  • Age of Wonders 3: The Seduce and Charm abilities here do not discriminate by sex. Female units like the Bard and Succubus are perfectly capable of seducing and charming other girls, and if you manage to get Seduce or Charm on a male (usually by giving a Leader or Hero an equip item with the ability) they will still be capable of seducing or charming other guys.
  • Ezio from Assassin's Creed II. As he walks/runs/parkours across Italia, assorted allies of both genders comment regularly on how skilled, graceful, and attractive he is. Ezio is hard-pressed to hop a two-foot gap between rooftops without a nearby group of thieves making some kind of positive comment.
  • Ragna the Bloodedge in BlazBlue. Besides Jin's blatant Ho Yay towards him, Arakune's Joke Ending features Hazama wanting to marry an unconscious Ragna.
    • Jin himself as well. He's a Chick Magnet and Nago really wants to take him home. Amane is also interested in recruiting him to his traveling troupe. To the point of even telling him to leave the NOL (even though Jin already defected, by this point). Jin's reaction was just being literally creeped out at the way he stares at him. In Remix Heart, Taro seems to... Love teasing him in a rather unprofessional way. And in one scene where all of the girls are wearing super-sexy bikinis in a beach, the one and only thing that got his attention was... Jin feeling unwell.
  • Jonny from Catherine is a downplayed example. One of the possible scenes you can get at the bar involves the group talking about him while he's in the restroom. Toby wonders how Jonny is so cool and collected all the time, and then says "If i were a girl, I'd be all over him".
    • In Catherine: Full Body Rin is an example that's played for drama. Throughout the story, it's clear that the protagonist finds her attractive. Later on, it's possible for these feelings to evolve into genuine love despite the reveal that they're same gender (the protagonist is shown to be heterosexual up to that point). This can potentially lead to a relationship between them.
  • Devil May Cry:
  • In the City Elf origin in Dragon Age: Origins, if you're a girl who asks Soris about your fiance's appearance, he says, "I'd trade for him."
    • This also applies to the male main character. Zevran will lampshade this while speaking with the Warden, saying that a handsome man like him must draw a lot of female AND male attention.
  • In Dragon Age: Inquisition, at the Winter Palace ball, Cullen is surrounded by a small mob of both male and female admirers who offer to get him drinks, compliment his looks, and invite him to dance. Blackwall observes "nine women and six men" engaged in such behavior, adding that he's pretty sure the commander has received at least four marriage proposals and may need a bodyguard. Cullen himself is not happy about any of this, especially if he's in a romance with the Inquisitor.
  • Ensemble Stars!: What Izumi has for Makoto can only be described as a one-sided heavy crush. He actively seeks to be near him, gets upset when he thinks Makoto is avoiding him, hires people to take pictures of him, and when someone once made a joke about producer confessing to Makoto on the school's roof, he stated that if such thing had happened, he would've pushed both Producer and Makoto off the roof and then jump off himself. One of his cards is even named "If you get too close to Yuu-kun I won't forgive you!".
  • In the RPG Fable, an NPC's romantic interest in the (male) player character is represented by a pink heart above their head. If the player ups his Attractiveness enough, those pink hearts will start to appear above some of the guys as well as the girls. It is possible to propose to and marry these guys, too.
  • Playing as Diarmuid Ua Duibhne in Fate/unlimited codes will net you a remark about his supernatural good looks from nearly every female opponent you come up against... and from Cu Chulainn.
Cu Chulainn: Yo, sexy man - wanna have a go at it?
  • Final Fantasy:
    • In Final Fantasy V, Faris appears to be this, at first, with many of his crew members having crushes on him. When Galuf and Bartz catch a glimpse of Faris asleep, both fall head over heels for him, causing extreme confusion for Galuf (an old man who claims he hasn't 'felt like that in years'). It soon turns out that he's actually a woman.
    • Final Fantasy VI:
      • Setzer, a famous ladies' man and seducer, ends up as this due to a programming oversight/Throw It In! which leads to both Chivalrous Pervert Edgar and Ho Yay-laden Sabin blushing when he starts putting the moves on Celes.
    • Final Fantasy VII:
      • Cloud Strife from is actually stated to be this in Ultimania Omega Guide. "One look at Cloud in drag gets Corneo very excited. Does Cloud's charms enslave even members of the same sex?"
