In a game with dozens of choices that can change your story, there's bound to be unique deaths for each scenario, not all of them being so nice.
Connor
General- "It's up to you how this story ends. Make the right choice, Daniel." If Connor lied about not having a gun to Daniel and opts to threaten the deviant without shooting him, Daniel will shoot him in the head in retaliation.
- "That's enough! You need to stop that right now!" If Carlos' android starts to self-destruct after being interrogated and Connor tries to intervene, the android will shoot Connor and then himself using Chris' gun.
- "I can't take that chance!" If Connor gives chase to Kara and Alice on the highway and gets hit by an oncoming vehicle.
- "I self-test regularly. I know what I am, and what I am not." If Hank is hostile to Connor during "The Bridge", he will shoot Connor after testing whether he's afraid to die.
- "Nothing... there would be nothing." Same as above, if Connor chooses to respond to Hank's last question with "Nothing".
- "Deviant... there was... a... deviant..." If Connor fails to get his biocomponent back in time after it is ripped out by the deviant at Stratford Tower.
- "It's a deviant, stop it!" If Connor gives chase to the deviant at Stratford Tower, the deviant will grab a SWAT officer's rifle and start firing indiscriminately. Connor has the option to shield Hank from the gunfire, sacrificing himself in the process.
- "You have to stop them! If they destroy it, we won't learn anything!" If Simon was left behind on the roof of Stratford Tower and Connor finds him, Connor can charge at his hiding spot and potentially get shot and killed.
- "Wait! I can solve this case! I just need more time!" Connor begging to Amanda for more time if he fails to locate Jericho in time in "Last Chance, Connor". His physical self returns to CyberLife to be decommissioned, while his mental self freezes over from the zen garden's blizzard.
- "Don't do it, Gavin. I know how to stop the deviants." If Connor ends up fighting and losing to Gavin after figuring out Jericho's location in the evidence room.
Deviant Path
- "It's my fault the humans managed to locate Jericho. I was stupid. I should've guessed they were using me. I'm sorry, Markus. I can understand if you decide not to trust me." If Connor became a deviant, after Jericho is attacked, Markus can talk to him and choose to distrust him, leading to him shooting Connor in the head to prevent similar incidents in the future. Afterwards, Connor will be revived by CyberLife and returns to being a machine (initially, if you choose).
- "Alright, alright! You win." If Connor takes too long to choose a course of action after agreeing to save Hank, his copy will shoot him multiple times to punish his indecisiveness.
- "...Anthony/Gabriel/Elliot?" If Connor gets the name of Hank's son wrong while trying to prove that he isn't the impostor, Hank kills him. Connor noticeably winces while answering.
- "You've been a great disappointment to Amanda, you know. You've been a great disappointment to me. Fortunately, that's all going to end now. Any Last Words?" Connor's copy if Connor shoots him after attempting to convert the androids.
- "We'll win... it's only a matter of time." Connor to his copy at CyberLife, if Connor failed to convert the androids and takes too long to choose to transfer, stand up, or shoot, resulting in his copy shooting him dead.
- "I'm sorry, Connor, but you failed." Connor to his copy at CyberLife, if Connor successfully converts the android army and does nothing after the copy shoots him and gives him a "The Reason You Suck" Speech.
- "Well done, Connor... but this? This is just the beginning..." Connor's Evil Twin to him, if Connor was lethally injured and the two of them switched bodies.
- "Don't listen to him, Hank! I'm the one who—" The Connor copy after the real Connor proves he's the real deal, causing Hank to shoot the copy.
- "There's got to be a way..." On the deviant route, Amanda reveals to Connor that he is a Manchurian Agent, and the player can choose to have him commit suicide if he has been made leader of the deviants after Markus and North are killed. If the player takes too long to get Connor to the emergency exit, he essentially "dies" as CyberLife resumes control of him, while if the player succeeds, it is unknown if he went through with it.
Machine Path
- "Don't shoot. I'm on your side." When Connor is held up by a soldier in Jericho and either loses the fight against him or tries to flee.
- "We will meet again, Markus. This isn't over." If Connor stayed a machine in Jericho, fought Markus, and lost, the fight ends with Markus shooting him in the head. Connor is brought back to life by CyberLife and may confront Markus again.
- "The moment of truth, Hank... Am I a living being... or just a machine?" If Connor loses the fight that would otherwise lead to Hank's moment of truth line listed below. Hank will always choose to drop Connor.
