Main Characters

    Sonic
A hyperactive blue-haired teen who's also a long-time hero and the fastest thing alive. Sonic has spent most of his life on adventure, most foiling Dr. Eggman's scheme before he came to CHS, where's he now a student. This hasn't stopped his adventuring though and Sonic is always ready to take on new threats with his allies, new and old.
  • All-Loving Hero: Sonic isn't really one to hold grudges and is pretty eager to make new friends out of old enemies. This is is exemplified by his treatment of Adagio and letting Silver stay at his house after the latter tried to kill him.
  • Anti-Hero: Somewhat in one chapter. He's most of the time a straight up hero with his flaws. This is mainly due to being a composite character with his Archie and Boom selves.
  • Arch-Enemy: Three here. Eggman, Metal Sonic and Scourge.
  • Bash Brothers: With Tail and Knuckles usually. A literal example with Manic.
  • Berserk Button: Sonic doesn't kindly to those who manipulate and abuse friendship without any remorse. This is shown by his reaction to Scourge's cruel confession to Twilight.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Sonic is usually a laid-back and nice person, but getting on his bad side is not a good idea as his enemies have shown.
  • Big Brother Instinct: Usually to Tails
  • Big Eater: Very much so. He even dreamt about a giant Chili-Dog at one point.
  • Birds of a Feather: Non-Romantic, with Rainbow Dash seeing as they are both associated with the color blue, focus on speed and have a love for action and adventure.
  • Blood Knight: Downplayed, but Sonic has a huge thirst for adventure, even wanting to go on a look for Gaea Everfree.
  • Blow You Away: Sonic employs aerokinesis at times in his fights, mostly generating small tornadoes.
  • Book Dumb: Downplayed as well. Sonic isn't unintelligent and can be resourceful, but it's shown that he doesn't give his education that much attention considering how he often he almost falls asleep in class and his comments on how boring school is.
  • Casual Danger Dialogue: Has a habit of doing this to make fights more fun.
  • Celibate Hero: Despite the amount of Ship-Tease he gets, Sonic shows little interest in romance. He even said so himself to the Erotes, which earned him their wrath.
  • Chick Magnet: When Scourge impersonates him, he gets most of the girls at CHS to fall for him, which says something.
  • Composite Character: This Sonic draws elements from both his Archie and game counterparts. His personality and backstory is more in tune with the Archie side while possessing abilities such as the Boost from his game self.
  • Cool Teacher: Serves as this to Rainbow Dash in Legend of Everfree to help her control her speed. His method? Have her catch him as he leads her on a race around the camp.
  • Dark Is Not Evil: When he goes Dark Sonic, he's still a good guy, though he becomes more much ruthless.
  • Deadpan Snarker: A usual habit he has, even in battle.
  • Didn't Think This Through: While a very important exam is coming up, Sonic doesn't even bother studying until the last minute, assuming he has a super-speedy memory. He finds out the hard way he doesn't the NIGHT before the exam.
  • Friendly Rivalry: He has one here with Knuckles and Rainbow Dash. This trope can apply to him and Shadow, not that the latter gives a crap.
  • Giving Someone the Pointer Finger: Does this to Filthy Rich at the end of the Legend of Everfree arc.
  • Golden Super Mode: Super Sonic
  • The Hero: To Sunset's Heroine.
  • Heroic Will Power
  • Hidden Depths: Sonic show's considerable insight at reading people and can be quiet emotionally supportive when the time calls for it.
