Composite Character / Pokémon Crossing

Go To

Being a fanfiction that combines many continuities from two different franchises, it's no surprise that several characters would have other character traits combined:

The Main Protagonists

  • Holly takes several cues from the player character (kid from another region, taking on the Pokémon League, and has a personal stake in challenging the fifth gym leader). However she also takes on traits from Sapphire of Adventures: both are the battle-loving gym challengers of their group, use the Torchic line, Aron line and a male Kirlia that later evolves. They also have only one girl on their team (while Sapphire's only female Pokémon is her Blaziken, Holly's only female Pokémon is her Gyarados).

  • Kidd has character traits from the Anipoke girls. Like May, he wasn't interested much in Pokémon until he took on the idea of contests, and later catches a mischievous Skitty. Like Dawn, he uses the regional Water-type starter and an Electric-type rodent. Like Iris, he uses a small cute Dragon-type Pokémon that evolves throughout the series. Like Serena, he's from Kalos and doesn't know what to do in life. Just like May/Dawn/Serena, he loses hard in his first competition, but doesn't give up because of it.
    • He's also similar to Ruby of Adventures; has a team primarily of female Pokémon that each specialize in a contest skill, uses the Mudkip, Skitty and Feebas lines and is on the prissy side but learns to let himself get messed up every now and then.

  • Tank is a mix of rival!Brendan (wears a red short-sleeved shirt, uses the Treecko line and associated with the local professor), Goh (catches a lot of Pokémon while primarily using his starter, wears similar clothing and is the 'smart' one of the group) and Wally (fluffy green hair, ace Pokémon is associated with blades, moves between different towns in the Hoenn region, character arc involves him being more confident and standing up for himself).
    • Like Tracey Sketchit, he's a talented artist when it comes to drawing Pokémon.
    • Like Misty and Iris, he specializes in a specific Pokémon type, but has used Pokémon out of that type.

Professor Nook

While he's the direct counterpart to Professor Birch (living in Hoenn, rotund physique, researches Pokémon environments) he takes character traits from other professors:

  • Like Professor Kukui, he's a Happily Married nice guy who's expecting children soon, along with a fondness for dressing up (compare Kukui's "Royal Mask" persona to Nook's cosplay).
  • Like Professor Sycamore, he's knowledgable about Mega Evolution and has a Key Stone on hand.
  • Just like Professor Cerise, Nook is a reliable father figure who sends one of the main characters out on research quests.
    • However he does take a trait from Norman (one of the Hoenn gym leaders): Both are characters who moved from the Johto region to live in Littleroot Town. However, while Norman was from Olivine City, Nook is from Goldenrod City.

Villainous Teams

  • Judy Nebula (the Team Pastel leader) has the following: Shelly's fashion sense (the shoulder cutouts, heavy makeup, colorful hair), Archie's leadership skills and natural charisma (and calling her underlings 'simps'), while taking influence from Klara (wears purple and bright pastels, along with a distinct bow in her hair, but is ruthless and calculating).
  • Dobie takes traits from several villainous team leaders: while he's directly based on Maxie, he has an outdated aesthetic like Ghetsis and his ruthless nature.
  • Julian takes traits from several Hoenn characters: Like Juan, he's a flamboyant Water-type trainer who uses a Kingdra as his ace. Like Matt, he's a maniacally loyal admin to his team leader.

Misc. Characters

  • Don Hawkwind, while being the counterpart to Mr. Joseph Stone, is also a callous manipulator like Lusamine who funds a villainous team, seeing their respective leaders as nothing but pawns. He's also abusive to his children.
  • Frank Hawkwind takes more traits than other characters from the series:
    • Looker (an older ally to the protagonists, associated with Croagunk and went to Stark Mountain)
    • The Sinnoh player character: challenged the league and went to Stark Mountain afterwards.
    • Riley: owned a Lucario with ties to Iron Island.
    • Hop: someone related to the regional Champion, who is Always Someone Better to him.
    • Larry: Seemingly normal character that specializes in two different types (one of them being Flying) and a Signature Mon being a Fighting/Flying type (Flamigo for Larry, Hawlucha for Frank).
