Go To

In the SporeWiki Fiction Universe, Borealis was a contrast to other galaxies. While others were either having the Dawn of an Era, were being subjects to The Singularity or were only recently fooled by a New Era Speech, Borealis was stuck in the past, being plagued by Space Pirates, The Legions of Hell and cybernetic Soulless Shells, and the natives were too much of Absolute Xenophobes to work together to fix these problems. However, this slowly changed with time, and now Borealis is one of the most prosperous galaxies in the Gigaquadrant.

Penumbran Vekaron Zankho

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vekaron_4183.png
“While I live, I'll make sure the Zoles Imperium stands strong!”

Formerly one of the highest ranking military leaders of the Zoles Imperium, Vekaron was The Hero during the Second Borealis Galactic War. He currently serves under the Penumbra Unit.

  • Badass Normal: He has faced super soldiers, eldritch monsters and gods with nothing but skill and his blade.
  • Berserk Button: He gets extremely angry at just having Torrent on his sight.
    • As shown during the Ice Age, badmouthing King Rebaris (especially after his death) sends Vekaron in a rage, enough to him to make hasty and irrational decisions.
  • Cultured Warrior: Vekaron fights to make the galaxy a better place to live.
  • A Father to His Men: Pretty much all Zoles see Vekaron as a role model.
  • Freudian Excuse: An heroic example, he became a soldier because Torrent murdered his family and destroyed his home colony.

Kraknor Wragrot

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/wragrot_1326.png
“A bullet to the head usually ends most discussions. Or it starts new ones.”

One of the last surviving members of the Battlemaster Strain of the Murgur, Wragrot is an old, battle-hardened bounty hunter with an unknown past. Since joining Vekaron, he grew fond to him and the rest of the team. He was later revealed to be a former leader of the Kraknor Warband of the Murgur, who was overthrown by Warmaster Tismahgo.

  • A Day in the Limelight: Wragrot went from crewmember to being the main protagonist of his own arc in the Ice Age, the Murgur Civil War.
  • A Father to His Men: As shown in the Ice Age, Wragrot is seen as one of the greatest Murgur of all by the rest of his race. They joined forces with him to get rid of Warmaster Tismahgo and even accepted him as their leader simply because of how much they respect him.
  • The Emperor: After unifying the Murgur race, Wragrot became the emperor of the Empire of the Murgur. However, unlike the Warbands who came before him, he doesn't seek for conquest and is instead a Reasonable Authority Figure.
  • Mighty Glacier: Has trouble keeping up with fast targets, but packs a tremendous punch.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: The nicest Murgur in fiction. It's especially notable because he comes from the Blood Knight Kraknor Warband.
  • Old Soldier: By far the oldest member of Vekaron's team, and possibly the most powerful.
  • Proud Warrior Race Guy: Despite being wise, he's quick to provoke.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Over 1300 years old, one of the oldest Murgur in recorded history.
  • Shotguns Are Just Better: His weapon of choice is a Murgur Shotgun.

Kilchárunya Toázensa

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kilcharunya_401.png
“I've got 137 methods of killing. Choose one.”

A Kicath bounty hunter not affiliated with any Kicath faction, Kilchárunya joined Vekaron after her, him and Wragrot worked together to take down a Zí-Jittorám.

  • Blood Knight: Of the whole team, she's the most likely to attack without asking first.
  • Foil: To Kamaris, being a tough, aggressive, abrasive female to his tough, calm, collected male.
  • Mysterious Past: There's something between her and Agent Nu.
  • Weaponized Teleportation: Her equipment includes a teleporter which she can use to quickly change positions.

Vyatak

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vyatak_9541.png
“Will I die? Craftier than I look, mister.”

A Samilinus biologist, artificial intelligence scientist and a weapons developer. At first taken by Billig to build the Zaarkhun AI for him, he was later saved by Vekaron and now serves as the main doctor of his ship.

Vansenk K'nok Sa'r Rel'Giga

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vansenk_5668.png
“Crying will not save you. Crying makes me want to hurt you more.”

Vansenk was a insurrectionist Hserelie who openly opposed his race's religious ideals and worship of the Corruptus and was renowned for his abilities regarding stealth, infiltration and assassination.

  • Big Damn Heroes: Stepped up to save Vekaron, Wragrot and Kilchárunya from other Hserelie when he met them.
    • And he later did it again during Year 7, stepping up to save Gardin from Chahenthras.
    • And then he did it again during his Heroic Sacrifice, saving the team from Brakarion Gragon.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Shoved himself inside Brakarion Gragon's throat to choke him from the inside, causing him to fall to his death.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Implied to be his real goal. By the time of his death, he succeeded.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: He doesn't worship demons, he fights them.
  • Nanomachines: He could use nanomachines to heavily damage enemies, often in overly gruesome ways. These nanomachines were later revealed to be re-purposed medical tools.
  • Signature Scent: A terrible smell. He had not bathed in 30 years.

