Despair Murder Party is a Tumblr-based roleplay based on the game Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc. It features a class of SHSL students trapped in a mansion known as the Dulcia Mansion and forced into a murder game of kill or be killed.
The sequels, Despair Murder Party: Souhaiter and Despair Murder Party: Maledictione are expected to begin before the end of the year.
Despair Murder Party contains examples of:
- A House Divided
- Bittersweet Ending: Despite everything, people were still dead and all the survivors got was just that; survival.
- Conviction by Contradiction: The culprit of chapter two's murder was undoubtly Kitsune until of course, she points out that it wasn't her who made the final blow to the back of Lynn's head.
- Deadly Game
- Make-Out Kids: Ryoto and Kitsune, particularly after the second trial.
- Twist Ending: Turns out in the end, the murder game had been stuck in a timeloop thanks to the SHSL Maid/SHSL Time Traveler. Ayami Jikan-Miyazaki.
- Two Dun It In trial two, it was revealed that Kitsune made all of the blows to Lynn with exception to the one caving in her skull, made by Kanon Suzuki.
- Undignified Death: Poor Kitsune died drunk AND passed out.
- Meaningful Name: Ayami Miyazaki's real name is Ayami Jikan-Miyazaki, with the "jikan" translating to time, leading back to her identity as the SHSL Time Traveler.
- Undying Loyalty: Ryoto believes in it, to the point he's not afraid of dying for those he's loyal too
- Hair of Gold, Heart of Gold: Eirik seems to be an example of this for much of the game, until he's revealed to be Kitsune's murderer and executed.