      • Sephiroth is heavily indicated as being this way. Joining SOLDIER to be like Sephiroth is a common dream of young men in the setting, with him having huge amounts of adolescent male fans. His fan club in Crisis Core is (like the other SOLDIER members') full of adolescent girls, but also male characters including its owner. The content of the fanclubs' emails is mostly based around Sephiroth's pretty hair.
      • Final Fantasy VII Remake goes even further with this, having virtually every named character in the setting, man or woman, fawning over Cloud, remarking on his exceptional good looks, or attempting to seduce, massage, or mount him. This doesn't just include women and men, but career prostitutes, asexual robots, and Sephiroth. One Japanese fan made a viral "relationship chart" humorously listing every character in the game as 'liking Cloud'.
    • Final Fantasy XIV:
      • The Player Character Warrior of Light's relationships with certain NPC's is usually written with a bit of leeway for people to assume a romantic implication, which was confirmed to be on purpose by the developers. Notable examples are Haurchefant, Aymeric and G'raha. There is also a case where within the fifth anniversary livestream, two segments were shown with the Warrior on various dates during the Rising that practically screams ship bait. This happens regardless of the Warrior of Light's gender.
  • Ike from Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance and Radiant Dawn has paired endings with two guys (Soren and Ranulf), Elincia seems to have a crush on him in Path of Radiance, Lethe is tsundere for him, Mia is in love with his carnage, and Sothe worships Ike so much that Sothe's girlfriend Micaiah lampshades the Ho Yay by referring to Ike as "the father of Sothe's children".
  • Fire Emblem: Awakening:
    • Libra, the VERY girlish-looking War Monk. Virion seems to be rather infatuated with him even after finding out he's a dude, and his solo ending says he was courted by women and men as he took care of his Orphanage of Love.
    • Also, The Avatar. Aside of his Ho Yay with Chrom and other guys, Vaike describes him in almost dreamy words when he and Tharja have a talk about him. And some of the more flirtatious talks that the female Avatar has with male charas do not change if the Avatar's a dude, i.e. Gregor suggests Intimate Healing to both of them.
    • If one checks on the English version of the Future Past DLC, Grima in the Avatar's body will taunt Lucina via mentioning how much the Avatar loved her father Chrom (even if s/he is married to someone else). The catch is that the dialogue doesn't really change if the Avatar is a dude. Ho Yay or what?!
    • Frederick, Chrom's very handsome Battle Butler, seems to have quite the mancrush on his lord. It's so blatant that even one of Fred's potential brides playfully points out the Ho Yay:
Frederick: "In truths, I've no eyes for anyone else".
Sumia: "Hee hee! Not even Chrom?"
  • Fire Emblem Fates is no slouch in these regards:
    • No guys in the army can exactly resist the Male Avatar's touch in the infamous "skinship" section (which has people of either gender blushing and thanking the Avatar for calling them up), Silas seems to be pretty enamoured with either him or his female self, Jakob and Kaze are as devoted to him as they are to the Female Avatar, and Niles is so taken with the guy that he can flat out propose to him just like he would to a Female Avatar or the other army girls.
    • Prince Leo of Nohr, too. In the Summer Scramble DLC, the aforementioned Niles and his partner Odin are enthralled with Leo's surprisingly nice body and end up fanboying him just like the female subordinates swoon over their respective male lords.
    • Leo's son Prince Forrest is incredibly pretty and girly, and Shigure points out that there are beauties in the army... and then there's Forrest himself.
  • Bridget from Guilty Gear, as in "Everyone's gay for..." And it isn't pure Memetic Mutation: any discussion on the character will have multiple male fans saying "I don't care, *she's* still hot." Of course, being a crossdressing Bishōnen, a girl finding Bridget attractive is in the same "trap." Subverted of course after -STRIVE- where she explictly states she was a trans girl all along.
  • Haseo from .hack//G.U.. He's got his fangirls and Endrance, Ovan, and other guys directing much Ho Yay towards him.
  • In Inazuma Eleven, this trope can be invoked with a pair of skills named "Charm up!" that can be given to both girls AND effeminate guys and it always makes the boys from the opposing team fall in love with your character, whether it's a girl or a boy, and "Cool up", which can be given to the latter to make the girls fall in love with them.
  • Yuri from Infinite Space, considering Cico's obsession to him. There's also his relationship with Dietrich, which is rather questionable when compared to his relationship with other military characters.
  • Ellis in Left 4 Dead is a big fan of Jimmy Gibbs Jr., a famous race car driver. He'll sometimes mention, "If the laws of nature allowed it, I would bear that man's children."
