I have a bone to pick with you.

"Ah, I was wondering when I was going to get one of these pages. It better be good..."
Debut: New Super Mario Bros.

Dry Bowser is a skeletal reptile. Originally starting out as just a skeletal version of Bowser, he later branched into his own being, and since has appeared in many fanfics, essentially carving out a name for himself. He's one of the more saner characters in Yoshizilla-Rhedosaurus' fan works.

Skeletal tropes associated with Dry Bowser:

  • Adaptational Badass: He's shown to do so much more in Yoshizilla-Rhedosaurus' tales than in his actual home franchise.
  • Adventure Duo: A very connected one with Toadette.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Toadette nicknames him DB.
  • Ascended Extra: Barely anyone wrote anything about him when he was new. But when Yoshizilla-Rhedosaurus used him, he suddenly got scores of fanfiction dedicated to him.
  • Badass Driver: He knows enough about vehicles to know how to drive any one of them in any situation.
  • Bad with the Bone: He frequently uses his own bones as weapons, including his own charcoal shell.
  • Ballistic Bone: Dry Bowser uses his own bones as projectiles.
  • Breakout Character: Before Yoshizilla-Rhedosaurus began written him, he didn't even have his own character tag for fanfiction. Now he's in well over a hundred fanfics themed after him.
  • Catchphrase: Korttork.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: Dry Bowser isn't exactly fond of being a jerk. He's more of a neutral character.
  • A Day in the Limelight: Plenty of Yoshizilla-Rhedosaurus' most known fanfiction are dedicated to Dry Bowser, one of which he shares with Toadette.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He's known to be quite sarcastic and low brow.
  • Dem Bones: He fits this very well, being that he's a bony reptilian.
  • Depending on the Writer: He either is willing to go on action packed adventures, or is more than happy to stay out of them. This is due to his neutral status.
  • Determinator: Even if he's disappointed by the predicament, he will be determined to finish any mundane task.
  • Dinosaurs Are Dragons: Dry Bowser is simply called a reptilian for this very predicament.
  • Dracolich: Dry Bowser is a giant, undead, fire-breathing, electricity zapping, toothy reptile.
  • Expansion Pack Past: He has many different backstories as to how he managed to become his own being. The most commonly shared trait is that he was formed from black magic and then sent back in time by Arceus.
  • Five-Man Band: Dry Bowser is part of the the Seaside Hillsters, which consists of him, Toadette, Petey Piranha, Silver The Hedgehog, and R.O.B.
  • Go-Karting with Bowser: A bit literally since he's visually the Stripped to the Bone version of Bowser.

  • Really 700 Years Old: He's older than everyone except Arceus, yet looks almost like his fleshy relative but without flesh.
  • Renaissance Man: Part of the reasons he has so many jobs under his skeletal shell.
  • Shock and Awe: Dry Bowser has electrical powers to replace his usage of fire, to help him stand out more from his fleshy relative.
  • The Talk Show with Host Name: Shares one with Toadette.
  • Those Two Guys: Whenever it comes to a cameo, he often does this with Toadette, Petey Piranha, Arceus, Gruntilda, and more.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: Occasionally with Toadette.
