: McCoy learns, to his disgust, that Sulu has been roping Spock in on his latest botany projectMcCoy: JIM! TELL THAT HOBGOBLIN OF YOURS TO GET DOWN HERE BEFORE HIS BLASTED PET PLANT EATS ME!!!!!