  • The Legend of Heroes: Trails from Zero and Trails to Azure: Protagonist Lloyd Bannings gets hit on by Camp Gay Wazy Hemisphere constantly and has a scene with Randy where he's called a "Lady-killer killer" that has some Homoerotic Subtext to it.
  • Chick Magnet Link even has a male character go on about how handsome he is in the adult timeline of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
    • Also on the subject of Zelda, arguably Link in these videos.
    • The June issue of Out, a magazine focusing on gay and lesbian culture, called Link the Hottest Video Game Character in its "What's Hot Now" section for his role in The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. From the magazine: "When darkness enshrouds the land, Nintendo's sexy farm-boy-turned-wolf sets out to save the day in this upcoming game. His weapons: a sword, a bow, arrows, and kick-ass grooming skills." This isn't the first time Link has been associated with gay culture — he was the inspiration for Xandir P. Wifflebottom, the homosexual video game character in Comedy Central's Drawn Together.
    • In a good number of games Link is already quite the Chick Magnet, and attracts more girls for demonstrating his heroic and badass side even among the Gerudo women who are stated to hate men. In Skyward Sword, he even has the male demon Ghirahim fascinated with him. His Chick Magnet nature even extends outside of the games and is mentioned in other series like Sandra on the Rocks.
    • In addition to Ghirahim and the Poe Collector this article talks about possible feelings other male characters have for Link. Of note are:
      • Ricky the Kangaroo from the Oracle of Seasons manga who was quite gay for Link: gushing over the Chosen Hero, oozing admiration at Link's sword skills, and openly voicing his disappointment at the possibility of him having a female love interest.
      • Fledge is another of Link’s childhood friends in Skyward Sword, who can be described as Link’s biggest fan. Fledge believes that Link can do anything and wants to be exactly like him. It may be a one-sided relationship, but Fledge gives Link several gifts, including a Piece of Heart. Remembering Yeta and Yeto from Twilight Princess, or the Heart Piece in Zelda’s closet at the Knight Academy, the giving of a Heart Piece bears some significance. At night Fledge can be found “working out so that someday [he] might be strong like [Link].” He goes on to say to Link that “it’s not as easy as you make it look. You really are amazing!” Fledge’s infatuation with Link is undeniable, as is his desire to appear strong for Link. He admits that Link seeing him training would be embarrassing, and prefers Link to see him less vulnerable, or even better, strong when throwing pumpkins. To be of use to Link and help the hero in his training makes Fledge somewhat content.
      • Tingle, the Manchild who wants to be a fairy, is obsessed with Link. However, according to Eiji Aonuma, he is not gay.
      • Linebeck is implied to have a hidden affection for Link.
      • Komali, the young Rito, is more rational in his admiration. Komali’s affection is largely directed at Medli, but as the game progresses his feeling for Link deepen. Initially these are feelings of hostility for Link’s intrusion in Rito matters, but once Link rescues Valoo, these emotions turn to reverence and respect.
      • From Oracle of Ages, Nayru’s guardian Ralph is similar to Komali in some ways. Ralph’s feelings, or at least his outward display of them, moves from rivalry to informing Link that his “respect for [him] has grown”, before the end where he simply says “You’re amazing.”
      • In Breath of the Wild, Prince Sidon basically becomes Link's biggest fan after he purifies Vah Ruta and saves Zora's Domain from destruction and often exclaims how incredible Link is with extreme enthusiasm. Additionally, there's a male NPC at one of the stables who will comment that Link has extremely beautiful features and is hit on when he's Disguised in Drag as a Gerudo woman or by Ambiguously Gay male NPC.
  • Love & Pies: When Amelia worries that her coworker and Love Interest Joe might hook up with someone else at the baker's retreat, her Imagine Spot shows both male and female chefs admiring him.
  • Mass Effect: Garrus, of all people, gets hit on by a male casino guard in the Citadel DLC, in addition to the surprisingly extensive list of turian, human, and quarian women who've expressed sexual/romantic interest in him throughout the franchise, including Fem!Shepard herself.
    • He even calls Paragon!Male Shepard out on it in Mass Effect 2.
(Garrus has just sustained a horrific injury)
Garrus: Nobody would give me a mirror. How bad is it?
Paragon!Male Shepard: Hell, Garrus, you were always ugly. Slap some face paint on there, and nobody'll even notice.
Garrus: Ha! Oh, don't make me laugh, my face hurts bad enough as it is. Ah well, everybody was always ignoring you, and hitting on me. Only fair for you to get a shot at it.