Natyrazhakamaris Anthorsovaylato a.k.a. Kamaris Vorava

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kamaris_183.png
“I do not kill because I enjoy it. I kill because you disturb the natural peace.”

Kamaris Vorava is a Mahanayan Colossus Warrior, whose heavy weaponry abilities make him the powerhouse of Vekaron's crew.

  • BFG: His weapon of choice is an anti-armor cannon in a rifle format, a weapon capable of heavily injuring other Mahanayan Colossi.
  • Foil: To Kilchárunya, being a tough, calm, collected male to her tough, aggressive, abrasive female.
  • Handicapped Badass: Kamaris lost his eyes during a fight with a Zí-Jittorám. However, he has shown the ability of being able to feel the world even without eyes, and that did not stop him from fighting at all.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: You can't find any Mahanayan who acts as nice as him.
  • Proud Warrior Race Guy: Subverted. While the Mahanayan are known for being war-like, Kamaris prefers to end coflicts peacefully.
  • Super-Soldier: He's pretty much the Mahanayan equivalent of a Kicathian Agent.

Kirlisir

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kirlisir_502.png
“Stop worrying about the consequences and live in the now, you'll only distract yourself if you focus on the doom and gloom.”

Kirlisir, widely identified and known as the Dancer Discordant, is a Rovegar rogue who openly opposes the authority, structure and government of the Rovegar Matriarchy, as she accuses the organization as being "corrupt from the inside" for unknown reasons.

  • BFS: Her Witch Gauntlets. Notably, she uses 4 blades, when the normal quantity is 2.
  • Expy: She was designed to look like a Shiny Gardevoir.
  • The Klutz: Quite clumsy. When she first met Vekaron, she attempted to intimidate him and his crew, but only to trip and nearly fall over.
  • Lightning Bruiser: She is very fast and has shown to be strong enough to fight toe-to-toe against Wragrot.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Like all Rovegar, she can shriek extremely loud.
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: Unlike other Rovegar, she doesn't have a rampant carnal desire. This is mostly because she's afraid of losing control over her powers and killing her mate in the act.

Gardin

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/gardin_2561.png
“I don't have to defend myself. I got Daddy and Uncle Wragrot and Auntie Kilch and Uncle Kamaris.”

Gardin is a Rovegar child who had her family killed by Torrent. She was adopted by Vekaron and has become a permanent member of his team, currently training to become a warrior herself, though she isn't especially worried about it.

  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Gardin has shown to be extremely crafty, enough to get her teacher Kirlisir off guard more than once. However, she only does it when the situation really calls for it.
  • Does Not Know His Own Strength: Gardin still has little control of her immense elemental power, so she occasionally causes large amounts of damage.
  • Eye Scream: Torrent stabbed his fingers through her right eye on her first appearance. She was healed, but the eye lost its former red colouration and became white.
  • Hiding Behind Your Bangs: Her hair covers her right eye at all times and she is shy and demure.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Like all Rovegar, she can shriek extremely loud. However, she is noted to shriek even louder than other Rovegar.

    Tetra and his crew

Penumbran Tetra Terya

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/tetraterya_9740.png
“We'll keep fighting. We'll always keep fighting. Down to our last breaths, we will always be up in arms against our enemies, because we're not fighting for ourselves. We're fighting for others. For a cause.”

The first and only Krektal member of the Penumbra Unit, Tetra is a modest warrior who at first had difficulties getting used to his duties until various events caused him to toughen up into one of the Penumbra Unit's best soldiers. He's notable for being the first modern alien to oppose the Zarkhator.

  • Artificial Limbs: Both of Tetra's arms were replaced with cybernetic implants after he lost them in a battle with Nirta Nenra.
  • Badass Adorable: Even after toughening up, he can still be a very sweet-natured person. It helps that he's a Krektal.
  • Badass Normal: Tetra has fought giant supersoldiers and highly-advanced aliens while possessing nothing but comparably mundane equipment and skill.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Tetra is a polite, friendly man who prefers diplomacy over combat. However, provoke him enough...
  • Character Development: Son of Gotla introduced him as a shy, timid, fearful person who was reluctant to fight and could lose himself to his anger. However, by the end, he matured out of it and became a courageous, determinated warrior not afraid to face enemies far bigger than him in combat.
  • Expy: His jetpacks work much like Three Dimensional Maneuver Gears.
  • No-Holds-Barred Beatdown: Delivered one to Nirta Nenra during the latter's introduction, nearly killing him in the process.
  • Rousing Speech: Near the end of Son of Gotla.
Tetra: "Team! We've come a long way from being just a ragtag group of lost causes; we're all in this together now, fighting to protect the people and worlds that we care about. We're fighting for freedom and security. We're fighting for the lives of every man, woman, and child across not only Hyperborea, but the entire PCA! And if we fail, then we've failed doing something that many would find it difficult to do!"
  • Took a Level in Badass: Went from a stuttering, shy mess of a person into someone who faces two supersoldier at once by himself and wins.
  • Unstoppable Rage: Soltako used to make Tetra go on blood-curled frenzies. He grew out of this for the most part.

