Nicholas John Smith, (5 March 1934 — 6 December 2015), was a British actor best known for playing Mr. Rumbold in every episode of Are You Being Served?.

He started his career as a non-speaking extra in several ITV shows. His first speaking role came in Doctor Who in "The Dalek Invasion of Earth", with Smith having persuaded Richard Martin to expand his role so he appeared in three of the six episodes instead of only one or two.

In 2005, he had a supporting role in The Curse of the Were-Rabbit as Reverend Hedges, for which he was nominated for an Annie Award for Voice Acting in a Feature Production.