- "Killing you is not part of my mission. But you won't stop me from accomplishing it." If Connor wins the aforementioned fight with Hank but decides to spare him, Hank will try to push Connor off the roof anyway, and will succeed if Connor doesn't react quickly enough.
- "You don't understand. My mission is too important to let you interfere!" If Hank committed suicide, Connor will instead be confronted by Captain Allen and his SWAT team. Connor can either jump off the roof to avoid him or fight him and his team and potentially lose.
- "It's not over, Markus. It will never be over." If Connor stayed a machine, fights Markus at the Battle for Detroit, and loses. If the player chose to control Markus, Connor ends up getting stabbed with a pole. If the player chose to control Connor, Markus slits his throat.
- "My mission is to neutralize the leader of the deviants, and I always accomplish my mission." If Markus/North failed to secure Jericho a victory at the Battle for Detroit and Connor remained a machine, Connor will confront an injured Markus/North. If Connor takes too long to choose to shoot or spare them, they will shoot each other at the same time.
- "Shit." If Connor is a machine and Markus sets off the dirty bomb, this is the last we see of Connor.
Kara
- "I love you too..." In reply to Alice during the below sequences where Alice says "I love you," moments before they both die.
- "Alice! No… No!" If Kara repeatedly tries to flee from the soldiers at the end of Crossroads, this is her reaction to Alice being shot in front of her before being shot dead herself.
- "Alice!" If Alice tries to run after reaching 100% stress at the recycling plant and Kara intervenes, Kara takes the bullet for Alice.
- "Alice..." If Alice was killed after reaching 100% stress at the recycling plant and Kara doesn't escape, Kara is destroyed at the recycling plant.
- "Alice, I... I can't go with you... I love you more than anything... I know you'll be happy... without me..." If Kara shields Alice while crossing the river, she will be hit by bullets, and if she gets Alice across in time, she will shut down on the other side.
- "Alice, I... I can't go any further with you... I know I promised I would never leave you... But things didn't turn out like that... There's no other way.... Listen, I... I want you to go with Luther... He'll protect you... He'll get you across the border... Rose will take care of you there... Here's your passport... You're the best thing that ever happened to me, Alice... You made me feel alive. You deserve so much more than I could ever give you... I hope you'll find a real family... and be happy... without me..." Kara sacrificing herself at the Canada Border, leaving Alice in Luther's care.
Markus
- "We're not moving." If Markus sacrifices himself during the Freedom March without recruiting John and while Simon is dead, preventing a Heroic Sacrifice in his defence.
- "RUN! RUN!" If Markus charges the police and fails the QTE sequences fighting them, he'll be mortally wounded and either commit suicide before police can finish him or allow it to happen.
- "And my mission is to save our species. Looks like only one of us can succeed." If a machine Connor confronts Markus in Jericho's engine room and Markus fails to reach Connor's dropped gun before he does.
- "I love you..." If Markus is lethally injured during the Battle for Detroit and refuses North's offer where she tries to give him her heart so he'll live.
- "It's our only chance. I don't want them to kill you." If the revolution fails, North is still alive, and Markus chooses to surrender to the military, they take no chances and shoot the two of them on sight.
- The humans won... Our people have been slaughtered... Go ahead... Take my life. It won't change anything. [...] We fought for a dream and we lost... But nobody can stem the tide of history. One day we will prevail. Thousands of our people died today. What difference does one more make? If North died, Jericho fails to win the Battle for Detroit, and Connor remained a machine, Connor confronts an injured Markus and can either shoot him dead, spare him, or do a Mutual Kill.
- "We are alive. We are alive and we wanna be free!" If Markus chooses to sacrifice himself by self-immolating when cornered by soldiers during a peaceful demonstration.
- "No! NORTH!" If Markus accepts Perkins' offer to surrender the demonstration and North is still alive, Perkins will go back on his word about sparing them.
Alice
- "Kara!" If Kara is killed on the highway, Alice runs to her and also gets run over. Also happens if Kara is shot by a guard while fleeing the recycling plant, in which Alice also runs to her and gets shot.
- "Kara, please save me! Kara! KARA!" If Kara's memory is wiped by Zlatko, fails to remember who Alice is, and fails to find Alice in the ten minutes that the player has before Luther brings Alice to Zlatko, Alice will beg a machine Kara to save her.