Vesinash

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/vesinash_712.png
“It's in my job to be a good sniper and to be "courageous". My career depends on it. If I wasn't a good sniper or 'brave', I would either be dead or out of a job.”

A former assassin who served under Emperor Rothneld Vhezari during the times of the Seagon Empire, Vesinash was Tetra's first associate and crewmate. Trained with a sniper rifle, she serves as the long-range fighter of the Krektal's team.

Traslia Larengyael

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/traslia_1451.png
“We'll stop you! R-right, guys?”

A young Rovegar scientist who studied ancient artifacts of Kormacvar origin, Traslia met Tetra's team after she was saved by him when her expedition was destroyed in a Zarkhator. At first struggling heavily to keep up with the team's aggressive life, Traslia eventually a soldier of her own right.

  • Heroic BSoD: Her initial reaction to Tetra's hatred toward Soltako Armed Military. As he was literally the first aliens she ever met on her life, she still could not fully understand how his emotions worked, making her believe he was a bloodthirsty berserker. They got better, though.
  • The Heart: The member of Tetra's team who cares about others' emotions the most, not including Tetra himself.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: Like all Rovegar, she can shriek extremely loud. Both her enemies and Tetra's team know how loud she can get.
  • Mind over Matter: Her fighting style is mostly about throwing objects at enemies, or throwing enemies at enemies.
  • Scars Are Forever: Traslia was left with an enormous scar over her torso after being attacked and nearly killed by Zaharalei of the Zarkhator.
  • Telepathy: Part of her psychic abilities, Traslia used her telepathy to understand how Tetra's mind worked and also to read through his memories, allowing her to learn about Zarkhator.

Lirtelta

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/lirtelta_4245.png
“Give me a purpose. Give me things to kill.”

Lirtelta is an artificial Levarcor warrior who was created by Soltako Armed Military scientists in an attempt to recreate Project Titan, the science project which created Brakarion Gragon. Before she was properly "born", though, she was taken by Tetra and added to his team, where she became their main powerhouse.

  • Big Eater: Often seen eating huge slabs of meat when off-duty.
  • Blood Knight: Lirtelta was created as a weapon, and seems to fully embrace that aspect of her personality. She loves fighting and killing things, and quickly grows bored if not doing either of these.
  • Born as an Adult: Lirtelta was born as a young adult Levarcor, though her mentality is not completed matured.
  • Genius Bruiser: Right after she was removed from her vat tank, Lirtelta surprised Tetra and Traslia by how eloquent and knowledgeable she can be about war.
  • Laser-Guided Tyke-Bomb: She was created to be this. And then she was used against her creators thanks to Tetra's intervention.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Just because she's big doesn't mean Lirtelta is slow. And she hits hard.
  • Murder Is the Best Solution:
Lirtelta: "The lack of things to kill in this world is annoying me greatly."
  • Not So Above It All: Despite her battle-centered attitude, she still fell for Erureidan when the team met him like all the other girls.
  • Super-Soldier: She was created to be this and easily qualifies, though she's not as strong as the rest of the super soldiers running about at Borealis.

Voroch Leerionl

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/voroch_6503.png
“We're going to investigate the site of a supposed Kormacvar and Zarkhator battle. This makes me extremely excited, I just want to pass my fingers through every piece of ruins we come across.”

One of the thousands of Wranploer who surrendered to the Polar Crystal Alliance, Voroch is the main authority in science and technology on Tetra's team, his experience about ancient Kormacvar artifacts being above that of Traslia's by a large margin. However, unlike the Rovegar who at least makes an effort in helping in battles, Voroch actively avoids combat.

  • Camp Gay: Despite being an hermaphrodite, Voroch acts like this all the time.
Lirtelta: "Voroch is a woman in soul, I saw him painting his claws once."
  • My Species Doth Protest Too Much: He's a Wranploer, yet he's not a pirate and dislikes fighting.
  • Nerves of Steel: Voroch never emotes more than a small smile or raised eyebrows. Even at the face of death, he has kept completely calm and collected, and the most he has ever done during the entirely of Son of Gotla was widen his eyes once.
  • Non-Action Guy: Despite being the largest member of Tetra's team and being, well, a Wranploer, Voroch does not fight unless he absolutely requires to.
  • Troll: One of the main reasons he acts like a Camp Gay is to bother and freak people out for no reason but to amuse himself.

