Darth Wiki / Despair Into Tomorrow

Go To

Dear Students,

We're happy to welcome you to Hope's Peak Love Matching program. We did not expect it to be as popular as it was, but we are thrilled at its success. All of you have been placed into rooms by yourselves, but no worries! You will not be alone for long. Please make yourselves comfortable, as for this first week we encourage interaction. This time would be best spent as a nice way to get to know your possible lover. Not having a partner after this week will be considered a failure, and be treated accordingly.

-Sincerely, The Principal

Despair Into Tomorrow is a discord-based Danganronpa roleplay featuring a cast of twenty-six original characters, all written and played by a colorful variety of fans. The basic premise is that these students, all from different years at Hope's Peak, have suddenly awakened in a strange place with no memories of how they got there. On top of that, they seem to be ever so slightly older, as if a few years have passed since their last memories.

From there, all participants are informed that this is some sort of twisted match-making program, in which all must find a partner who they will be with until the end of the game...or the end of their lives. Whichever comes first! If they fail to do so... well, then they die. The end. Goodbye.

To accompany the 'partnership' system are some new rules to the classic Danganronpa-brand killing game. For starters, all murders are required to be double murders. Within a certain time limit, if a killer does not get their victim's partner as well, they will be immediately executed without trial. On top of that, anyone who is left partnerless (which means their partner either died accidentally, was executed as a rule-breaker, or was executed as a killer) must partner up with the next available person, no exceptions.

Can you feel the love tonight?

Pandora's Pixel Icon

Pandora Wolfhart - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Cult Leader

  • Mystery Cult : Completely subverted, as she is incredibly open about her 'cult', and seems to genuinely consider it to be a wonderful group to be a part of.
  • Benevolent Boss : Seems to be extremely kind to those within her following.
  • Friendless Background : Has mentioned she had no friends as a child.
  • Rousing Speech : Gave a few small ones of these to Nathan and Minato, leading to their friendship.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/008_9.png
Nana's Pixel Icon

Nana Nakano - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Lucky Student

  • The Gambler : Seems to be quite confident in her own luck, and often challenges people to bets and wagers. This implies she considers her luck to be a true talent.
  • Professional Gambler : In addition to the above.
  • The Bet: She and her partner, Pandora, only got together based on a bet.
  • Handcuffed Briefcase : Nana is never seen without her briefcase, so it might as well be handcuffed to her at this point.
  • Baths Are Fun : She was once in a bath for 11 hours.
  • The Nicknamer : Gives every student a... strange nickname.
  • Lie Detector : Claims to be quite good at telling when someone is lying.

Pair 2 - Bryce Evans and Ridge Tatakau

Tropes for this pair:

  • Held Gaze : Much of their bonding before becoming a pair involved Bryce staring at Ridge while flustered.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/018_7.png
Bryce's Pixel Icon

Bryce Evans - Status: ESCAPED

Talent: Ultimate Street Dancer

  • Crush Blush : First bonded with his partner, Ridge, over being teased over his blushing face.
  • Skipping School : He dropped out of school.
  • The Talk : Had to be the one to explain to Kyuusai that men don't get periods. He was greatly amused by the fact that a hitman could be so innocent about such things.
  • Gag Penis : Was pleasantly surprised to look in his pants to find that at least something had grown in the past few years he'd forgotten...

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/ridge.png
Ridge's Pixel Icon

Ridge Tatakau - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Violinist

  • Chivalrous Pervert : Flirts with people to no end, but actually seems to have a lot of respect for those he teases, and refuses to make physical advances without consent.
  • Elegant Classical Musician : Subverted. Though his art form may be elegant, he is most certainly not.