Shepard: (smiling to himself and shaking his head)
  • Metal Gear:
  • The "brother" version of NieR was a prostitute for some time in the backstory to support his sister. Word of God is that Emil is also into him.
  • Onmyōji (2016): Apparently Seimei's jutsu posture is so elegant and beautiful that the Hair Eater is absolutely smitten with him after their battle.
  • In Outlast, poor Waylon gets several unwanted attention. Andrew the doctor who straps Waylon down for the morphogenic therapy licks Waylon's face. The inmate who sets Waylon free calls him "pretty flower" and promises to "make him purr". The Cannibal makes creepy suggestive comments about Waylon ("Gorgeous. Just the smell!") and Waylon describes him looking at Waylon with a hint of desire. Gluskin mentions that Waylon is one of the prettiest "girls", attempting to woo him, calling him sexual slurs and wanting to make Waylon his perfect "bride".
  • Persona:
    • Tatsuya Suou from Persona 2 isn't just desired by seemingly every female character in the game (both major and minor), but by even some of the guys (*cough*Jun*cough*) as well.
    • Teddie's human form from Persona 4. He makes extensive use of the Bishie Sparkle and uses it to manipulate women that he comes across. Not to mention during the crossdressing scene he was the only one able to pull off looking like a girl. One male commentator even exclaimed "I'd hit it" even after finding out that Teddie was actually a guy.
  • Plants vs. Zombies 2: It's About Time has the Hot Date. He's capable of attracting zombies to his lane regardless of their gender, and the trailer showcasing him even has him attract a male zombie on a dating site. What makes this ridiculous is that Hot Date is a plant.
  • Randle Sim Racing : An enforced example by RSR's founder and developer Davey Randle, who designed his video game and art characters to be attractive to both males and females, men with big hips, thighs, etc.
  • Arthur from Red Dead Redemption 2 frequently gets males — random citizens and secondary characters alike — complimenting him in-game about how rugged and manly he is (if they're not calling him "pretty boy" or "effeminate").
  • Shovel Knight: In Shovel of Hope's ending, a bunch of women and one burly man swoon over Propeller Knight. This trope can be inverted in Body Swap Mode, where the women and one guy swoon over a female Propeller Knight.
  • In The Sims 2 expansion "FreeTime", one of the rewards for a life well lived is a magic lamp containing a genie. If the Sim chooses "Give Me Beauty" as one of three wishes, s/he is granted automatic maximum chemistry with any Sim of his/her preferred gender, and all the Sim needs to do to activate this trope is to "Flirt... Check Sim Out" at least one Sim from each gender. A bug in the code then causes every NPC and their sister to ring the Sim's doorbell at all hours of the night, making a good night's sleep all but impossible but guaranteeing a gigantic stable of friends and/or lovers. Be Careful What You Wish For.
  • In SNK vs. Capcom, the narcissistic Spanish Ninja Vega pretty much tells Kyo Kusanagi that he's the only male fighter who's almost as handsome as Vega himself, much to Kyo's embarrassment and annoyance. Not to mention Shingo's hero worship of him can be very easily interpreted as a man-crush, and Kyo's tension with Iori is freaking legendary.
    • Also, Vega and Benimaru will both do opening poses normally reserved for female opponents if facing one another. They're that pretty.
    • In the KOF pachinko game, at some point Kyo is surrounded by fans and then ends up buried under a whole pile of them. The "pile" includes both fangirls and fanboys, all of them with floaty hearts around them.
  • In Sonic Unleashed, Louie Montaine loves to go on about how hot he finds Sonic and lusts after his body after every successfully cleared mission offers.
  • Subverted in Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. Decus certainly thinks that his (putrid) cologne has this effect.
  • Tales of Vesperia: YURI LOWELL. There's Zagi's whole violent obsession with him, Flynn's massive amount of Ho Yay, a few NPC seem to be interested in him even after they realize he's actually a guy, Karol sometimes seems to have a Precocious Crush and even Raven has a few moments despite otherwise only showing interest in women (especially Judith).
  • Neku Sakuraba from The World Ends with You has a case of this going on. Ignoring the Ho Yay vibes he gets from Joshua for a moment, there's one point in Week 2 where Minamimoto starts following him and Joshua around, and Joshua wonders aloud whether it's because he's taken a fancy to Neku. Not to mention certain male clerks will start getting a little friendly with him as their FSG rises.
  • In World of Warcraft, Lor'themar Theron, the leader of the blood elves, has an ability called "Mass Charm" which charms members of both sexes.