  • Jerkass with a Heart of Gold: Very downplayed compared to other incarnations. He's a nice guy most of the time but this only applies to his teasing and snarky attitude.
  • Leeroy Jenkins: When it comes to adventure, Sonic doesn't tend to think things through and charges in headfirst due to his impatience.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Like his comic counterpart, he can take a lot of punishment and is focuses on fast attacks.
  • Nice Guy: Sonic is one of the nicest people here and is friends with almost everyone at CHS (though there a few exceptions, but he's still willing to give them a chance).
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Him charging into Metal Sonic causes the Chaos Emerald he is powered by to fall into the hands of Twilight at Crystal Prep, forcing him, Shadow, Silver and Manic to go undercover to find it.
  • Red Oni, Blue Oni: He has this dynamic with Knuckles, Shadow (where he's the red) and Rainbow Dash (which puts him back at the blue).
  • "The Reason You Suck" Speech: He delivers a giant one to Trixie after he's fed up with the way she treated him. He immediately regrets it afterward.
Sonic: “No, they don’t! They find you to be an annoying braggart, who only talks about how much “talent” she has, when really you’re talent-less! You couldn’t pull off the cheapest card trick! Seriously all you do is never shut up about how the “Great” and “Powerful” Trixie does this, and that. No-one cares! Why do you even refer to yourself in the third person?! Who does that?! Quit acting like a spoiled little brat, and just realize that you have no power, you’re not great, and you’re a selfish, terrible person who will never be more than a wannabe, cheap, magician!”
  • Sleepyhead: Aside from in class, Sonic is commonly found napping when he can. Most notable when he sleeps on the entire trip to Camp Everfree
  • Super-Speed: He's not called Sonic for nothing.
  • Ship Tease:
    • He has sizeable amout of this here. The two he has this the most with are with Rainbow Dash and Sunset. In fact, the two Erotes pretty much had a shipping war over it.
    • He has a little bit with Adagio, especially in the Main Attraction story with their heart to heart talk and how he supports and urges her not to follow Naugus.
    • Lastly, he has some with Indigo Zap, though she acts as a Tsundere.
  • Signature Move: Due to not being a hedgehog, his trademark Spin-Attack is replaced by him turning his body into a blue coloured streak. It's just as effective though.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: To Trixie before they worked out their issues.
  • Time Master: Sonic can induce Chaos Control using an emerald, letting him warp time and space, though rarely. This could be due the one time he used it while he was running so fast, it transported him to Feist's dimension.
  • Trademark Favorite Food: Chili Dogs per usual
  • Tranquil Fury: After Scourge rubs it into Twilight's face that he was never her friend, Sonic is extremely pissed off at Scourge's cruelty, but he calmly asks Sunset to give her remaining magic before he quietly tells Scourge to shut it.
  • Turn the Other Cheek: Sonic is pretty forgiving as stated above. He's cool with Silver after the latter tried to kill him and the Dazzlings after they teamed up with Scourge to take over CHS.
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Like in most incarnations, Sonic is terrified of water (drowning to be accurate). It gets so bad that Rainbow Dash and Fluttershy have to come and help him overcome his fear when he has a freak out that wrecks the CHS fair.