Pair 3 - Ume Moriya and Cynthia Marshall

Tropes for this pair:

  • Cartwright Curse : Haha, poor Ume... getting together with Cynthia signed her death ticket.
  • Off with His Head! : Both of them were killed through 'feral severation', which was a fancy way of saying Anjou Hinegure gnawed their heads off. Then, Cynthia's head was lost under her bed, and Ume's was placed in the bathroom. What happened to the bodies? Well... Anjou served them up for dinner. Nobody even knew.
  • Mystery Meat : What those poor ladies ended up being.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/002_0.png
Ume's Pixel Icon

Ume Moriya - Status: DEAD

Talent: Ultimate Kendo Master

  • We Hardly Knew Ye : The person intended to play Ume went completely inactive before the game started.
  • Convenient Coma : To explain why Ume hasn't done anything since the start of the RP, a somewhat humorous and rather odd plot about her being accidentally put into a coma was written up.
  • Oral Fixation : Her design includes a bean sprout hanging out of her mouth.
  • Losing Your Head : When Minato Okumura was trying to visualize her murder case in his head, he kept picturing Ume's head as someone else's...
  • Decapitation Presentation : Ume's head was hidden in the bathroom, with the sole intention of someone walking in, finding it, and... being a bit upset.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/024.png
Cynthia's Pixel Icon

Cynthia Marshall - Status: DEAD

Talent: Ultimate Hairstylist

  • Improbable Hairstyle : Subverted. Though her hair is massive and improbable, she's not called the Ultimate Hairstylist for nothing, now is she?
  • Death Flag : Being that she's the admin's character, she's to be the first victim... which means if you've paired with her, you're going down with this ship. Literally.
  • Fiery Redhead : Her hair is an extremely vibrant ruby-red, and she's got a sharp tongue on top of that.

Pair 4 - Arii Tashiro and Kantan Yorokobi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/022_3.png
Arii's Pixel Icon

Arii Tashiro - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Blackmailer

  • "Blackmail" Is Such an Ugly Word : Subverted. He attempted to hide his talent, but didn't seem to put much effort into it. Even if he did try to hide it, however, the public student profiles gave him away.
  • The Short Guy with Glasses: He's 4'11, and often wears around sunglasses.
  • Never Bareheaded: He wears his hat almost everywhere, despite it's size.
  • I Ate WHAT?! : He was one of the unlucky bunch that ate the 'Hinegure Special'... which was the flesh of Ume and Cynthia.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/015_94.png
Kantan's Pixel Icon

Kantan Yorokobi - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Graffiti Artist

  • Cool Mask : He wears a strange mask that covers his mouth and jaw.
  • Shrinking Violet : Is quite quiet and shy, but subverted in that he does make a few, weak attempts to socialize and connect with other people.
  • Oblivious to Hints: Isn't quite good at picking up social cues.

Pair 5 - Kin Ishikawa and Amelie La Chance

Tropes for this pair:

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/012_1.png
Kin's Pixel Icon

Kin Ishikawa - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Deal Maker

  • Deal with the Devil : His talent as a 'Deal-Maker' involves him settling agreements... as well as getting what he wants out of people. Minato, in particular, has literally referred to making deals with him as a 'deal with the devil'.
  • Read the Fine Print : Subverted. The contract in which one had to sign to become his partner was extremely simple, but that almost made it worse, considering right there on the contract it stated that his partner would have to die for him if necessary.
  • Brutal Honesty : The truth will either set you free, or make you feel like garbage.
  • Cannot Tell a Lie : Refuses to lie, even when a lie would make his life infinitely easier.
  • Minor Flaw, Major Breakup : Had extremely high standards while searching for a partner.
  • Never My Fault : Rarely takes the blame for anything.
  • Artificial Limbs : After Minato broke his arm in the prologue, it was amputated and replaced with a robot arm.
  • Expecting Someone Taller : He's... wait for it... a whopping 5'4.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/020_3.png
Amelie's Pixel Icon

Amelie Lachance - Status: DEAD

Talent: Ultimate Webcomic Artist

  • Apologetic Attacker : Is generally a very apologetic person, but beat up Seimei in Chapter 1 after he said Kin didn't care about her.
  • Everyone Looks Sexier if French : Often described as being quite pretty, as well as being very, very French.
  • Cuddle Bug : Loves to give hugs!
  • Love Martyr : Was willing to accept the horrific conditions for being Kin's partner, just so he wouldn't be in danger of dying partnerless.

