    Snowy Summit
First Appearance: The Weed

A historical figure with an inexplicable talent, the ability to nullify magic, which means that Twilight uses him to try and encourage Tarnish, who has a similarly bizarre and dangerous talent.

  • All of the Other Reindeer: Much like Tarnish years later, Snowy's bizarre talent in Anti-Magic made him a literal death field to all magical creatures. Because of this, no place would welcome him, and only Princess Celestia believed in him.
  • Anti-Magic: A walking no-magic field, this made him a Walking Wasteland to the magical creatures dominating Terra Prime.
  • Blessed with Suck: Born with a cutie mark depicting a nullwood tree, which can nullify and even kill anything magical. This makes living in any place involved with magic disastrous... unless you're stopping a villain who's dealing with dark magic.
  • Mutual Kill: On Grogar, the last time he attempted to come to power.
  • Never Found the Body: They never found his corpse. Given that the explosion created a desert, it's not much of a surprise.
  • Posthumous Character: Long dead by the time of the main stories.
  • Spanner in the Works: According to Twilight, his Anti-Magic talent wrecked havoc on the portal Grogar was trying to summon during the last time he came to power.

     Mellonella Moth
First Appearance: The Weed

A dark blue earth pony mare who Tarnish and Maud first encounter on their travels. She was a golem constructed by Princess Luna as part of learning Animancy, and apparently knew Flamingo from before she became a sentient sword.

  • Blue Is Heroic: As a golem created by Princess Luna, she shares traits with her "mother", including dark blue fur.
  • Chekhov's Gunman: The first of the golems encountered, and although her nature is not revealed until much later, the animancy underpinning them is important to the plot.
  • Golem: Constructed by Princess Luna.
  • Meaningful Name: "Mellonella" is a scientific term for the greater wax moth.

     Helianthus
First Appearance: The Weed

A mysterious earth pony mare, who bears a strong resemblance to Princess Celestia, and appears to be a close friend. Actually a golem created from Celestia's experiments in animancy.

     Tree Hugger
First Appearance: Venenum Iocus

The lovable Earth pony hippie from the show, and secretly a billionaire environmentalist who works with the Stiff-Upper-Lip Society.

  • Aura Vision: Acts like she has this, but may or may not be faking/hallucinating, as she occasionally says things that hint at things that no-one else knows yet.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: As Twilight Sparkle puts it:
Twilight: Tree Hugger is a little out there, but she’s smart, she has her father’s business savvy, and she has more bits than you can imagine.
  • Dreadlock Rasta: Has her mane styled like this, just like in the show.
  • Granola Girl: Fully fits this trope, but has the competence and resources to back up her ideals.
  • Like Is, Like, a Comma: Speaks this way, sometimes.
  • Meaningfulname: An environmentalist whose name is "Tree Hugger".
  • Obfuscating Stupidity: Far, far more on the ball than she appears, and when she needs to be, is very, very good at her job.
  • The Team Benefactor: Ends up funding Tarnish and Maud's work in Venenum Iocus.
  • Uncle Pennybags: One of the Society's sponsors, and generally friendly and kind.
  • You Remind Me of X: Tarnish uncomfortably and privately notes that Tree Hugger speaks and acts like his Jerkass of a father, which left him unable to trust her at first.

     Maledico Iocus
A centaur who attempted to circumvent the end of civilisation and rebuild in the aftermath. Things didn't exactly go according to plan.

     Fox Populi
A recurring member of Lucerna Perpetuum.
  • Hidden Depths: Appears to be little more than a shameless flirt and layabout, but is high up in Lucerna Perpetuum for a reason.
  • Magic Knight
  • Undying Loyalty: His devotion is annoying to Celestia, but means he can be utterly trusted.

     Minori
An aged Diamond Dog that is rescued from slavery in Venenum Iocus, and takes over leadership of the tribe.

     Radiant Hope and her Shadow
A mysterious (to the characters) crystal pony healer and her bodyguard. The Shadow is actually King Sombra, reformed, and Radiant Hope is the mare who never gave up on him.
  • The Atoner: Radiant Hope is this, as she is responsible for The Nameless One's death. She used a tainted artifact to access the Nameless One's realm and began her slow death. Sombra is also seeking atonement for his crimes against the Crystal Empire.
  • Complete Immortality: Apparently. Lima Bean will not accept Radiant Hope until she has atoned for their crimesnote , and Sombra won't leave her.
  • Cursed with Awesome: While their immortality is definitely a curse, it has its upsides.
  • Healing Hands: Radiant Hope has this power.
  • In the Hood: They both wear hooded cloaks.
  • Walking the Earth: Part of Lima Bean's curse on them.
  • Who Wants to Live Forever?: Radiant Hope's curse does not grant her an immortal's perspective of time, making her brutally aware of its passing.