    Sunset Shimmer
A former student of Principal Celestia from Equestria who escaped to the human world and now resides there. She was once a villain but is now the de-facto leader of the Rainbooms, where she plays backup guitar and represent the element of Empathy. Having had her own share of dealings with magical threats, Sunset contributes to the new adventures she experiences with the presence of Sonic and co.
  • All-Loving Hero: Shows shade of this. She convinces the others to go easy on the Erotes during their rampage on CHS and even saves The Dazzlings after they tried to take over CHS again. Though she has her limits as she let's Sonic punish the Erotes the next time.
  • Action Girl: Sunset plays quite a role in dealing with the new threats. These range from helping Sonic defeat Scourge when he took over CHS, when she went Daydream Shimmer to help Super Sonic fight against Scourge again and Midnight Sparkle.
  • Badass Bookworm: Sunset is portrayed as being quite intelligent and with all the adventures she goes on, she qualifies as badass.
  • Birds of a Feather:
    • With Shadow in a non-romanic sense. Both of them were once misguided and acted as villains and now turned over a new leaf. As well, they are the only ones of their kind (Sunset being a pony and Shadow is a Black Arms hybrid), living amongst humans. She tries to use these points to make him feel better when this fact bothers him. Unfortunately, Shadow's situation is more extreme.
    • She also realizes she's this with Discord when he brings up his past and it leads to her accepting him.At first.
  • Character Rerailment: Goes through a brief one after she is turned back to normal when she became evil again. Due to her past, this event troubles her deeply and she starts to question if she is truly reformed and reverts back to her Rainbow Rocks personality where she was wrecked with guilt over her actions. Fortunately, Sonic helps her get over.
  • The Confidant: Serves as this to Twilight over her magic worries in Legend of Everfree and Sonic when he's worried over his test. She tries to be this for Shadow, but it doesn't work.
  • Cool Big Sis: Acts this way sometimes. Mainly to Twilight during Legend of Everfree as she supports her and to Sonic when she tries to teach him how to drive and he confides in her about his stress over failing the test, though in the latterShe did have a piece on the bet that he'd at least go take the test but she's still supportive.
  • Dispel Magic: As Daydream Shimmer, she can fix magical tears.
  • The Empath: Can read the emotions of others through touch.
  • Fatal Flaw: In one chapter when dealing with Mogul, Sunset constantly keeps going up against him and losing because of her stubbornness to try and comprehend why she can't win despite working out all the math. It leaves her unhinged.
  • A Friend in Need: She's prone to doing this. The first is when she helps out Manic after he's in a gambling debt with Mogul and the second when she joins the mission in space to go rescue Shadow from Eclipse.
  • Foil:
    • To Shadow. As stated above, they both were once villains and now are heroes as well as being the only ones of their kind. However, Sunset is warm and friendly and makes bonds with her friends while Shadow prefers to be cold and aloof, preferring to be alone. In regards to being the last of their kind, Sunset chose to leave her other ponies behind back in Equestria while Shadow had no choice but to eliminate the Black Arms.
    • As in the original series, to Twilight in Friendship Games due to both wishing to study and understand magic with Sunset being more cautious and Twilight a little reckless with her eagerness while in Legend of Everfree, Sunset is keen on embracing magic while Twilight is hesitant.
  • Forgiveness: She's keen on giving others a second chance due to her own history as shown with the Dazzlings, Erotes and Discord.
  • The Gambling Addict: Briefly becomes this during her repeated gambling games against Mogul. She becomes so obsessed with trying to figure out how Mogul keeps winning she continues game after game.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: To an extent as she made an invention to analyze the magical content of an apple.
  • Golden Super Mode: Daydream Shimmer gives off a gold color.
  • Glowing Eyes: When she uses her magic power.
  • Has a Type: Seeing as she used to date Flash and the Ship Tease she get's with Sonic, it seems she has a thing for spiky blue-haired guitar players.
  • The Heroine: To Sonic's Hero.
  • Light 'em Up: AS Daydream Shimmer.
  • The Leader: Sunset is this for the group. She's the most mature and level headed and thus usually instructs them on actions to take and during Legend of Everfree She commands the group attack on Naugus.
  • Measuring the Marigolds: Has done this when she tries to analyze the magic in this world. A notable example is her attempt to analyze the magic found in a magic apple. This whole thing leads to mixup with Pinkie going Ax-Crazy.
  • Mind Reading: Her power, which let's her see through others thoughts.
  • My God, What Have I Done?: After her stunt when she turned evil again even though she wasn't in control, she still feels awful over it.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Her yelling at Twilight causes Twilight to run off into Scourge. She is able to trust him more easily due to him being 'kind' to her while everyone else was not and thus making her free him from her collar.
  • Parental Neglect: Becomes this to the Chao she and and Tails were taking care of. She was more interested in studying it's anatomy and behaviour than spending any time with it at first until Tails makes her realize this.
  • Playing with Fire: In the Dream World, she uses fire during her and Knuckle's fight with Poffy.
  • Power Gives You Wings: In her Golden Super Mode.
  • Rage Quit: Does a subtle one after she tries to teach Sonic to drive during their first lesson. After he crashes the car into a tree, she just says that's enough for the day.
  • Ship Tease: Has a lot of this with Sonic at times, considering how much time they spend together.
    • She has this with Shadow too. They accidentally hold hands when she reads his mind in Total Eclipse and she gets flustered about it later when Sonic see's them (it's not the first time). She outright calls him cute in Legend of Everfree but says he broods too much.
  • Stern Teacher: When she teaches Sonic how to drive . She explicitly tells him that she's either going to teach him to drive right or not at all and even gives him a ton of reading after their first lesson
  • Team Mom: Sunset is always looking out for her friends and making sure they're not in trouble.
  • Teen Genius: Sunset is quite intelligent and may be on par with Tails and Twilight with some of the inventions she makes to study magic. Then, she helps Tails and Eggman fix his broken machine to restore Chaos back to normal in 'Discord and Chaos'.
  • Touch Telepathy: How her power works. It leads to a funny moment with Shadow in Total Eclipse.
  • Winged Humanoid: In her good transformed state.
  • Your Approval Fills Me with Shame: When Scourge expresses how he thinks the fact that she used to be evil is 'hot', she is clearly disgusted.