Pair 6 - Minako Rina and Seimei Onmyo

Talent: Ultimate Ghost Hunter

Pair 7 - Kyuusai Ikeda and Kyougo Sakurai

Tropes for this pair:

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/011_0.png
Kyuusai's Pixel Icon

Kyuusai Ikeda - Status: DEAD

Talent: Ultimate Hitman

  • Hitman with a Heart : Despite his cruel occupation, he seems to have a softer side, and does not enjoy taking lives.
  • The Talk : Had to have the fact that men don't have periods explained to him.
  • Badly Battered Babysitter : He claims that he stabbed a babysitter once. Considering the generally stab-y nature of his profession, this may not be a joke. It's later confirmed that this is indeed an event that actually happened, from Chapter 2's murder motive.
  • Sweet Tooth : A man of sweets he is. He especially loves ice cream mochi, but generally loves sweet things. Too bad his personality isn't as sweet.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds : If your his friend, that doesn't mean he will always take it easy on you. Oh, no, he will still torment you if you're fine with it. However, because of this, many might think that his intentions are to purposefully hurt others. An example of this is when he pushed Hanako's head into the sink, and Izayoi thought he was attempting to harm her.
  • Childhood Friends : It's known that Kyuusai has a childhood friend who went missing in fifth grade. Despite him hurting internally from this, he seems to bring up the fact that he's missing rather easily, as if it did not affect him.
  • The Stoic : Likely due to his past, Kyuusai has never been one to show emotions all that frequently, even when he asks embarrassing questions.
  • Strong and Skilled : Contrary to belief (but also not, considering that he is a hitman), he's strong and skilled. The only thing holding him back, really, is the amount of low numbers rolled when flipping somebody.
  • Big Brother Instinct : Kyuusai is the big brother of his sister! And with this comes his protectiveness of her. While it can be adorable, unintentionally or not, messing with his sister can possibly screw you over. He claims that he stabbed his babysitter because she scared his sister.
  • Blood Oath : It seems like hitmen draw their bloods for others and put it on something where it can't wash out to prove their loyalty to someone!
  • Desperately Craves Affection : This man? He craves affection. He likely won't turn down any offers for it. Can you blame him, though, when his only friend in his past was highly affectionate with him?
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension : Between him and Mark, it's kind of obvious that, well...
  • Everyone Can See It : Seriously. Everyone totally knew that him and Mark were going to end up together eventually, even through the denial.
  • Fool for Love : What more can I say? This hitman is actually interested in romance, and prefers seeing happy couples to sad ones.
  • Love Hurts : Unfortunately, his love for Mark was ultimately his and Mark's downfall, considering that in Chapter 3, he set up a trap to catch and kill Seimei to help Mark. This resulted in Mark's and Aurelie's death, and Kyuusai's execution. Shit's fucked.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/023_6.png
Kyougo's Pixel Icon

Kyougo Sakurai - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Game Show Host

  • Spiky Hair : His hair is extremely spiky, as well as brightly colored. This has lead to a considerable amount of teasing from all sides, even from his own partner.
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend : He insists he only partnered up with Kyuusai because they were the only two left without a partner. Time will tell if this is true.
  • Game Show Host : His talent.
  • Nobody Touches the Hair : Kyougo is extremely protective over his hair. It is his pride and joy.

Pair 8 - Chantal Antoinette and Hanako Manami

Tropes for this pair:

  • First Love : This pair was the first one to get together in-character.

Chantal Antoinette - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Matchmaker

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/013_5.png
Hanako's Pixel Icon

Hanako Minami - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Chemist

  • Not Big Enough for the Two of Us : Another Ultimate Chemist was applied to the RP, however Hanako was accepted instead. (Fear not, the person who submitted the other chemist got in with a different character!)
  • The Snark Knight : Her general disposition.
  • Sour Outside, Sad Inside
  • I Ate WHAT?! : She was one of the unlucky bunch that ate the 'Hinegure Special'... which was the flesh of Ume and Cynthia.
  • Afraidof Needles : It is implied through the dream motive that Hanako was injected with needles in her youth and further on afterwards.
  • Brilliantbut Lazy : Hanako is very skilled when it comes to chemicals and science, but most of the time fools around and acts more childish than hardworking.
  • Youthful Freckles : Her face is scattered with freckle after freckle, a very distinguishable trait when it comes to this chemist.
  • Abusive Parents : Hanako before has openly mentioned that her father experiments on her, but doesn't seem to mind pointing out this concern, and even expresses concern and fear for her father's safety in the first motive. Her true feelings about these issues are currently unknown.