- "He's coming, Kara! He's coming!" If Kara repeatedly attempts to flee from the soldiers at the end of "Crossroads", Alice gets shot right in front of her.
- "I love you, Mom..." Alice to Kara if Alice is shot at the recycling plant, shot at the bus station by security if Todd sics security on her and Kara, or dies while trying to escape to Canada by boat.
- "I love you, Kara..." Alice to Kara if they are destroyed together at the recycling plant or if they are caught at the Canada border.
- "We're free, Kara... We're free... I love you..." If Kara surrenders while trying to escape to Canada by boat, the group will be shot and Alice will say this as they bleed out.
- "Please come save me, Kara..." If Kara left Alice at the recycling plant, Alice will whisper this to herself before being decommissioned.
Hank
- "Now leave me alone. Go on, complete your mission, since that's all you care about. GET OUTTA HERE!" If Connor's relationship with Hank is hostile and he quits the police force, Connor will visit Hank one last time, only for Hank to commit suicide out of despair after telling him to get out.
- "Moment of truth, Connor... What are you gonna do?" If Hank ends up confronting a machine Connor who's about to assassinate Jericho's leader from a nearby rooftop and loses the fight against him, Connor can drop him off the roof. Even if Connor chooses to spare Hank, he'll try to push Connor off the roof immediately afterwards, which will still lead to his death if Connor reacts quickly enough.
- "Don't listen to him! Everything this fucker says is a lie!" Hank to Connor when he is held hostage by the Connor copy. These will be Hank's last words if Connor chooses to bluff and fails to rescue him.
- "Forget about me, do what you have to do!" The above scenario, except Connor chooses to apologize to Hank for getting him mixed up in all of this.
- "Woah, Jesus... If anybody had told me I would was gonna get shot saving an android... [...] Shut the fuck up, it's too late. Look... I'm just gonna go see my son again, alright? Been looking forward to that for a long time... Kick the shit outta the humans. They've screwed things up for long enough. I'm gonna miss... I'm gonna miss you, Connor... Yeah, I'm gonna..." If Connor defeats his copy but Hank was shot, Hank dies in Connor's arms.
North
- "Markus!" If Markus successfully arms the explosives in Jericho's engine room, then ignores North when she trips in the hallway, leaving her to be shot by the invading soldiers.
- "You can take my life. It doesn't matter anymore. [...] We fought for our dream and we lost, but you can't hold my people down forever. One day, we'll rise up again, and we will win. Go on. Shoot. What are you waiting for?" If Markus died or was rejected before the Battle for Detroit, Jericho fails to win the revolution under North's command, and Connor remained a machine, Connor confronts an injured North and can either shoot her dead, spare her, or do a Mutual Kill. If she is spared, the news does not indicate her fate.
- "My heart is beating inside your chest. I'll always be with you..." If Markus is lethally injured during the Battle for Detroit and accepts North's offer when she literally offers her heart so that he can live.
- "My heart is beating inside your chest... Now when you’re free, a part of me will always be free with you..." Same as above, if North isn't Markus' lover.
- "It can’t end like this. We’re not gonna give up, we can still get out of here!" If she and Markus are cornered by the military after a failed revolution, Markus can opt to shoot her and then himself.
- "What are you doing? Keep fighting! We can still win!" If North leads the revolution in Markus' place and Connor either became a deviant or was decommissioned, she will be gunned down as the rest of Jericho abandons the fight.
- "I couldn't live without you..." If Markus loses the QTE battle when the military attacks the barricade during the demonstration and North is his lover, she will end up taking a bullet for him.
- "We always said our cause was more important than our lives. Our people died here because they believed in you. Our place was by their side." If Markus accepts Perkins' offer to surrender the demonstration, these are North's last words before Perkins executes her.
Simon
- "I can't, Markus! Go without me!" If Simon is left behind in the Stratford Tower broadcast room when SWAT officers start storming in.
- "There's always a choice." If Simon was injured as Markus and the others escaped from Stratford Tower, Markus can decide to shoot him rather than leave him behind.
- "And dying here won’t solve anything. Markus, we need to go, now, before it’s too late." If Simon is present during the Freedom March and has a good relationship with Markus, and John didn't join Jericho during "Spare Parts", he will sacrifice himself to save Markus if he is taken down by the police.
- "Is that you, Markus? Don't leave me again, Markus! DON'T LEAVE—!" If Simon was left behind on the rooftop and found by Connor and the police, after Connor interrogates him, Connor powers him down.