    Stinkberry Coffyn
Blackbird's father, he helped Starling redeem herself. His murder spurs something of a relapse.

    Furious Funnel
A retired tornado-wrangler who wants to settle down.
  • Affectionate Nickname: Gets referred to as "Mister Mustache" by Crop Duster.
  • Child by Rape: It's implied he's the result of this. Certainly his relationship with his father is completely non-existent and the circumstances of his conception are tied to thoughts about "threats within the herd".
  • Cowboy: Although not strictly a cowboy in the sense of being a cattle rancher, he carries over a lot of the traits of the "Working Cowboy" subtype, even if he does retire during his first appearance.
  • Disappeared Dad: Doesn't know who is father is beyond "a pegasus in the Guard".
  • Dented Iron: Tornado fighting for years leaves its mark.
  • Eyepatch of Power: Due to losing an eye in his youth.
  • Famed In-Story: His dangerous and glamorous career, as well as his success at it, has earned him some fame, including several books and a successful film.
  • Love at First Sight: Falls deeply in love with Crop Duster on first sight.
  • Military Brat: His mother is a Guard "lifer".
  • Red Baron: "The Pinto Pummeler"
  • Retired Badass

    Crop Duster
A mare who takes part in Cadance's blindfold weddings and ends up married to Furious Funnel.
  • Big Eater: Like her husband.
  • Deconstructed Trope: A Gasshole is funny, even if in a crude way, right? Actually, her IBS has seriously messed with her life, from school onwards. She's actually forbidden from working indoors.
  • Gasshole: She's very nice, but she suffers from IBSnote , meaning that she's extremely gassy much of the time.
  • I Can't Dance: She's never really had the opportunity to learn due to her IBS preventing her from attending social events that involve dancing, so struggles with it.
  • Likes Older Men: She specifically requested an older stallion during the blindfold weddings, wanting someone mature.
  • The Teetotaler: Downplayed, but she's initially extremely reluctant to drink alcohol due to Scare 'Em Straight tactics by her parents.

     Moon Rose
First Appearance: A Darkness Softly Creeping

Moon Rose is a filly with the power to make her dreams into reality, making her of interest to Princess Luna and Grogar.

  • Parental Abandonment: Her birth parents gave her up for adoption because her strong innate magic over dreams frightened them. This gave her abandonment issues.
  • Power Incontinence: Her inability to control her powers cause the events A Darkness Softly Creeping.
  • Reality Warper: She has the ability to make her dreams real when at her worst, which made her a pony of interest for both Princess Luna and Grogar.
  • Your Soul Is Mine!: Has a portion of her soul stolen by Grogar's minions.

     Aunt Nancy
The Equestrian version of Anansi, a Giant Spider who protects all good foals.

    Dread Drop and Owleye
Two Wardens who show up periodically, they help Flicker with the Spider Hag in The Mask Makes The Pony and assist Yam and Azure in Together, They Fight Crime.

    Warden Hammerhelm
A higher-ranking Warden, she's Owleye and Dread Drop's superior during They Fight Crime

     Olive
A bully attending Princess Twilight Sparkle's school and who picks on Sumac and Pebble. She gets better, and becomes good friends with Sumac and his friends, and ends up joining the Immortal Solars.
  • The Bully: Acted like this towards everyone at first, including her parents. She later grew out of it
  • Celibate Hero: After joining the Guard.
  • Character Development: She goes from a school bully who uses her powerful magic to bully others, even her own parents, to a much better pony after being taken in by Starlight Glimmer.
  • Heel–Face Turn: After being seen to by Starlight Glimmer, she gets a lot better.
  • Married to the Job: Expected and enforced for the Immortal Solars, much to Sumac and Pebble's sadness and displeasure.
  • Praetorian Guard: She joins the Immortal Solars, Celestia's personal elite guard.

    Major Gloaming Gardenia
First Appearance: Nom's Mom Bomb

Nomination's mother, she's not exactly approving of his life choices, or at least, that's what he thinks. Nom's Mom Bomb reveals his viewpoint is not entirely accurate.

  • Eyepatch of Power: It's a metal plate screwed into place.
  • Fantasy-Forbidding Mother: Her insistence that Nomination meet her expectations has left him with some fairly major issues. Ultimately a Subversion, first hinted at by the information she risked her own career so that he could chase his dreams, it eventually comes out that she always wanted him to achieve his dreams, but that there were so many unknowns that she felt she had to make sure he wouldn't be crushed if it proved impossible.
  • Mind over Manners: Casually breaks into Chartreuse' mind to both study her and deal with a little fear, without warning or permission.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: Turns out to be one.
  • We Can Rebuild Him: Hinted at by a throwaway line.