Pair 9 - Aurelie Ebner and Mark Davis
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/019_6.png
Aurelie's Pixel Icon

Aurelie Ebner - Status: DEAD

Talent: Ultimate White Witch

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/025_2.png
Mark's Pixel Icon

Mark Davis - Status: DEAD

Talent: Ultimate Hide and Seek Player

  • Cool Shades : Has heart-shaped sunglasses that he wears almost everywhere. In fact, some of the cast has wondered if he even has eyes underneath them...
  • Dumb Blonde : He's definitely blond, and his intelligence can be... questionable at times.
  • Hammerspace Hideaway : By nature of his talent, he can fit himself in spaces that should be too small for him, like a washing machine.
  • Made of Indestructium : Technically his sunglasses, even if they aren't plot relevant.
  • MadeOfIron : He's been through a lot, even in just chapter one- he's been flipped, trapped in a washing machine, beat up with a weight...yet somehow, he doesn't really have any long lasting damage.
  • I Ate WHAT?! : He was one of the unlucky bunch that ate the 'Hinegure Special'... which was the flesh of Ume and Cynthia.
  • Belligerent Sexual Tension : Between him and Kyuusai, it's kind of obvious that, well...
  • Everyone Can See It : Seriously. Everyone totally knew that him and Kyuusai were going to end up together eventually, even through his own denial.

Pair 10 - Ren Setsuzoku and Izayoi Matsuda

Tropes for this pair:

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/005_7.png
Ren's Pixel Icon

Ren Setsuzoku - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Assistant

  • Deal with the Devil : Was very nearly roped into one of Kin's shady deals, before a few witnesses on the scene talked him out of it.
  • Sibling Yin-Yang : He and his sister Rin are complete opposites, but still seem to get along just fine.
  • Extreme Doormat : Doesn't seem to be able to say no to people.
  • Apologises a Lot: If someone is upset and he thinks it's because of him, this will be his default reaction.
  • Face Your Fears: Speaking in front of people is the last thing he wants to do, but he managed to interject in the first trial a couple of times.
  • Gender-Blender Name

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/014_7.png
Izayoi's Pixel Icon

Izayoi Matsuda - Status: DEAD

Talent: Ultimate Monk

  • Our Nudity Is Different : He seems to be unaware of social taboos involving nudity or sex. This has lead to many awkward moments, one of which involving him offering to massage another characters genitals in order to relieve pain.
  • Cloudcuckoolander : He often behaves in a strange manner, and rarely makes any attempts to explain himself or his intentions.
  • The Quiet One
  • Challenge Seeker : Izayoi is constantly looking for new ways to hone their skills, be it through reflex or endurance exercises.
  • Self Harmony : His talent is based around control and awareness of his body and mind, and being able to utilize natural abilities inherent to the human body - this spans from extreme hand-eye coordination, to being able to ignore most levels of pain.
  • Painful Distraction : At times when he feels he cannot control his emotions, Izayoi has the tendency to cause harm to his body to distract his mind - this can be done through rigorous exercise, or to extremes such as forcing limbs to dislocate temporarily.
  • The Hermit : He grew up alone with his father up upon the Japanese Alps.
  • Nerves of Steel : It seems as though he's nearly impossible to shake emotionally.

