Didnt Think This Through / Manga Soprano

Go To

The antagonists almost never think of possible flaws in the plans they're going to carry over, nor the long-term results they're going to get, as long as they get to screw the protagonist over and sink them into despair.

Therefore, this warrants Manga Soprano its own Didn't Think This Through page.

  • "My sister plundered my fiancé! Now my arranged marriage partner is also plundered": Nonoka hijacks her sister Ram's Arranged Marriage to Ikki-san and uses her cute looks to sway him to her side in order to make Ram despair. However, Ram thanked her for doing so and left; Nonoka didn't suspect anything wrong about that action and took it as a victory, hoping to live happily ever after. However, her illusion was shattered when Ikki-san showed his true colors to her after marrying, as he was a misogynistic abuser and serial cheater who despised working women.
  • "On the eve of the wedding, my fiancée was snatched away by a bratty junior colleague...": Shiho flirted with the stern, imposing Chief Kairi hoping he would fall for her charms and marry her, but he doesn't fall for her tricks. When he talks with Ram, she can't stand it and makes the mistake of confessing her feelings for him in the hopes he will dump Ram for her. Instead, Shiho is given a reprimand for being flirtatious and becomes the target of rumors, especially about her messing around with people's fiancés.
  • "The day before her wedding, her pregnant sister took her fiancé from her": Masashi dumped his fiancée Ram for her sister Yuri since the latter didn't have a job and would become a housewife and stuffed his money into Ram's luggage on her way out. However, he didn't take into account that his new fiancé was a Spoiled Brat whose overspending antics busted his fraud scheme, nor that Ram wasn't foolish nor greedy enough to leave with his money. After that happened, he confessed to his crimes to Ram thinking she would forgive him only for her to call the cops on him. Conversely, Yuri herself didn't bother to check if her "meal ticket" was actually a fraudster and hired a pair of thugs to beat Ram up in front of Kairi's izakaya parlor in broad daylight without considering he would come on Ram's aid and knock the thugs down. Even if the thugs managed to beat Ram to a pulp, they would still be arrested and forced to confess who sent them, so Yuri was screwed either way.
  • "A misunderstood woman who pretends to be a lover when she is not even in a relationship": Misato constantly flirted with Chief Alto to become his girlfriend just because she mistakenly thought his "hot look" was directed at her; she didn't care if her antics would bankrupt the company in one fell swoop. Furthermore, when she playfully pleaded with him that she'll do anything for him, Misato didn't consider he would order her to quit. When she tried to play it off as a joke, she insulted Kanade to make herself look good expecting he would agree, but Alto reprimands her even harder and reveals Kanade is his fiancée. Moreover, she didn't take into account that Kanade would report her behavior to him, that the male staff backed Kanade up on the report, nor that Alto would lay the groundwork to make sure Misato isn't hired in any surrounding company after her resignation.
  • "After being taunted with a wheelchair on a graduation trip and left at a train station": Misuzu and her posse hijacked the graduation trip to Disneyland planned by Kanade to leave both her and Haru (the wheelchair user in question) behind at the train station since the former told them it would be 10,000 yen a night. However, the bullies didn't bother to think it was actually a special offer that only applied if Kanade was present, which comes back to bite the three of them when the receptionist charges them the original price of 3 million yen a night; by the time they called Kanade to come help them, it was too late as she and Haru were enjoying themselves at DisneySea.
  • "I was pretended to be dead by my family, and I took revenge": After getting her older sister Haru kicked out of the house, Kiyomi pretended her dead while casting herself as a "selfless devoted girl" at her wedding day. However, she didn't account that Haru was present at the wedding since she was a designer who helped Ram with planning said wedding to suit Kiyomi's tastes nor that she would show up on stage to expose Kiyomi's lies. The bride in question also didn't consider some of her guests knew she was lying, nor that her fiancé was a huge playboy who was repeatedly turned down by Haru.
  • "When we went to a spa, my father-in-law came into the spa with me...": Ram's father-in-law planned a trip to a hot spring without his son Kairi in order to have Ram all to himself. When he heard the inn's landlady mentioning "unisex baths", he follows Ram to the hot spring so he could have his way with her. However, the old coot was too much of a pervert to stop and pay more attention to what the landlady said, which was that the inn used to have unisex baths; the one to which he followed Ram was the women's bath. He ended up paying for his mistake when other women show up and throw wood buckets at him after his towel dropped.
  • "My sister pregnant with my husband's child → "Thank you!" The reason I thanked her..." [sic]: Rie had an affair with Haru's husband Ryo after finding out he worked for a prestigious trading company; she became pregnant with his child so Haru will give him up and quit her job hoping to live off his money. However, when Rie showed up to claim him, she didn't foresee Haru thanking her for it nor did she consider that Ryo would be so gutless as to quit his job just because of a bad day, nor she did consider that was the reason he had the affair in the first place. Thus Haru leaves the lovebirds alone, begging, and bickering.