    Tails
Sonic's best friend and sidekick who has been with him since his earliest adventures and now goes to CHS along with him. Tails is a normally a kind hearted individual, which lets him get along quite well with the new friends he makes at CHS. He's a super genius and uses these skills to help Sonic or the Rainbooms against any obstacle.
  • Ace Pilot: Tails is extremely skilled at piloting the Tornado plane and these skills have proven themselves notably when he Distracts a giant Chaos in 'Discord and Chaos'.
  • Arm Cannon: Has one which he dubbed the 'Miles Buster'. Pinkie was not amused.
  • Badass Bookworm: A genius who can keep up with Sonic on his adventures, nuff said.
  • Birds of a Feather: Non-romantic one with Twilight. Both of them being super geniuses makes them have a solid friendship.
  • Bungling Inventor: Has a case of this when his 'Miles Buster' is ineffective against the Nightmaren, Gulpo.
  • Cheerful Child: Is usually positive and upbeat most of the time.
  • Child Prodigy: Due to his incredibly high I.Q and amount of inventions, he qualifies.
  • Composite Character: He has the personality of his Archie Self mainly but the abilities of his game counterpart such as Dummy Ring Bombs and his cannon.
  • Cool Car: Tails built the Speed Star for Sonic to him to test out. Though he should have mentioned he took it from a Metal Sonic engine.
  • Cool Plane: The Tornado.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: Somewhat. Nightmare Rarity tries to pull this on him to get him to reveal where the Emerald were. While Tails was kind of giddy, it didn't work, much to her dismay.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: With everything he's invented.
  • Good Parents: When taking care of the Chao with Sunset, he's the one who gives it the most attention and gets Sunset to stop neglecting it.
  • Heli-Critter: Averted here due to him being human but Discord attaches 8 fox tails on him to take flight. It wasn't fun.
  • Hidden Depths: During Legend of Everfree, he shows himself to be not that bad of a baker. He claims that putting frosting on cookies requires just as much precision as working on his inventions.
  • Inside a Computer System: During 'Discord and Chaos', Discord traps him in his Miles Electric, forcing him to fend off the various programs inside it.
    • Kid Detective: During Legend of Everfree when investigating the mystery behind Gaea Everfree, he shows excitement at the chance of getting to solve a mystery.
  • Lovable Nerd: A big nerd, but is well liked by most people. On a camping trip, he still tries to find a way to tinker with machines.
  • Little Bit Beastly: When Discord attaches 8 tails to him.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Tails built the Speed Star car for Sonic as a gift. However, he didn't mention that he used parts from a Metal Sonic to rebuild it. This led to a rebuilt Metal Sonic coming after Sonic to take back his parts and eventually caused it to be destroyed.
  • Odd Friendship: With Pinkie Pie, due to her being quite goofy and can defy the laws of physics while Tails is a scientist who works within those laws. Despite this, they spend a bit of time together and Tails even teachers her about her powers.

