    Cleo Volpez

A ZBS costume designer and Nick's girlfriend. She proves to be very helpful during the first portion of the investigation.

  • The Ace: She excels at her job, and her ZBS employment is testimony.
  • Cuddle Bug: She is very physically (and verbally) affectionate.
  • Cunning Like a Fox: Her solutions to disguising the reptile team definitely lend themselves to this trope: she uses scent masks as well as contact lenses, latex and fur to properly disguise the team.
  • Fiery Redhead: She has quite the temper, and is a red fox just like Nick.
  • Glurge Addict: Good Lord, is she ever? Some of the nicknames she gives and receives warmly from Nick take schmaltz to a whole new level.
  • Master of Disguise: She is a costume designer by trade, and working on film and television has really lent itself well to her helping out Nick and his crew for the Clark Halibuts sting.
  • Nice Girl: She is generally wholesome and kind-hearted, albeit finicky and perfectionistic.
  • The Perfectionist: She is very serious about the work she does, and strives to do it in the best possible way, sometimes to the expense of time.

    Gerard & Veronica Rabberts

Milo's parents - Gerard is Milo's biological father and an actor by trade, whereas Veronica is Milo's adoptive mother.

  • Abusive Parents: Inverted; even though Gerard was pretty riled up about Milo's lack of confidence and responsibility, Milo took advantage of their trust in him and further disappointed them by unrealistically claiming that there's nothing he can do to get promoted.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Gerard often makes snide quips about foolish things and people.
  • Good Parents: They're generally very wholesome bunnies and want their son to be the best man he can be.
  • Happily Married: They've been together for a long time, and they seem to love every second of it.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Gerard; for all his abrasive behavior towards Milo in their first phone call, his heart is very much in the right place. He sincerely apologizes for making Milo think he and Veronica wanted to extort money from him so they can get the house back, and acknowledged that it's wrong for any parent to depend on their child. To boot, he is overwhelmed with pride and joy when Milo brings out the news that he's finally taken the steps towards living up to his full potential.
  • Nice Girl: Veronica seems to be more mild-mannered and polite than Gerard, and is just as wholesome.
  • Parents as People: Seeing how Milo isn't willing to change his attitude about his job, both Gerard and Veronica have a difficult time talking to him. On the flip side, they've grown insecure about their own lines of work, being evicted from their family home and forced to live in a hostel.
  • The Pollyanna: Veronica has nothing but words of encouragement for Milo when she hears the good news, believing fully in his capability.
  • Tsundere: Gerard is a rare male example; he'll chew you out and curse your name to no tomorrow one day, then come back with an apology the next, provided that he did something wrong.

    Mr. Big

The shrewd crime boss

A notorious mob boss in Tundratown who provides Judy and Nick with help in their investigation.

  • Affably Evil: Mr. Big is impeccably polite to his subordinates and adversaries, even when they've let him down. This counts doubly for those who are close friends to his family.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: There's not a shred of doubt that Mr. Big is a dangerous mammal whom you don't want to cross, but even he is utterly appalled by Frankie Melone.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: Downplayed in that he was treated as a very serious and dangerous crime lord in the film; it's only now that we really get to see how dangerous he can get when he has Frankie Melone iced for both not paying up his debt and because he's a revolting scumbag.
  • Pay Evil unto Evil: He has Frankie Melone, an interspecies sex trafficker, iced because of not only his deplorable behavior, but also because he cheated out of paying his debt to him. In Big's point of view, he's ridding the city of a lot of filth.
  • Villain of Another Story: His mobbing activities are, like in the film, glossed over in this fanfic. However, we do get to see what happens when you refuse to pay up your debt.

    Fru Fru

His daughter

Daughter of Mr. Big.

  • Affably Evil: She's even more polite than her father, due to being a giggly, fun-loving person.
  • Good Parents: She seems to be shaping up to become a highly invested mother.
  • Good Samaritan: She offers Judy some homemade lunch when she visits for information.
  • Nice Girl: She's as polite and gracious as she ever was.

    The polar bears

The polar protectors

The henchmen of Mr. Big, of which Koslov, Raymond and Kevin are named.

  • Bears Are Bad News: If you happen to be on their bad side.
  • Beary Friendly: Provided you're on their good side, they can be very accommodating.
  • Beary Funny: Raymond and Kevin are shown as having quite the sense of humor, as evidenced by their teasing of Shaky.
  • The Comically Serious: Koslov can sometimes be this, as evidenced here:
    "What about... broken squirrel?"
  • Creepy Monotone: Koslov rarely emotes with his voice, often speaking with a flat, cold tone.
  • Evil Sounds Deep: Koslov and Raymond, namely.
  • Giant Mook: Koslov, again, since he towers over the other bears.
  • Sharp-Dressed Man: Plenty of them are dressed in fine suits.

    Ivar Obdenberg

A walrus denizen of Tundratown, originally from When Instinct Falls, who happens to be a regular guest at Clark Halibuts.

  • Badass Longcoat: Is described as wearing a naval trenchcoat and is quite the wrestler.
  • Big Fun: A corpulent, hefty pinniped who is jovial and fun-loving at the same time.
  • Bystander Syndrome: Inverted; when he sees Jimmy in danger, he immediately rushes to his aid and subdues the attacking bear.
  • The Cameo: He makes a brief appearance in the 8th and 9th chapters of this story, hailing originally from When Instinct Falls.
  • Gratuitous Russian: He occasionally drops a few "tovarisch"-es here and there.
  • Large Ham: He is quite boisterous and loud, so it's never hard to see him coming.
  • Nice Guy: Ivar is polite and friendly enough to help Jimmy up and dust him down when he falls.
  • Third-Person Person: Often addresses himself this way.
  • Transplant: Originally from When Instinct Falls.
  • Warm-Hearted Walrus: A jovial and good-natured member of the species, to be sure.
  • Wrestler in All of Us: He's a competitive wrestler by trade in his original fanfic, and he puts his skill to good use when putting Robert Nero in a hammerlock.

    Wallace Beanie

One of the chief wardens of the Steve Ermine Zoological Research Center and Milo's guide during his recording session. Known for an eccentric personality.

  • Awesome Aussie: An easy-going but still temperamental wallaby with a roundabout way of dealing with sound effects recordists; the awesome part comes from dealing with deadly wild animals.
  • The Bogan: Crass, loud-mouthed and Australian, he fits this trope to a tee.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He often makes sarcastic asides about Milo and his work.
  • The Gadfly: Downplayed. He really enjoys needling sound effects recordists whenever they don't have a critical recording take on their hands.
  • Plucky Comic Relief: Normally, when Wallace is on screen, expect him to do something for his own fun to Milo.
  • Shout-Out: He's a subtle one to Wallace the Wallabeanie of Born to Be Wilde.
  • Stealth Pun: Read the previous trope and you'll understand why.
  • Troll: He really enjoys putting Milo through all kinds of shenanigans in order to test the rabbit's patience.