- "We lost a lot of our people! We gotta move faster or we'll never reach the camp!" When Simon is inevitably wounded in the Battle for Detroit, Markus can potentially leave him to die instead of rescuing him.
- "Set our people free, Markus..." If Markus is lethally injured during the Battle for Detroit, North is dead, and Simon's Relationship Value is at least FRIEND, he will literally give Markus his heart so that he can live.
- "Markus, it's over! We have to get out of here right now!" If Markus' revolution fails and North is dead, Simon will urge him to retreat before getting shot. If Simon was also killed before this point, a nameless android will say this line instead.
- "We're outnumbered and outgunned. We're not getting through this!" If North leads a revolution in Markus' place, Simon will be killed as the battle takes a turn for the worse.
Josh
- "You won't save me this time, Markus. The blood we spill... will be on our hands..." If Markus leads a revolution, Josh is shot during the Battle for Detroit and will die even if Markus tries to rescue him.
- "It's all over... This is the end... Of Jericho..." If Markus died during the freedom march and is discovered by Connor during the attack on Jericho.
- "That's what causes violence. Don't become like them... Markus..." If Markus tries to save Josh during Crossroads, but fails.
Luther
- "You're gonna have to finish the journey without me..." If the police officer discovers him and Alice during "Midnight Train".
- "You're gonna have to finish the journey without me. I was just a machine. You made me part of a family..." If the police officer discovers the androids in the laundry room during "Midnight Train".
- "You two are okay... That's all that matters." If Kara uses Luther as a shield while trying to cross the river to Canada, Luther is hit by bullets and bleeds out.
- "It's too late, Kara! Save yourself! Save Alice! GO!" If Kara chooses to leave Luther behind when he gets wounded during "Crossroads".
- "You're gonna have to continue the journey without me... You're the most extraordinary person I've ever met, Alice. I was a machine... You made me part of a family. Take good care of Kara... You promise me? If Kara tries to attack the soldiers who attack her and Alice at the end of "Crossroads", Luther sacrifices himself to protect the two of them. Alternately, if Luther is present as Kara and Alice try to cross the border via boat, and Kara chooses to jump out to avoid being shot by the patrol boat, Luther ends up being the only one who gets shot.
- "RUN!" If Kara's group is caught by soldiers at the bus station, Luther can be used as a diversion while Kara and Alice escape at the cost of his life.
- "No, don't hurt them!" If Kara chooses to sacrifice no one at the Canada border and Markus/North lead a violent revolution, Luther will be shot by a guard in an attempt to protect Alice and Kara.
- "Don't forget me, Alice..." If Kara chooses to sacrifice Luther at the Canada border, he will pretend to hold Alice hostage, and tell her this as he lets her go before the guards shoot him.
Lucy
- “This is the end of Jericho... Save our people, Markus.” Lucy dying in Markus’s arms during the attack on Jericho.
- "You've chosen your side... But it's too late. Run... Get out of here!" Lucy dying in a deviant Connor's arms during the attack on Jericho, if Markus died during the freedom march.
Daniel
- "You lied to me, Connor. You lied to me..." If Connor convinced Daniel to stand down by being sympathetic and not raising his ire, the SWAT team snipers will kill Daniel anyway.
- "I've spent my life taking orders. Now it's my turn to decide." If a stressed Daniel tells Connor to not come any closer but he does so anyway, or if Connor otherwise fails to negotiate with him, Daniel says this before jumping.
- "I want everyone to leave... And I wanna car! When I'm outside the city, I'll let her go!" Connor has the options to either "Sacrifice Self" or potentially "Use Gun" at this point, both resulting in Daniel's death.
- "You lied to me. You lied to me!" If Connor uses his gun to intimidate Daniel before shooting, instead of shooting immediately.
- "I didn't want this... no, you left me no choice... No choice..." If Connor threatens him with a gun but doesn't shoot him, Daniel will kill Connor and say this before diving off the roof.
Emma
- "No! No, please! I'm begging you!" Emma Philips if Connor fails to save her and does not speak to her during the approach.
- "Please help me... I don't wanna die! I don't wanna die..." Same as above, but Connor chose the "Talk to Hostage" option while approaching.
- "Daniel, no..." If Connor discusses Daniel and Emma's relationship and doesn't choose to "Talk to Hostage".
Todd
- "I own you! You do as I say!" If Kara brings Todd's gun to Alice's room and manages to successfully retrieve it in the scuffle, shooting him.
