The Badger Baddie

A European badger procurer in Tundratown who is hired by the Basilisk to redistribute stolen reptiles and eggs.

  • Ain't Too Proud to Beg: He's very quick to drop his smug act to beg for mercy from Mr. Big.
  • Bad Boss: His godawful treatment of Shaky certainly makes him fall under this category.
  • Bad Ol' Badger: A badger procurer and mammal trafficker who gets in the reptile smuggling business, and is generally unpleasant, to begin with.
  • Cane Fu: Tries in vain to attack Mr. Big with his cane when he orders his icing.
  • Dirty Old Man: Played for Horror. He makes wince-inducing jokes about his soon-to-be workers, and it's pointed out by Mr. Big that he forced smaller mammals to work with larger clients who weren't their species, and that this caused them severe trauma and mutilation.
  • Evil Cripple: He is blind and has shattered vocal cords which render his voice naught but an atonal raspy growl.
  • Evil Old Folks: He's past sixty and rotten to the core.
  • Evil Sounds Raspy: He is said to have a voice reduced to an atonal growl.
  • Fat Bastard: Not only is he absolutely disgusting, but also obese.
  • Faux Affably Evil: He is definitely capable of putting on a false front of charm and good nature when around those he's displeased by, but this barely hides what a monster he is.
  • Grumpy Old Man: As shown in his dealing with Shaky, and during his demise, Frankie has a Hair-Trigger Temper and doesn't like being spoken of in a disapproving manner.
  • Jerkass: He puts his workers (schoolgirls, among others) through unspeakable torture by handing them over to larger-bodied clients so that they can earn more money, effectively making them sex slaves. To add salt to the wound, he viciously abuses his assistant Shaky, and mocks his speech impediment.
  • Karmic Death: Killed by the very crime lord whom he wanted to avoid: Mr. Big.
  • Not-So-Badass Longcoat: As seen here, he's seen wearing a shoddy trenchcoat.
  • Sinister Shades: His blind glasses give off this impression.
  • Smug Snake: He is certainly overwhelmingly arrogant and prideful, even in the face of impending death.
  • Too Dumb to Live: Frankie goes completely off his rocker when Mr. Big admonishes him before having him iced. Instead of calming down, he yells at him, and when his doom is inevitable, he begins to flail his cane around, trying to hit him. Suffice to say, he didn't help his case at all.

    John "Shaky" McAcorns

A grey squirrel who initially serves as Frankie Melone's guide, before being hired by Mr. Big.

  • Affably Evil: Even under Frankie, he's completely polite and respectful to anyone he comes into contact with.
  • Beleaguered Assistant: He's beaten and verbally abused by his master, Frankie Melone. Inverted when he goes under the wing of Mr. Big.
  • Cassandra Truth: His warnings about Mr. Big's possible retaliation for Frankie refusing to pay his debt turn out to be more than warranted.
  • Meaningful Name: Nickname, anyway; he owes it to his stuttering.
  • Ridiculously Cute Critter: He may be in the service of villains, but he is a squirrel, and squirrels are adorable.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: He hits the road as soon as things get violent during the sting. When you remember that he's in service to Mr. Big, it all adds up.
  • Speech Impediment: Shaky has a severe stutter, and it proves to make things a whole lot more awkward during communication.
  • Stutter Stop: Apparently, grabbing Shaky's tail unbeknownst to him stops his stuttering, because it startles him.

    Michael Perro de Monte

A Basilisk member and coyote tasked with obtaining reptiles at Clark Halibuts.

    Robert Nero

A black bear in the Basilisk crew tasked with obtaining reptiles at Clark Halibuts.

  • Always a Bigger Fish: He's arm-locked and defeated by a much larger and more powerful Ivar.
  • Bears Are Bad News: The only outright antagonistic ursine character in the story thus far.
  • Big Eater: Orders a 10-meat platter (granted, not only for himself) upon arriving to Clark Halibuts.
  • Big Guy, Little Guy: He's the Big Guy, being a large black bear.
  • Dark Is Evil: He's described as being shoddily dressed and is a black bear.
  • Dumb Muscle: He doesn't seem to be very bright, especially concerning keeping his mouth shut.
  • Not-So-Badass Longcoat: Like Michael, he's described as wearing a "haggard coat".
  • Smug Snake: He's more overtly stupid than other examples of this trope, but he doesn't realize he's way in over his head when dealing with the ZPD.
