The Optic Ink AU
is a Bendy and the Ink Machine AU by Metamatronic at Tumblr. The AU is a mix of an ask blog and a series of comics. The AU largely focuses on the duo of a no longer inky Sammy Lawrence and "Lensey" (The Projectionist, aka. Norman Polk) trying to escape Joey Drew Studios.
Optic Ink AU provides examples of:
- Almighty Janitor: Quite literally in the case of Wally Franks since he is both a janitor and possess the abilities of "Bendy."
- Ambiguously Gay: Sammy and Norman along with Joey and Henry, due to the time period the game takes place in.
- Badass Adorable: Wally Franks.
- Body Horror: Norman is stuck as an ink creature with a projector for a head and a speaker is seemingly melded to his chest.:
- Cloudcuckoolander:
- Joey Drew, an example being sending a letter to Henry saying 30 years have passed despite it only being six months.
- Wally Franks is shaping up to be this as well as he left Joey stuck in an organ instead of helping him, given though Joey was shouting that he go on without him.
- Cloudcuckoolander's Minder: Henry to Joey.
- Deus ex Machina: How did Sammy get uninked? The answer: Bacon Soup. Justified, as the cans actually contain paint thinner.
- Drama Queen: Joey Drew.
- Even Evil Has Standards: Even the Ink Creatures are weirded out by Henry's drinking of Bacon Soup actually paint thinner and disgusted by his use of a plunger as a weapon.
- Extreme Omnivore: Henry as he can drink pain thinner without getting sick or drink a tub of bleach and be fine."WHAT IS UP WITH YOUR DIGESTIVE TRACK HENRY."
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Allison is a lovely little blond and the nicest character in the cast that everybody, excluding Susie, has no problems with.
- I Call It "Vera": Sammy names every single instrument in the studio, the banjo's name is Deborah.
- Laser-Guided Amnesia: Sammy remembers nothing from being Inked. Wally also has memory problems.
- Little People: Shawn shrunk after passing through an ink fountain.
- Only One Name: Henry. None of his co-workers know his surname.
- Secret-Keeper: Wally Franks is one for both Shawn Flynn and Norman Polk."I totally would, but he doesn’t want me to…Why do I have to keep everyone’s secrets! First Norman, now Shawn…!” Wally in response to an anonymous ask of Shawn's whereabouts.
- Shapeshifter: Shawn Flynn gained this ability after turning into the ink in the bowl.
- Side Effects Include...: In a what if scenario of the gang selling the magic demon ink as an anti-aging substance:"Side Effects include dizziness, nausea, blackouts, and potential demon-worship. Do not use Ink if you are pregnant or have a heart condition—"