Pair 11 - Nathan Ryan and Minato Okumura

Tropes for this pair:

  • Brooding Boy, Gentle Girl : Except, more like Brooding Boy, Gentle and Slightly Feminine Boy. Minato rarely lets his sarcastic facade slip, but when he does... Nathan has been there for him a few times, just trying to help cheer him up. Subverted in that Minato also offers his support to Nate when it's needed, so it's not all one-sided.
  • Can't Act Perverted Toward a Love Interest : Minato can crack nasty jokes and sarcastic advances left and right, but the second they're towards Nathan, he suddenly clams up.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/007_7.png
Nathan's Pixel Icon

Nathan Ryan - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Criminologist

  • Long-Haired Pretty Boy : Has long, pink hair.
  • Bathtub Bonding : Subverted. When Minato walked in on him bathing in Chapter 1, it ended in both of them being too embarrassed to do anything but scream and run away from each other.
  • Mistaken for Gay : His relationship with Minato was platonic, however due to how openly affectionate they are towards one another, people often misinterpret... in the end, they got together anyways.
  • It Doesn't Mean Anything : Invited Minato to sleep with him (non-sexually, of course) in order to help with his nightmares. But it's totally platonic... right? (Spoiler: It wasn't.)
  • She Is Not My Girlfriend : He and Minato are just friends! Really!
  • AM/FM Characterization : He and Minato bonded over many things, music included!
  • Bishōnen : He's a pretty boy, what can I say?
  • Adaptational Sexuality : According to Word of God, he was originally written to be heterosexual, but this was changed when the chemistry between him and Minato was shown.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/009_9.png
Minato's Pixel Icon

Minato Okumura - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Robotics Engineer

  • Full-Frontal Assault : Seimei challenged him to a fight in Chapter 1 while he just so happened to be in the bath. That didn't stop him from accepting the challenge, however, and fought him while completely naked. (And almost won)
  • Big Brother Mentor : Often takes on a brotherly role towards many of his friends.
  • Berserk Button : Don't call him Akuma...
  • Badass Longcoat : Slightly subverted in that he thinks he's cool, but most people think he just looks homeless.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy : He's a genius. Just as soon as he can get off his sorry ass.
  • Drowning My Sorrows : He has a bad habit of doing this...
  • Attack! Attack! Attack! : He doesn't know when to quit. The assault on Kin's room and the constant fighting with Seimei should be evidence of this.
  • Chaotic Stupid : He's not stupid, but boy does he act that way sometimes.
  • Did I Just Say That Out Loud? : He rarely thinks before he acts, which leads to him saying and doing things that immediately end up humiliating him.
  • Emotionally Tongue-Tied : Just as bad at giving compliments as he is receiving them.
  • Leeroy Jenkins : He does the stupid sh*t so you don't have to!
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes? : Has many oddly specific fears and phobias.
  • Too Hungry to Be Polite : Eats like a rabid animal... when he remembers to.
  • Anger Born of Worry : Snapped at Nathan in Chapter 1 after realizing he wasn't sleeping.
  • Cannot Talk to Women : Pandora and Minako seem to be the only exceptions, and even then, he struggles.
  • Unmanly Secret : Minato has gynophobia.
  • Weirder Than Usual : He's always a bit... quirky, but he was acting especially strange after the subject of abuse was brought up in a conversation with Ren in Chapter 1. A later flashback implied that this sensitivity was because he was a victim of severe childhood abuse, himself.
  • Cannot Tell a Joke : Usually, he can be pretty funny, but... sometimes his jokes fall flat. Especially ones about his personal issues, which can drive the implication that they're... well, not jokes.
  • Crying Wolf : He's a compulsive liar.
  • All Gays are Promiscuous : Subverted. He's technically pansexual, not homosexual (though he does have a preference for men) and he's expressed his distaste for sex many, many times.
  • Naked First Impression : His... strange rollercoaster friendship with Seimei began with Minato fighting him on sight. Sometimes while naked.
  • Anxiety Dreams : Refused to sleep the night after Kyuusai's trial, because he feared that he might have nightmares about himself killing Nathan just like how Kyuusai killed Mark.
  • Break His Heart to Save Him : Subverted. After Kyuusai's trial, Minato broke up with him, fearing that being in a relationship would just hurt them both. Of course, this decision just made him more miserable.

