Main Characters

    Kimihiko Kimizuka
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/01_b.png
Voiced by: Shin Nagai (Japanese), Austin Tindle (English)

  • Alliterative Name: Kimihiko Kimizuka. This is also where his nickname "Kimi" came from.
  • Born Unlucky: Kimihiko is usually caught up in dangerous or bizarre scenarios. It was a quality that attracted Siesta to him in the first place.
  • Covert Pervert: He claims to not be thinking about living with Siesta, and later staring at Nagisa's collarbone instead of her breasts. But Siesta points out it takes him a moment to deny those things, and Nagisa gets grossed out by his comment, preferring that he actually did just say he was looking at her boobs.
  • Experienced Protagonist: Kimihiko started out as Siesta's assistant, being The Watson. He later takes on private cases on his own after Nagisa meets him.
  • Doom Magnet: The authorities noted how he's involved in a lot of troubles in the city.
  • Hypercompetent Sidekick: Due to being trained by Siesta for three years, Kimihiko has the legit skills that make him the real detective despite Nagisa's insistence that he's the "assistant".
  • In-Series Nickname: Siesta calls him "Kimi", since both his names start with that. He gets a bit offended since it sounds like she's just calling him "Hey, You!".
  • Lethal Chef: When he tries to make curry, the carrots are still so hard that in episode 8 of the anime, Siesta and later Alicia are heard crunching them.
  • Younger Than They Look: Despite being in high school, his appearance can be passed as a young adult in his twenties.

    Siesta

Voiced by: Saki Miyashita (Japanese), Xanthe Huynh (English)

  • Awesomeness by Analysis: She is able to guess Bat's motive for hijacking the plane, and goes into further detail as to why he did it. Later, she figures out that the students disappearing from Kimihiko's school were due to drugs, some of which were given to them by the crime organization she was pursuing.
  • Berserk Button: Take Kimihiko away and she'll bring out a mecha to wipe everything in her path to get him back.
  • Big Eater: By her own admission, her three basic human cravings are somewhat stronger than ordinary people's.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: Though it's subtle, there are signs that she doesn't like how close Alicia is getting to Kimihiko. In one instance, when Alicia asks him to put a ring on her finger as if they were getting married, Siesta walks up on them. She immediately has a disgusted look on her face, wishes them happiness while walking away, and is seen pouting in bed later that night. When Alicia excitedly mentioned Kimihiko being her sidekick, Siesta weakly says that he's her sidekick.
  • Crazy-Prepared: To ridiculous levels.
  • Experienced Protagonist: Siesta's an experienced private eye before she even recruited Kimihiko. She's sometimes known as "Sherlock".
  • Expy: She bears a close resemblance to Origami Tobiichi, right down to the bright blue eyes and even the location of her hairclips.
  • Hidden Buxom: She's surprisingly busty but her clothes just make it looks like she doesn't have any.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Pulls one to save Kimizuka. Although it's later Subverted as she had planned her death from the start, knowing it was hard for her to stand a chance against both Hel and the monster the latter created.
  • Mystical White Hair: Siesta sports beautiful, snowy white hair.
  • Posthumous Character: Siesta's long gone before the actual story begins.
  • Pretty Freeloader: To Kimihiko's dismay, Siesta knows how to make herself at home at his place, even if most of the time she had to break in and enter.
  • Sherlock Scan: Her powers of investigation are so great, she's usually solved the case before it's even happened.

    Nagisa Natsunagi
https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/03_b.png
Voiced by: Ayana Taketatsu (Japanese), Arryn Zech (English)

  • Alliterative Name: Nagisa Natsunagi.
  • Compelling Voice: Her ability to quickly read the mood and notice changes of behaviour is said to be much better than Kimizuka, with her being able to snap Kimizuka out of his Heroic BSoD, realizing Yui's inner struggles, and even able to make Siesta let her guard down and convince her to take over her body for a short time.
  • Desperately Looking for a Purpose in Life: She used to have a heart condition, and as she spent so much time going in and out of the hospital, she didn't have the time to even think of what she would do after being healthy again. This makes her Jumped at the Call in every opportunity possible, even if it risks her own life.
  • Eager Rookie: She is ready to continue where Siesta left off but the problem is that she lacks the detective skills and experience of the former and is pretty naive.
  • Foil: To Siesta. Siesta has short white hair and blue eyes while Nagisa has long black hair and red eyes. While Siesta is cool and calm, Nagisa is more open with her emotions.
  • Identical Stranger: She looks like Hel with longer hair. It's because they share the same body, Natsunagi is a new identity created to replace Hel after the latter's Death of Personality.
  • Literal Change of Heart: She received a heart transplant a year earlier when she first meets Kimihiko and demands he help her with this sudden urge/feeling to meet someone she didn't know. When he initially denies it, she immediately pulls up several articles where he was in the news and solved a bunch of mysteries. It turns out that the person she wanted to meet was Kimihiko himself, as she received Siesta's heart after the latter died a year earlier. Siesta's heart subconsciously influenced Nagisa's desires to meet Kimihiko again.
  • Shameless Fanservice Girl: Nagisa certainly likes being up close and personal with Kimihiko. One of her first actions towards him after putting her hand in his mouth was to subject him to a Marshmallow Hell. Although, Siesta and Alicia might be influencing her actions.
  • Tsundere: Type B with Kimizuka, although she doesn't display any hostile behaviour, only occasional mild Flowery Insults and Luminescent Blush.
