Common Tropes in her work:
- Crossover: Tsujimura does a yearly thread on Twitter crossing over characters from all her various works for fun. She also announced a crossover short story to be published in Cobalt Magazine between The Case Files of Jeweler Richard and Unforgettable K.
- Language Equals Thought: Tsujimura spends a lot of time discussing the way some things can only be discussed and thought about in one language or another.
- Homoerotic Subtext: Tsujimura has written multiple male pairings as main characters, with heavy Ambiguously Bi or Ambiguously Gay interpretations.
- Platonic Life-Partners: Tsujimura's works tend to feature a lot of duo-pairings for main characters, who are usually not in an explicit relationship, although often they often contain romantic implications.
- The Power of Language: Tsujimura loves to use this one. Many of her characters are Omniglots.
- Shown Their Work: Tsujimura does a lot of research in advance, leading to Author Filibusters on things like the agriculture of Sri Lanka.
- That Came Out Wrong: Tsujimura seems to like characters who accidentally say things they don't understand the meaning of.