  • Science Hero: Tails uses his intellect to solve problems on adventures.
  • Techno Babble: He does this while explaining to Discord what he had planned for the afternoon regarding his latest invention. It ends up causing Discord to sleep.
  • Wise Beyond Their Years: Aside from being a super genius, Tails has shown himself to be insightful as when he started to quote Jean-Paul Sartre on the existence of living things before Shadow cut him off.

    Twilight Sparkle and Spike
A prestigious student and huge bookworm, Twilight originally attended Crystal Prep as she studied the strange events at CHS, with Sonic and the other's presence further increasing her interest before she transferred to Canterlot High, where she forms strong friendships with the main group and represents the element of Magic. All the chaotic events that occur peak her interest greatly and she's excited to tackle them.

Spike is Twilight's loyal companion, who through magic, gained the ability to speak. He accompanies Twilight on her arrival to CHS.

Tropes applying to Twilight:

  • Adaptational Villainy: Somewhat as when Principal Cinch ordered her and the Shadowbolts to get Sonic, she didn't object to it and was fine with capturing Scourge. Subverted later when she apologizes to him in Friendship Games, indicating she didn't have much of a choice anyway.

  • Badass Book Worm: Due to being a scientist and after getting her powers and joining the group on her adventures, she qualifies.
  • Batman Gambit: Does this against Evil Sunset. She gave her access to her mind on purpose as due to her having a mind power, she knew Evil Sunset's powers wouldn't affect her.
  • Battle in the Center of the Mind: Does with Evil Sunset in Fiendship with Magic in order to bring her friend back.
  • Be All My Sins Remembered: In Legend of Everfree, she still feels bad about everything she did as Midnight Sparkle. Shadow's distrust of her doesn't help her cope well.

  • The Heroine: During Fiendship is Magic and Legend of Everfree.
  • Horrible Judge of Character: She believed that Scourge was the nice guy and Sonic was the bully. Though to be fair, her interactions with the latter didn't help much at first.
  • I Choose to Stay: After Friendship Games, she transfers to CHS, thus putting her in the main cast.

  • Unwitting Pawn: Twilight had no idea that Scourge was just using her to get his powers back and actually believed they were friends.

  • I Work Alone: Employs this during his teamup with Daring Do at first. Fortunately, he realizes that he knows better how that attitude works and convinces her to work with him.

  • Malicious Misnaming: Sonic occasionally refers to him as Knucklehead or Chuckles. In response, Knuckles takes jab at his fear of water.

  • Childhood Friends: With Coloratura. Rarity is dismayed she never mentioned it before.
  • Does Not Know Her Own Strength: During Legend of Everfree at first, though she gets a better hang of it.
  • The Every Man: Applejack can be considered the most normal out of her group of friends, so whenever they need to hang out somewhere, she usually organizes it.

Like Knuckles and Tails, Manic has been adventuring with Sonic for a long time and sticks with him at CHS. While he would like to ignore any of the threats posed, Manic can't resist backing his friends up.
  • Accidental Murder: Manic thinks he's done this to Angel Bunny at one point and starts freaking out. Turns out the little guy was ok.
  • Adaptational Personality Change: In Sonic Underground, Manic was a laid back kleptomaniac. Here, his personality is fleshed out by adding different traits not found in his home series.
  • Animals Hate Him: Unlike his brother, animals aren't too fond of Manic, especially Angel Bunny.
  • Anime Hair: Manic has the craziest hair of the group aside from Silver, who says it looks like an un-mowed lawn and animals have used it as nest. Filthy Rich repeatedly calls for someone to cut it.
  • Apathetic Teacher: Somewhat in Legend of Everfree when he teaches Fluttershy. It's not that he doesn't care, he just doesn't know how to teach her about her powers.
  • Butt-Monkey: During 'Freezer Burned' as Sonata constantly ignores or forgets his name, his screw up with Lyra is revealed to the whole world and he gets called out for making the former feel worse.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: Manic is highly intelligent and applies himself in certain cases. Key word being certain.
  • Can't Get Away with Nuthin': After he attempts to steal a rabbit from the pet store. Sure he doesn't do it and changes his mind, but he still gets in trouble due his presence being caught on tape and he ends up taking the heat.
  • Casanova Wanna Be: Zigzagged. On the one hand, Manic does tend to flirt with many girls, which tends not to work out but on the other hand, he has (possibly) 3 girls who seemed to be interested in him, not to mention he used to date Lyra Heartstrings at one point.
  • Deadpan Snarker: He does this even when his life is in danger such as by taunting Mogul who could easily crush him with his powers. Most of his snark usually goes to Shadow.
  • Distracted by the Sexy: During Evil Fluttershy's Evil Costume Switch, Manic is distracted by how great he thinks she looks and doesn't suspect her of anything.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Manic is a thief but he has limits. For example, when he see's Eggman trying to steal animals from the pet store, he feels compelled to stop him (though granted he was going to do the same thing at first).
  • Foolish Sibling, Responsible Sibling: The Foolish to Sonic's Responsible.
  • Heel Realization: Seeing Eggman kidnapping animals from the pet store makes him realize he shouldn't do it and he decides to come clean to Fluttershy on Angel's status. It worked out in the end.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: Manic is a thief and can be morally ambiguous at times, but he is really a nice guy. He feels bad when his Sunset gets caught in a mess he made and he decides not to steal a rabbit are just two examples of his many nice actions.
  • Lovable Rogue: Manic may be a kleptomaniac thief, but he's one of the good guys and shows it a lot.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: When Manic wishes Erazor wasn't bound by the lamp, it sets him free and allows him to run havok among the world.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: His reward for saving a bunch of kidnapped animals from Eggman? He gets blamed for the theft and sent to remedial detention.
  • Sitcom Arch-Nemesis: To Angel Bunny.
  • Super-Speed: Something he didn't have in his home series, though he now has it here.
  • Ship Tease: He has a lot of this. Primarily it's with Fluttershy, but he also has significant amount with Sonata, who genuinely seems to like him and Lemon Zest, who at least thinks he's cool.
  • Token Evil Teammate: Manic is definitely not evil, but he can be more morally ambiguous than his brother and friend as he's ok with lying, stealing and cheating...at times.
  • Vitriolic Best Buds: He thinks he's this with Shadow, who begs to differ.