Khaya Chisalka

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/khaya_5454.png
“No wound may stop me from fulfilling my mission.”

A Borealis Zazane hailing from the Borealan Adjudication Corps, Khaya was added to Tetra's team as a security enforcer. She holds the rank of Noble Enforcer within the Corps, meaning she is highly skilled and commendable. While usually stoic, she hides a very gentle, friendly and girly side.

  • Asskicking Leads to Leadership: She is a Noble Enforcer of the Borealan Adjudication Corps after all.
  • Awesome, but Impractical: Her fighting style involves running up to her enemies, unsheathing her katana, cutting the enemy in half, sheathing her katana again, running up to another enemy and then repeating it. Doing this obviously puts her in a lot of potential danger, but she still does it mainly because she enjoys doing it.
  • Being Personal Isn't Professional: The reason the team barely sees the real Khaya is because she's just too devoted to her job.
  • Can't Hold His Liquor: She was offered some Paa'go once. A few moments after, she was a mumbling mess sporting swears everywhere and beating people up with her bottle.
  • Genki Girl: Hidden under all that stoic, professional mannerism is a very energetic, very adorable girl.
Khaya: "I feel like no boy ever looked at me back at the Corps, it was like, ugh, so annoying!"
Tetra: "...Did somebody give Khaya drugs?"
  • Katanas Are Just Better: Her main weapon of choice is a Zazane katana.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Despite being a Borealis Zazane, Khaya both runs fast and hits hard thanks to her battle experience.
  • Undying Loyalty: It's part of her job, but she obviously has a lot of respect for every member on Tetra's team and would easily sacrifice herself for their safety.

    Other Polar Crystal Alliance individuals

Chief Major Xerkea

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/xerkea_2537.png
“Listen here, you piece of shit. I'm angry, I'm tired, and I'm really really sick of you. Stand still so I can jam my fist through your face!”

The angry, cynical, yet good-intentioned leader of the Niaka Special Forces.

  • Fun Size: While she's normal-sized for her species, she's still the smallest character of the entire galaxy.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite her rude behaviour, all she wants is peace for the galaxy.
  • Lack of Empathy: One of Xerkea's most notable traits is her completely unforgiving and apathetic attitude toward those she sees as criminals. Her reaction to Falrik Zaarkhun's Dark and Troubled Past was to scowl at him, and when he commited suicide, she laughed at him.
  • The Mentor: To Councillor Xeron. She claims to have trained him since he was a cadet until he became a Chief Minor.
$%* The Napoleon: Sometimes even Played for Laughs.
  • Never Mess with Granny: She's considered an elder by Niaka standards yet she's not beyond leading her men in the front lines against her enemies.
  • Powered Armor: A 4,50 meters tall suit equipped with blaster cannons and with fists strong enough to crush tanks.
  • Pragmatic Hero: Played straight. For the galaxy's greater good, she's willing to paint entire battlefields red if the situation calls for it.
  • Rebel Leader: She has founded and leads the Special Forces against the Old Order. And now that the Old Order is gone, she has become the leader of the entire Niaka race.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: She wants to end crime by destroying all criminals, preferably by the most painful ways possible.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/arkarixus_5739.png
"Our legacy does not involve galactic genocide!”

One of the two Kormacvar Warmasters, and the last surviving member of the species. A super warrior with psychic powers, he's one of the oldest and most powerful beings in the galaxy.

  • The Ace: The most powerful soldier in the galaxy, not counting demigods.
  • Berserk Button: Regnatus' affiliation with the Grox used to make him berserk.
  • Brain Uploading: Uploaded his mind into an AI so he would unfreeze his body from cryogenis once the Grox threat was over.
  • Catchphrase:
Arkarixus: "Throw him out of the airlock."
  • Colonel Badass: Being formerly Warmaster of the Kormacvar and now Warmaster of the PCA, he plays this straight.
  • Genius Bruiser: Genetically created from birth to be extremely strong and extremely intelligent.
  • Glowing Eyes: His eyes glow in deep blue when he channels his powers.
  • Jerkass: Formerly, he was an unlikeable, condensing individual. He got better though.
  • Heroic Sacrifice: Sacrificed himself to destroy Regnatus. Later averted with his revival.
  • Human Popsicle: Freezing into a Kormacvar Popsicle is jow his body survived so much time.
  • Last of His Kind: Now that Regnatus is dead, he's the last one.

  • Mind over Matter: His main mean of combat is psychic combat.
  • Old Soldier: Extremely old, extremely powerful, and a Kormacvar Warmaster.
  • One-Man Army: He was created to be one. It has been speculated that he could potentially defeat Kithworto in battle if it wasn't for the latter's Essence abilities.
  • Really 700 Years Old: Counting his time frozen, he's over 5 billion years old. Biologically, however, he's around 680.
  • Revenge: His main motivation to fight and destroy the Grox threat. He succeeded.
  • Talk to the Fist: Arkarixus did this to Zargoth of all people during the final battle of the Second Borealis Galactic War, before giving him a verbal beatdown.
  • There Is No Kill Like Overkill: Lifted a robot off the ground via pure mind power, blasted it against the ceiling, then crushed it against the ground with enough strength to make a kilometer-long dreadnought shake.