Pair 12 - Rin Setsuzoku and Miko Kimoto
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/004_0.png
Rin's Pixel Icon

Rin Setsuzoku - Status: DEAD

Talent: Ultimate Talk Show Host

  • Sibling Yin-Yang : She and her brother Ren are complete opposites, but still seem to get along just fine.
  • The Pollyanna : Endlessly optimistic and cheerful, and always out to make those around her smile.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/010_1.png
Miko's Pixel Icon

Miko Kimoto - Status: ALIVE

Talent: Ultimate Automobile Mechanic

  • Nightmare Fuel Station Attendant : Is usually pretty friendly and outgoing, but often comes off a bit...
  • Will They or Won't They? : Teased Nathan and Minato about how their relationship must be romantic. The two unsurprisingly denied this with a passion.
  • Creepy Cute : She's adorable! ...most of the time!
  • Uncanny Valley Girl : Subverted in that she doesn't seem to be some sort of slasher killer, but boy, does she come off as unsettling sometimes...

Pair 13 - Anjou Hinegure and Tsugumi Kanbayashi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/021_13.png
Anjou's Pixel Icon

Anjou Hinegure - Status: DEAD

Talent: Ultimate Food Preserver

  • Rose-Haired Sweetie : She's energetic and very pink-haired.
  • Death by Gluttony : Even after he was full to the point of collapsing onto the floor, Anjou continuously insisted that Minato eats more of her food. He did, and while it was good food, he still immediately emptied his stomach afterwards.
  • Impossibly Delicious Food : Her food is described as being just that good.
  • ScaryTeeth : She has hyperdontia - excess teeth in her mouth. Not only that, but her teeth have been described as sharp and crooked.
  • I'm a Humanitarian : Was revealed to be a cannibal at the end of her trial, and also fed the bodies of her victims to the cast without their knowledge.
  • More Teeth than the Osmond Family : She was described as having 'rows and rows of shark-like teeth'. And she knew how to use them, too. It's implied that she killed Cynthia and Ume by gnawing their heads off.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tsugumi_9.png
Tsugumi's Pixel Icon

Tsugumi Kanbayashi - Status: DEAD

Talent: Ultimate Maid@@

  • Lady and Knight : Her relationship with her charge, Risa, could be described as such.
  • Loyal to the Position : Even when it is not necessary for her to do her maid work, she continues to do so of her own free will.
  • Closer to Earth : She's generally the one to save people from themselves.
  • Offscreen Romance : She's hopelessly in love with 'Risa'. Of course, she's not in the cast, so we'll never meet her.

Also worth mentioning (unfortunately), are the two hosts of the killing game.

Jellykuma

One of the hosts. It's a robotic, floating jellyfish.

  • TerrestrialSeaLife : Jellykuma is very much terrestrial- in fact, the setting the RP takes place in currently does not have a permanent body of water.
  • PuppeteerParasite : They are capable of popping onto unwilling humans' heads to control them. Subverted in that it isn't intended to be permanent.

Multikuma

The other host. It's an amalgam of many different parts all stuck unpleasantly together.

  • Creepy Cute : In some of the drawings of it shared by the admin playing it, it can be... oddly adorable?

This roleplay provides examples of:

  • All Crimes Are Equal: You'll be just as dead no matter how minor your slight against the rules is.
  • Anyone Can Die: This RP was advertised as being 'very easy to die in', and considering how it's already quite easy to die in a DRRP...
  • Black Blood: Well, more accurately, pink. This is Danganronpa, after all. However, it's red in-universe.
  • Cast Full of Gay: Though not all pairs are romantic (it seems, in fact, that those that are make up the minority) the fact stands that there are more pairs between two men and two women, and fewer that are with a man and a woman.
  • Children Forced to Kill: What did you expect? It's Danganronpa! Though... subverted in that though the characters are mentally teens due to not remembering being adults, they are still technically no longer children.
  • Comm Links: The whole cast was conveniently provided with an e-handbook for each person- complete with a group chat that they couldn't leave.
  • Cruel and Unusual Death: It's not Danganronpa without those lovely, lovely executions.
  • Deadly Game: There's many, many ways to die. None of them are pleasant.
  • I Have Your Wife: The first motive involved loved ones for each student being kidnapped.
  • Involuntary Battle to the Death: The whole killing game.
