TeenNick is a sister channel of Nickelodeon aimed at tweens and teenagers. Previously, the channel was known as The N, which was a former programming block on Noggin, and is a spin-off of Nickelodeon's defunct TEENick programming block.

The original TEENick block aired from 2001 to 2009 and was hosted by Nick Cannon (and later J Boogie) and was shown on Sunday nights from 6pm to 9pm EST, later becoming the Spiritual Successor of the SNICK block when TEENick Saturday Night took over SNICK's timeslot in 2004. It wasn't very different than SNICK, except the programming was a bit more girl-orientated with occasional promos with fashion tips and such (whereas TEENick Saturday Night was more boy-orientated). The original The N block aired every day from 6pm to 6am EST on Noggin from 2002 to 2007. It was known for its original shows, such as South of Nowhere and O'Grady, as well as being the American broadcaster of Degrassi: The Next Generation.

In 2007, both Noggin and The N split into their own 24-hour channels, with The N grabbing shows from TEENick to fill the daytime schedule while edgier shows aired during primetime. The N brand was discontinued in 2009, when the channel was renamed to TeenNick (Noggin would become Nick Jr.). Nick Cannon, the original host of the TEENick block, was the honorary chairman of the TeenNick channel as well as its programming consultant. He conceived and hosted the first annual TeenNick HALO Awards, an awards show awarding teens making a difference. TeenNick was also known for the NickRewind block (formerly The 90s Are All That and NickSplat/The Splat), a block showing Nickelodeon's 90s-00s output. NickRewind would air its final broadcast on January 31, 2022.

In 2015, the channel ended their broadcast of Degrassinote , along with all their original programming sans TeenNick Top 10, with the HALO Awards moving over to the main Nickelodeon channel. From that point and into The New '20s, TeenNick was mainly used for repeats of Nickelodeon's live-action shows from the Turn of the Millennium and on.

Also, it's "TeenNick" and not "Teennick," which is especially confusing since the original programming block was named TEENick. Even more confusing is that the TeenNick channel was originally announced as "TEENick" in March 2009, before changing the spelling sometime before its launch.