    Kicathian Remnant

Kithworto Aknatazán

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kithworto_1838.png
“What I've seen in my lifetime could fill all the books in the universe by ten.”

Leader of the Kicathian Remnant, and a notoriously powerful demigod.

Agent Nu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agentnu_9181.png
“Peace? Why talk when you can disintegrate?!”

Kicathian supersoldier, part-time intellectual, most-time complete nutjob.

Agent Tau

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agenttau_9708.png
“Listen, 'mate'. I'm an Agent. You mess around with me and I'll blow your brains out with a flick.”

Another Agent of the Kicath. Nowhere near as insane as Nu, but should still keep your distance.

Agent Alpha

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agentalpha_235.png
"“This is certainly one to be wary of: Cunning, uncompromising and prone to fits of rage. If the weight he throws around is anything to believe, he is powerful even for his kind.”

The leader of the Kicath Agents.

Agent Mu

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/agentmu_6931.png
"“I'll let you all know, I've been trained to fight essence beings. I'm also an expert in fighting the Corruptus. So when they show up, I'll do the usual Agent punchy-punchy stuff.”

Another member of the Agency, notable for possessing Death Energy and for his constant rivalry with Nu because of their similar names, and because Nu is jealous of his powers.

  • Body Horror: The left side of his body following his dark-ascension, which was disfigurated, most notably his hand. Mu himself doesn't seem to mind it much, nicknaming it as his "dead hand".
  • Deadpan Snarker: He's quick to point out flaws on everything, even his allies' actions.
  • Glass Cannon: By Agent standards. His armor protects him against essence users but is less resistant against conventional weapons. By human standards, though, he is still a Lightning Bruiser.
  • Horrifying Hero: His dark-ascension kind of ruined his social life, as most Kicath are now terrified of him.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Despite displaying an usual Kicathian aggression, Mu is for the most part a rather nice guy with those he's familiar with.
  • Mage Killer: He has been specifically trained to fight and kill essence users.
  • One-Steve Limit: Played with. While his name and Nu's are not the same, they often get confused with each other, much to their collective annoyance.
  • Power of the Void: Possesses Death Energy.
  • Walking Wasteland: Touching anything with his disfigurated hand causes it to decay and rot.

    Indoctrinate Collective

Baptarion Light

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/baptarion_3746.png

  • Took a Level in Kindness: After meeting Hachiman, he has warmed up considerably.
  • Would Hit a Girl: Has no problem delivering a mighty punch on Geltastra's face for what she did to his brother.

Head Caretaker a.k.a. The Mechanic

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/themechanic_4674.png
“Hmm...hm hmm hmm...hmmmm...aww! Stupid Gyronic coils! I swear, this experiment was one of the worst I took part in...hmm...hmmmm.”

The internal leader of the Caretakers, and now the most powerful native being in the galaxy.

  • Cool Old Guy: The Mechanic acts like the usual friendly old man.
  • Cosmic Entity: After his ascension, the Mechanic has become a gigantic sphere of psychic energy.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Zigzagged. During the Second Borealis Galactic War, the Mechanic betrayed the Polar Crystal Alliance to join Regnatus, but after he learned that Regnatus planned to discard the Caretakers, he betrayed him too and rejoined the Alliance's side.
  • I Was Just Joking: Invoked by him after his ascension in the Second Borealis Galactic War.
  • Mind over Matter: In his Caretaker body, the Mechanic had considerable Essence power. Now as an ascended being, his power expands through the entire galaxy.
  • Powered Armor: He has used a robotic suit to combat both the Alliance and the Grox. However, after the battle against Commandant Khensu, the suit was destroyed.
  • Time Abyss: He is as old as the Alvino Brood Mother, which would make him around 5 billion years old.

Alvino Brood Mother

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/alvinomother_1031.png
"I am the caretaker of nature in Borealis. To harm nature is to harm own children, and I do not tolerate my children being hurt.”

The progenitor of the entire Alvino race. Formerly a monster serving Regnatus, she was destroyed by the Polar Crystal Alliance, and later revived in its original, not-evil form.

  • Hive Queen: Served as the internal leader of the Alvino Brood. However, the Brood Mother herself was part of Regnatus' own hivemind.
  • Kaiju: Before its death, the corrupted Brood Mother made up 1/3 of its homeplanet's size. Her homeplanet is a world around 1.5x the size of Earth.
  • Monster Progenitor: She is literally the mother of every single living Alvino in the universe.
  • Time Abyss: Her first incarnation was over 5 billion years old.

