The Red Berry Boys' hideout was found by Duane and the Peaceguard while they were doing this so they fled leaving her to bleed out on the table.
- After drinking from a bottle laced with Rat Traps, which explode with little sharp saw edged pieces of metal after being consumed, Ephsephin begs his boss for medical aid. Starfish grabs his hand and smiles as he beats Ephsephin's head in with a bottle.
- Turas gets ripped up and eaten alive by Duane, then while the khert was seperating his memories from his soul he tried to reach Duane and Sette in denial over his own death while repeating that he could return if he just brought Sette to Starfish as he'd been ordered. When Duane comes back to himself he finds that Turas' body is entirely unrecognizable but is darkly amused he'd managed to not tear up Turas' legs since he had a broken leg bone he needed to replace.
- Toby was garroted by his friend Stockyard, with his desperate struggle to escape or grab Stockyard to stop him accompanied by the sounds of him mindlessly kicking at the floor until he expires.
- The smoke eels of the First Silver Weapon transform into things which make people remember their worst day—a still-born baby

- Elan gets his chest crushed before getting core leeched for extra measure, causing him to be dissolved painfully by the khert.
- Vienne Quigley was tortured to within an inch of her life in front of her young son, and when she still refused to give up any of her secrets the agents burning her workshop told her it was her own husband, whom she'd been screaming for, who sold her out before finishing her off.
- The Etalarche Curse makes Roger a cypher for the Dammakhert, which can only be deciphered by melting and dismantling his memories and soul. A process that takes over fifteen years and won't even leave his soul for an afterlife, unmaking him entirely.
- An Inak father's skin is flayed by a wright before he's passed into and then apart by the growing mob. His family is ushered away from the slaughter by their employee who'd been trying to prevent the cops from forcing them into a concentration camp when the father was beaten, which he clawed his attacker for resulting in his grisly death.
- Duane ripped an enemy wright's hands near off with a spell, then grabbed him by the hands and flung him towards Lemuel who killed him by spearing him on his sword.
- Eustace gets killed when the Order of Chinoll wrights spell his skin off.
- The young plat unit used by Vampire to start the khert fire had their chests explode, while the khert persevered their last moments of pain, shock and terror by turning their heads into stone columns, formed of a grisly sort of 3D zoetrope of their face's last movements before their deaths.
- The gleefully murderous battlewright Abby got her arms and legs chopped up and her head sliced in two by a pymaric trap.
- Glover gets forcibly crunched into the shape of a nearby urn when Keon uses its contour aspect to kill him. Ashley further explained what Keon cast in a tumbler Q&A post.
- Uaid is unmade by an allepakh, which blows off his limbs and causes a reaction in the khert that makes the khert reassess and break down the pieces of him.
- Chalmer has a pencil stabbed trough his cheeks, is slashed across his arm and thigh, is stabbed repeatedly in the face and eyes with Boo's short needle like legs and is finally finished off when Lori cuts his throat.
- Masek tries to offer aid to the Lions of Mercy in order to get them to leave his family alone, pointing out their common foe. While offering them information and the passcode into the hidden construct facility they respond by ripping open his torso and leaving him to die sayin they won't treat with the help and killing two of is nephews in front of him. Moments later Ricker grabs and starts shaking him demanding the information Masek had been freely offering. Masek uses his last words to curse him instead.
- Ricker ends up knocked off the roof at Litriya Shrine, with his legs badly broken and other injuries he tries to crawl away from the survivors of his attack and one of his legs is so badly injured it tears away from him to be left barely attached. Jivi starts slashing at him with a knife in retaliation for the deaths at the shrine and Emil stabs through his head at his remaining eye to finish him off.
- Tibby Palliard is pushed to the sea by her husband, and would have easily been able to swim to the nearby shore had she not been grabbed by water women who dragged her under and drowned her.
- Mason and the other Lions of Mercy plats find themselves the first targets of the new pods rising from the piles of burning corpses in Grenzlan. They are torn apart and partially eaten alive by burning corpses in various states of decomposition and the newly dead forms of their fellows who were forcing the locals to drag their dead to the piles. Despite the horrors their unit was responsible for keep in mind that all of the plats but Mason were forcibly conscripted children.
- Karl is tortured by Ruck, who rips him from his cell and starts tearing off his clothes and stabbing him while angrily ranting about why he is better than humans. Then Ruck "carves" his face, cutting it almost entirely off with several swipes and rapes him, all while Karl is locked into mage suppression cuffs with his arms twisted behind his back.
- Tesa Moli is painfully ripped limb from limb as she screams by ghosts just as she tells them that they can't hurt her since she's accepted her death and has a life well lived behind her.
Interior Emanations
- Duane killed Belarus via core leach when the plat bully assaulted him with a group of friends at school. His screams as he died, and how dishonorable a core leach is considered, made Duane near ill. Belarus was the first person Duane ever killed.