    Fluttershy
A shy and timid member of the Rainbooms who loves animals and plays the tambourine while representing the element of Kindness. Due to her nature, Fluttershy is somewhat hesitant to battle against the antagonist and especially all the new ones she encounters, she manages to overcome her fears in order to support her friends whenever they need her the most.
  • All-Loving Hero: There is a reason she represents the element of kindness. She's always willing to give people the benefit of the doubt, even Discord after she found he screwed with her friends. Even Shadow isn't aggressive with her as he is to others.
  • Alternate Self: Discord learns that while she shares the same name as his Fluttershy, they are still two very different people.
  • Apologizes a Lot: Has a tendency to do this. A notable example is after she accidentally sits on Sonic, she ends up going on a tangent apologizing, though he calms her down.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Fluttershy is normally quite timid but if you push her buttons, she will show her anger as when she calls out Iron Will for his treatment of Sonic, stands up to a giant dragon Nightmaren and another time when she stood her ground against Shadow.
  • The Beast Master: Her power allows her to communicate with animals and due to her kind nature, they usually obey her.
  • Cowardly Lion: Is normally afraid of a lot of things, but when push comes to shove, she'll stand up to almost anything.
  • Cute and Psycho: Normally is shy and quiet but she has her moments. Notable is when the Chao she and Manic are raising ignores her but loves Manic, making her a littl unhinged.
  • The Eeyore: Can be a pessimist at times such as she doubts she and Sonic will get out of the Nightmare Zone. Sonic being an optimist, disagrees.
  • Fluffy Tamer: In a non-friendly example. She was able to stop a giant dragon from chasing her and Sonic by lecturing it as one would do to a pet. And it actually works.
  • A Friend in Need: Due to her representing the element of kindness, she has a tendency to do this. First is when she tries to cheer up Shadow when he's down on the Holidays and second when trying to help Sonic overcome his fear of water.
  • Friend to All Living Things: It's her one of her defining character traits, which is why she doesn't take it well when the Chaos doesn't pay her any attention.
  • Gullible Lemmings: Somewhat. When Manic told her of all the lame excuses of why she couldn't see Angel, she believed every single one of them.
  • The Heart: Kind of comes with being the element of Kindness
  • Healing Hands: Does this in the dreamworld to save Sonic.
  • Hypnotic Eyes: 'The Stare'. Even Shadow isn't immune (that or he just decided he was wasting time staring off with her).
  • Innocent Blue Eyes: So much they remind Shadow of Maria's.
  • Let's Get Dangerous!: A few times such as when she stood down Shadow with the stare and stood up to Iron Will for Sonic's sake. Also when she flies up to a GIANT CHAOS to place the cord to defeat him.
  • Nature Hero: Her connection with animals places her as this.
  • Nice Girl: So much even Shadow sees it and doesn't treat with hostility like he does most of the others.
  • Odd Friendship: First, with Rainbow Dash who she spends a lot of time with. They even work together to help Sonic overcome his fear of water.
    • There's also with Shadow and Manic, seeing as she's a shy and timid individual but nonetheless nice. Shadow is anti-social gruff loner and Manic is a morally ambiguous (at times) carefree guy. Yet, she has genuine moments of bonding with the two of them.
  • Ship Tease: Has a quite a bit of this with Manic. She's the one who's always first to believe he's a nice guy and he does playfully flirt with her a bit.
  • Speaks Fluent Animal: Can talk to animals directly and this comes in handy every now and then such as her coaching fish to help Sonic fight Eggman underwater.
  • Talking the Monster to Death: She does this to the Nightmaren Gullwing, long enough for Sonic to land a good hit and beat him.
  • The So-Called Coward: Normally appears afraid of almost anything but anything terrifying that comes up and threatens her friends, she'll face it with no second thought such as [[risking her life to save Discord by flying up to a out of control Chaos's face.]]
  • Undying Loyalty: Fluttershy is this for all of her friends. An example would be when she refuses to give up on Sonic when helping face his water fear.