    Wranploer Legion and Successors

"“I am your worst fear. All are pawns under my claws!”

One of the two leaders of the Borealis Consortium Network, and the ruler of the Wranploer Legion.

  • Bad Boss: Failing Volim often resulted in severe physical punishment, and in most extreme cases, death.
  • Big Bad: Of the First Borealis Galactic War, Clash of the Crimelords and one of the main villains of the Second Borealis Galactic War.
  • Body Horror: Thanks to his stay at Insomnia, Volim has been reduced to a huge, fleshy, limbless lump sitting right next to Santorakh's throne.
  • Combat Pragmatist: He could and would cheat whenever possible.
  • Eyepatch of Power: His right eye was lost during the First War and replaced with a cybernetic eyepatch.
  • It's All About Me: He was probably the greediest person in the entire galaxy.

  • Ascended Extra: When he was introduced, he was a fairly minor character who only had two appearences. The creator liked him so much he was promoted to a full main aharacter.
  • Chainsaw Good: Has been seeing using chainsaws to dismember his victims at several occasions.
  • Dark and Troubled Past: Many years ago, he and his squadmates were left to die and be experimented upon in a pit by Zoles soldiers. The only way he found to survive was by feeding off his squadmates and using their bodies to climb the pit. And he grew a liking on the taste of meat...
  • Demoted to Dragon: After the arrival of the Zaarkhun A.I. It didn't last long.
  • Enemy Mine: During the sixth year of the Ice Age, he agreed to make a truce with Torrent and the Polar Crystal Alliance so that they could defeat Vorius together.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Inverted. He has no problem murdering and eating other Wranploer, which is considered pretty much an unforgiving sin among the species.
  • Evil Is Visceral: Likes to scare his victims by placing them on his personal "slaughterhouse", which is filled to the brim with the dead bodies of his previous victims.
  • Just You and Me and My GUARDS!: Tried this on Torrent. What he didn't expect was that Torrent countered it by doing the exact same thing.
  • Parrot Pet Position: Sometimes has Gyjak on his shoulder like this, often in an attempt to mock Torrent and his parrot Scallywag.
  • The Starscream: Betrayed and destroyed the Zaarkhun A.I. after its use had ended.
  • Our Zombies Are Different: After being taken to Insomnia, Billig was turned into an undead.

Warlord Vorius Govardian

"The Children remain. The Children remain. The Children remain."

Vorius was a former Wranploer and the very first victim of a Shard holding Regnatus' psychic power. Following the shard's deranged orders, Vorius had turned himself into a mutated chimera of multiple species with the objective of turning the entire Borealis Galaxy into an army of mutants.

  • Ascended Extra: Before he was introduced, he was nothing more than a mention from an Alvino slave.
  • Ax-Crazy: He had absolutely zero sanity left.
  • Genius Loci: His ultimate goal was to become one and he briefly succeeded. In this form, he was known as the World of Corpses and was as large as a planet.
  • The Man Behind the Man: Vorius himself was nothing but a shell. The real mastermind was the Regnatus Shard.
  • Mighty Glacier: Enforced. He was Nigh-Invulnerable but moved quite slowly.
  • Mind over Matter: Possessed psychic powers which allowed him to do thinks such as telekinesis.
  • The Worm That Walks: He was basically made out of several smaller bits, which were made out of the fusion of several different species.

The most savage, bloodthisrty Zí-Jittorán known in the Wranploer Legion and the Consortum Network, later joined the Xhodocto Dominion after the Second War.

  • Ax-Crazy: He was not even allowed inside Volim's flagship due to how dangerous he is. He got even worse then he was infected with the Infernovirus.

  • The Corruption: He felt victim to the Infernovirus. Even before this, he had been descended offscreen.
  • Determinator: While other Infernovirus victims turned into mindless animals, Skhánaróton retained his sentience to fight the team out of pure hunger for revenge.
  • Ludicrous Gibs: He was reduced to them during the Changing History arc of the Second Borealis War. Subverted when the heroes went back in time and stopped this from happening.

Brakarion Gragon

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/brakarion_9175.png
"I will teach you what it means to be a true Levarcor!”

The leader of Dark Grip, Torrent's Quirky Miniboss Squad, Brakarion was the largest Levarcor in history and the second-in-command of the entire New Wranploer Legion.

