Less So Bad, It's Good and more So Awful, It's Amazing, Hotel Mario is a masterpiece of unintentional comedy through bad writing and complete nonsense.
- "NICE AH' DA PRINCESS TO INVITE US OVAH FOR A PICK-NICK, GAY LUIGI?"
- "I HOPE SHE MADE LOTSA SPAGHETTI!" Seriously, without knowing any of the memes, you would be forgiven for thinking that it was a shitty porno in the first 4 seconds.
- "LOO-WEE-GEE, LOOK! IT'S FROM BOW-ZAH!"
- DEAR PESKY PLUMBERS; THE KOOPALINGS AND I HAVE TAKEN OVER THE MUSHROOM KINGDOM! THE PRINCESS IS NOW A PERMANENT GUEST IN ONE OF MY SEVEN KOOPA HOTELS! I DARE YA TO FIND HER IF YA CAN!
- "WE GOTTA FIND THE PRINCESS!" "AND YOU GOTTA HELP US!"
- And of course, the legendary:"If you need instructions on how to get through the hotels, check out the Enclosed Instruction Book."
(awkward freeze frame on Mario for about five seconds)
- "Haha, here's the problem, too many toasters! [CRACKLING ELECTRICITY] You Know What They Say... All toasters toast toast!"
- Even funnier is the context: The hotel in question is blacking out so much because of a roomful of toasters.
- Bowser's Sourpuss Bread. The fact that Mario apparently carries a product branded by his Arch-Enemy makes it even funnier.
- "It's hard to see through those clouds... I hope we can get rid of 'em! ... Get the hint?"
- "HEY YOU!! GIT OFFA MY CLOUD!!" Even better, that was improvised.(The Princess disappears for no particular reason)
Mario: "It's been one of those days...
COME ON LUIGI!!" - Unused tutorial audio has been found within the game. The man talking as Mario sounds immensely deadpan, bland, monotone."You can make me jump by pressing Button 1 down. Whee."
- The whole exchange in the opening cutscene to the cave hotel:Luigi: You bring a light?
Mario: NO.
Luigi: Well maybe a Koopa will lend us his!.. If we... persuade him!- Luigi of all people threatening violence and mugging.
- An intentional Funny Moment:Mario: Maybe this will stop that lizard king from playing with the doors!
- Peach keeps getting kidnapped at the end of of every hotel. Not exactly new for her, but it begins to border on hilariously bad luck, even by her standards. Notably, one hotel ends with her just standing on a pipe, then getting sucked down it with little to no effort. Another features her getting blasted into the air, and Mario getting ready to catch her...only to realize she landed in a hotel in the clouds.