    Silver
A psychic youth who comes from 200 years into the future. Silver travelled back in time in order to save his future and through poor miscommunication, assumed Sonic was responsible and attempts to take him out. After clearing up the misunderstanding and getting himself stuck in the past, Silver finds himself forming new friendships he lacked in the future and continues to aid his friends on their various adventures.
  • Anime Hair: Widely considered to have the craziest hair among the cast and its the butt of many jokes. Fashionistas seem to love it though.
  • Anti-Hero: Only in his first appearance, where he tried to kill Sonic as he thought he was the cause of his ruined future. After that, he goes to full blown hero.
  • Boy Friend Bluff: Rarity has him pretend to be her boyfriend in order to get a free ticket to Fancy Pants's event.
  • Birds of a Feather: Non-Romantic version with Starlight, as due to both of them being new to the setting, they strike up a friendship due to this.
  • Big Damn Hero: When he rescues Trixie from the Hooligans.
  • Butterfly Effect: He expresses concern that his interactions with the past will have grave consequences for the future in the Ifrit chapter and tries to avoid talking to people. It doesn't stick.
  • Catch and Return: Uses his powers to reflect attacks back at his enemies mainly.
  • Fire-Forged Friends: With Rarity when they team up to battle against the Ifrit.
  • Future Badass: Subverted due to him still not utilizing his full potential in regards to his powers.
  • Get Back to the Future: He tries do this in one chapter when he feels like being in the past has made him lose sight of his goal and works with Dr. Hooves. It doesn't work out, leading him to conclude that maybe he's in the past for a reason.
  • Inspector Javert: Like his other portrayals, here he immediately accuses Sonic of having something to do with his ruined future when he had no evidence and tries to take him out.
  • Just Ignore It: Averted twice. First, he tries to ignore Coco Pommel being bullied by Suri, but he realizes he can't let it go and jumps in to defend her. Second is when after he and Trixie have a falling out regarding her magic act, he realizes she's going to make a fool out of herself without his help and tries to brush it, but ultimately goes after her.
  • Knight Templar: He was prepared to go pretty far to save his future, though he got better.
  • Mind over Matter: Similar to Twilight, he uses telekinesis.
  • Nice Guy: After he clears things up with Sonic, Silver becomes one of the nicest people of the group as shown by him sticking up for Coco and helping out Trixie with her magic show.
  • No Social Skills: Partially due to him coming from a ruined future with limited social interaction, Silver constantly comes across as not used to the norms of this timeline. Also in his interactions with Rarity and Sunny Flare
  • Odd Friendship: With Trixie.
  • Psychic Powers: He primarily uses telekinesis, though he can cause some confusion with his powers at times. He does specify to Rarity that he's not a telepath.
  • Ship Tease: Has a lot of with Rarity, which started when he pretended to be her boyfriend. It especially occurs in the Into Dreams arc. After that, it can be debatable if a ship with them is canon or not
    • He also gets a tiny bit with Trixie when he helps her out with her magic show and she eagerly hugs him. Twice.
  • Skilled, but Naive: He's a powerful fighter, but his people skills aren't the best.
  • Time Travel: Using a Time Stone, he uses Chronos Control to travel through time, though the stone is gone now.
  • Trapped in the Past: Due to Sonic's attempt to be friendly, it ended up with his Time Stone travelling through a portal without him. And then said stone gets destroyed by the Ifrit.
  • Well-Intentioned Extremist: Downplayed, but he still was willing to kill Sonic to save his future, though he's gotten better now and they're friends.