  • Boisterous Bruiser: Quite obvious from his mannerism.
    Brakarion: "Ahahaha! Run, worms!"
  • Disney Villain Death: Brakarion was killed by being thrown off the Council Tower's roof. While the size of the tower is never specified, it is known to be at least a few kilometers tall.
  • Genius Bruiser: Being an Elder Levarcor, Brakarion was extremely intelligent and extremely strong, even more with his nanomachines in effect.
  • Mad Bomber: His main weapons of choice were tank-grade grenade and rocket launchers.
  • Mighty Glacier: While he was immensely strong, his size made him clumsy and gave him a hard time against smaller, faster targets.
  • Nanomachines: A lesser version of Torrent's own, though Brakarion's nanomachines differed from the rest of his squad in the trait that his were much more efficient.
  • Kaiju: Standard Levarcor are 2,8 meters tall in average. Brakarion was 25 meters tall.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Torrent, which was the reason the Kvargo warlord made him his second-in-command. He did start to question his masters' sanity later on, though.

Kravh Helljaw

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/kravh_helljaw_3579.png

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/enth-ei_3010.png
"The beasts now obey me, or I slaughter them with my bare hands.”

The third member of Dark Grip, T'enth-ei was a Sankáryn whose goal was to make his people dominant over the Zí-Jittorám. Overall the least evil member of Dark Grip.

  • Killed Off for Real: Was slaughtered in battle by Kamaris Vorava as revenge for blinding him.
  • Punch-Clock Villain: He merely did what he was ordered to. Unlike the rest of Dark Grip, T'enth-ei did not really have any ill feelings for the Polar Crystal Alliance;
  • Super-Speed: His main power was running in what can be described as "really freaking fast". His average running speed was 460 m/s. His highest speed recorded was 820 m/s.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: T'enth-ei did not care for piracy. His only goal was to eliminate all Zí-Jittorám. However, if obeying Torrent and destroying the Alliance was necessary to do so, he wa sgoing to do it with no hesitation.
  • Your Head A-Splode: T'enth-ei was the receiving end of this during his final battle against the Penumbra Unit, when Kamris punched him hard enough to rip his horns off his head, then crushed his head under his foot.

Tulsarshima Talsar, a.k.a. Dolgan Tuchaki

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/dolgan_679.png
"If you know who I am, you know you're not supposed to talk to me in that tone.”

The fourth member of Dark Grip, Dolgan is a Borealis Zazane tomboy with a cold view of life who serves as an assassin for Torrent's special agents. She was later revealed to be Tulsarshima Talsar, the princess of the Borealis Zazane people who was captured by pirates during her teenager years and turned into a slave.

  • An Ice Person: Dolgan's armor is equipped with an "ice blast", which is released in the event of her being pinned down or surrounded by enemies. This blast is powerful enough to send her foes back, giving her room to attack back.
  • Berserk Button: Formerly, reminding her of her past caused her to be sent into an Unstoppable Rage. This has died out, though.
  • D-Cup Distress: She has beautiful breasts, which is bad in her mindset, as she tries to be the least feminine possible.
  • Foil: To Kalcedia Myran, being a celibate, extremely serious and beautiful tomboy to her hypersexual, extremely laid back and beautiful girly girl.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Abandoned Torrent after Vekaron and his team learned about her story, and she currently serves under him as one of his associates.
  • Invisibility: Her armor is equipped with a cloaking field, which she can use to turn invisible.
  • Mighty Glacier: Being a Borealis Zazane, Dolgan is naturally extremely strong but has less agility than a standard Zazane.
  • Nanomachines: A lesser version of Torrent's own, which were eventually removed from her bloodstream when she was defeated by Vekaron and his team.
  • Rape as Backstory: Tulsarshima was taken away by pirates and was used as a sex slave for several decades, until she eventually snapped and adopted the persona of Dolgan Tuchaki.

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/xegriek_8337.png

  • Chainsaw Good: His suit's main weapons were three pairs of gigantic chainsaw blades.
  • Humongous Mecha: The largest Niaka mecha suit known, in fact. He used it as Powered Armor.
  • Man in the Machine: The lower half of his body connected directly into his suit when he was controlling it.
  • Undying Loyalty: To Torrent, though he was not as trusted as Brakarion due to his less stable mind.
  • Villainous Breakdown: Xegriek went through one during Year 7 when his attempts to defeat Vekaron and his team were continuously foiled. It eventually led to his defeat and imprisonment at Exile Station.
  • Wings Do Nothing: His robotic implants made him too heavy to fly with his wings.

    Borealis Grox Empire

Regnatus

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/regnatus_147.png

"If you so wish, then so be it. Stay with your primitives. Fight as much as you want. The outcome will be the same regardless. Your incapability of understanding that I am giving our race a new legacy will end with you being processed with the rest. I will not by stopped by you.”

The second Kormacvar Warmaster. The Grox wars ended up making him insane, and to avenge his race, he took over the minds of the Grox and turned them into his slaves. Often considered the worst villain to ever live in Borealis.