- "Say goodbye, tin can... And this time you won't be coming back." Same as above but Kara fails to retrieve the gun, prompting Alice to do so and kill him before he can kill Kara.
Zlatko
- "What are you doing here? Who let you out? Who let you out? Get away from me! Get away from me! Obey me! I'm your master! I'M YOUR MASTER!" If Kara freed the androids in the basement, they swarm and kill Zlatko in the backyard.
- "How dare you! I made you! You obey me! I'm your master!" If Kara did not free the androids in the basement, Luther will kill Zlatko with his own shotgun.
Carl
- "Humans are... fragile machines... [...] Remember, Markus... Don't let anybody... tell you who you are..." If Markus doesn't push Leo, Carl dies of a heart attack.
- "So much hatred... Be careful, Markus, that when fighting monsters, you don’t become a monster yourself." Should Markus respond with anger to Carl's advice while visiting him before the Battle for Detroit, Carl will die from the stress.
Ralph
- "Ralph doesn't wanna die. Ralph wants to leave right now. Yes, Ralph wants to leave now. Ralph doesn't wanna die. Ralph doesn't—" If Kara meets Ralph in the recycling camp and insists on asking him where Alice is instead of calming him down, he'll be shot by a military drone.
- "Take good care of the little girl. Ralph wants you both to be happy." If Kara asks Ralph to distract the soldiers while they're in line to be deactivated, he will be shot by them.
- "Run, Kara!" Should Kara lose the fight against the soldier that notices her and Alice trying to escape the camp, Ralph is still alive, and Luther is absent, he can sacrifice himself so that they're able to escape.
Others
- "Come here, you piece of shit! I'll teach you to look me in the eyes..." Carlos Ortiz, as observed if Connor chooses to probe the memory of his deviant android.
- "There’s a place where we can be free! Find Jericho! Find Jericho..." Phileas, the android in the junkyard who entrusts Markus with the key to locate Jericho.
- "Wait! Please! Please, don’t do that! I wanna live..." An android in the junkyard, if Markus takes her pump regulator.
- "Make it quick." Another android in the junkyard, if Markus complies with his request to end his suffering.
- "I'm going to die..." Carlos' android, if he didn't self-destruct during his interrogation and Connor talks to him in his cell afterward.
- "rA9, save me..." In the scenario where Connor catches him, these are Rupert's last words before jumping off the roof.
- "I was glad to meet you, Markus." An unnamed deviant woman Markus can interact with in Jericho, shutting down afterwards.
- "What are you doing? You're not gonna hurt me? No, no, no, you wouldn't do that..." An android laying in a bathtub in Zlatko's house, if Kara shuts him down to keep him from giving her away.
- "But you've... you've taken her away from me. I love her... I loved her!" The blue-haired Traci, if Connor finds her and kills the other Traci, will explain her actions before grabbing Connor's pistol and committing suicide.
- "You don't have to do this... No... Please... Please..." Chris, if Markus doesn't spare him and his partner.
- "Did we win?" An unnamed deviant if Markus attacks the police during the peace march and defeats them.
- "My orders are to detain any androids I find. You're coming with me." Captain Allen, if he confronts a machine Connor who wins the fight against him.
- "No! No, please!" An android disguised as a human whose cover is blown when two soldiers check his temperature.
- "No, no! Wait, wait, wai—! There's gotta be a mistake! Please, no!" A deviant trying to get across the Canadian border who also gets exposed by a temperature check.
- "Hey, wait a minute!" A soldier at a checkpoint that Kara and company can pass through while leaving Detroit, if she tells Luther to shoot him. It turns out he just wanted to return Alice's dropped glove.
- "You risked your life to save us, Kara. If you and the little girl need me, I'll be there." One of the Jerrys, if Kara chooses to sacrifice him to get past border control.
- "I beg you, please don't kill me!" An android in the recycling camp who is asked to dispose of another android's body, if Kara doesn't volunteer in his place.
- "No... No, I will not let you kill me. I wanna get out of here. I WANNA GET OUT!" Another android in the recycling camp, who is shot by a drone.
- "I don't wanna die, Markus! I don't wanna die." An unnamed deviant during the revolution, if Markus doesn't tell him to stay in cover.
- "We're going to win... Aren't we? We'll finally be free..." An unnamed deviant during the revolution if Markus goes left instead of running for the grenade.