  • Ascend to a Higher Plane of Existence: Achieved a singularity by merging his body and soul with the Borealis Grid.
  • The Chessmaster:
Regnatus: "You are all pieces of my scheme. My scheme of perfection."
  • The Dreaded: There's no one at Borealis who wasn't completely terrified of him. The mere thought of him returning as Vorius sends chills through the Polar Crystal Alliance's spine.
  • Expy: To Sovereign. Traits of his character were also inspired by H. P. Lovecraft and Ruby Quest.
  • Energy Beings: His equivalent of a brain after ascending was a large sphere of energy located inside his spaceship body.
  • Killed Off for Real: Bombarded to oblivion by an united fleet made up by the entire galaxy, plus extragalactic allies.
  • Knight of Cerebus: Other villains of the Borealis War were far more light-hearted, going from rapping alien Fre'kloar to greedy warlord Volim. But then Regnatus showed up, and everything went serious.
  • Omnicidal Maniac: His plan involved harvesting everything in the galaxy and turning all life into Ascended-class Dreadnoughts.
  • Sapient Ship: His body was a spaceship.
  • With Great Power Comes Great Insanity: His singularity deteriorated what remained of his sanity.

The Perterrent

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/perterrent_8541.png
"*muffed roar*"

A mysterious monster who once haunted Planet Macronormus, the Perterrent was a powerful and incomprehensible entity who served as a major antagonist on the Distant Planet plot. A being made of gelatinous plasma-like material, it hunted the heroes on several occasions, each time getting closer to consuming them.

  • The Dreaded: Not only feared by the hero team, but feared by the entire animal population of the planet.
  • Eldritch Abomination: Incomprehensible, unnatural and very, very powerful.
  • Implacable Man: When it set its attention on a prey, it would only stop when forced to by external sources.
  • The Juggernaut: Forming walls of solid rock and throwing it into pits only made it angrier. In one of its appearences, it tore down an entire cave wall by forcing itself against it, just to get close to the group.
  • Killed Off for Real: After being frozen and then thrown into a lava pit, where it was consumed by the lava and exploded into a flashing light.
  • Mighty Glacier: What saved the hero team from it was its slow movement speed.
  • Nigh-Invulnerability: The team never found any way of actually harming it.
  • Was Once a Man: During the Ice Age, it was revealed the Perterrent was a cursed Kormacvar who was trapped at Macronormus by the Vyro'Narza. Who he was and what he did to become the Perterrent is another story.
  • Walking Wasteland: Its mere touch dissolved boulders into pools of acid in a matter of seconds.

Zoltik Relkhul

https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/zoltik_39.png
"Your planet and population are now property of SAM, including every man, woman and child. You are now obliged to follow my orders and instructions, and resistance will be payed with violence."

Zoltik Relkhul was the founder and first CEO of Soltako Armed Military. Following the ideals of Falrik Zaarkhun since his early days, he turned himself into a supersoldier to be able to fight against Loron after they destroyed his homeworld. When the creatures of Ottzello were sent to Borealis, Zoltik would become one of the greatest criminals in the galaxy by founding SAM.

  • Artificial Limbs: All of his limbs were artificial.
  • Battle in the Rain: His final battle against Xerkea happened during a heavy rainstorm.
  • Blood Knight: Zoltik absolutely loved fighting, and was always seen with a grin on his face whenever facing an enemy in close quarters.
  • The Heavy: During Xerkea's plot of Year 6, Zoltik was the one moving the story forward, even though he turned out to be just The Dragon.
  • Killed Mid-Sentence:
Zoltik: "Hahahah!...Never change, you cruel son of a-*stab*"
  • Large and in Charge: The largest Heeyorian in fiction and the leader of his own criminal organization.
  • Large Ham: Zoltik was loud, and he made no effort whatsoever to hide that fact.
  • Luckily, My Shield Will Protect Me: Zoltik used to possess six reactive shields extended from his back which caused explosions when enemy weapons came in contact with them. They were eventually destroyed by Nirta Nenra, meaning he never had the chance of using them against Xerkea.
  • Only in It for the Money: His main motivation.
Zaharalei: "You want to use such an artifact for monetary gain?!"
    Zoltik: "Why the hell not?"
  • Private Military Contractors: Zoltik was the founder and first CEO of Soltako Armed Military, one of the most successful private military companions of Borealis.
  • Shout-Out: He was a living one for Sundowner.
    Zoltik: "I'm fucking invincible!"
  • Smug Snake: He had his moments, mocking Xerkea for her cruelty for the sole purpose of angering her. It eventually bit him back and cost him his life.
  • The Social Darwinist: Much like Falrik Zaarkhun before him, Zoltik believed that the weak needed to be culled in favour of the strong. Those who could not fight under his rule were forced into fighting, and no one had a say about it because he made sure to make his soldiers Brainwashed and Crazy.
  • Super-Soldier: Through cybernetic and biological augmentation, he turned himself into one for the purpose of being able to take on any kind of enemy in battle.