    Rarity
A fashionista member of the Rainbooms who plays the guitar-key and represents the element of Generosity. Graceful and elegant, Rarity isn't exactly too fond of all the chaos that happens at CHS due to the number it takes on her outfits. However, she always puts aside her own needs for her friends and joins them in solving any kind of problem.
  • Action Fashionista: Rarity can hold her own as demonstrated when she helps Silver fight off the Ifrit at Fancy Pants's party.
  • Amazingly Embarrassing Parents: Rarity's parents are nice and well-meaning but they are extremely chipper and over affectionate. When she brings Silver to her house, they swoon over him and show him embarrassing videos of Rarity when she was younger and were going to even show Sweetie Belle's birth. Silver draws the line there.
  • Barrier Warrior: She can create diamond shaped shields as a result of her new magic.
  • Crazy-Prepared: When it comes to outfit, she's always ready. When Sonic gets the chance to participate in the Friendship Games, she already had an outfit made for him.
  • Damsel out of Distress: While the Zoah do capture her, she ultimately frees herself from their prison by the time Manic comes to save her.
  • Deuteragonist: In 'Into Dreams', she gets the second most importance after Silver
  • Deflector Shield: When she uses her diamonds, they are mostly used for defensive purposes such as making barriers, though they can be used for other purposes such as platforms. They have their limits as shown in the fight against Gaea Everfree and Naugus
  • Did You Just Flip Off Cthulhu?: Criticizes the wardrobe Wizeman uses for his minions.
  • Drama Queen: Rarity has a tendency to overreact at certain things. When she gets her designed rejected in 'Into Dreams' she goes off on a crying fit while eating ice cream and views it as betrayal that Sonic, Manic, and Applejack did not tell her they were friends with celebrities.
  • Girly Bruiser: Rarity is quite feminine but she's known to take on aliens from another dimension much larger than her.
  • Heroic BSoD: Suffers one when her designs get rejected by the Canterlot Theatre. This is the catalyst for her to become Nightmare Rarity.
  • Imagination-Based Superpower: The shape and usage of Rarity's diamonds come from her mind, which Silver picks up on and uses to teach her how to control her power.
  • Instant Cosplay Surprise: When she and Silver are with the Chao they were taking care of, she dresses it up so fast in different clothes. It picks up this trait from her.
  • Not So Above It All: She normally presents herself as keeping her poise but when she finds out Mina and Countess Coloratura were performing a duet, she loses it.
    • An earlier example would be when she sprays ink on Blue Blood's outift. Not for insulting her dress, but for insulting Manic.
  • Odd Friendship: With Manic in one chapter seeing as she's refined and has an upper-class attitude while Manic is a laid back kleptomaniac. However, she says she really appreciates his company and even ruins Blue Blood's shirt for insulting him.
  • The Perfectionist: When Manic helps her make a dress, she constantly nags at him and tells him to do things over for the slightest of inconsistencies.
  • Ship Tease: Has a large amount with Silver. So much now it may or may not be canon. A stronger example would be when Silver announces he's going back to the future, Rarity takes it the hardest and ends up moping around for a while until he reveals he's staying.
  • Skewed Priorities: After Sonic gets out of being eaten by a giant plant, Rarity is dismayed that her outfit is ruined rather than checking to see if he's ok at first, though she quickly realizes this.
  • Temporarily a Villain: As Nightmare Rarity.
  • Thinks Like a Romance Novel: Like in the show, she thought her romance with Blue Blood would be perfect until she sees how much of a jerk he really is.
  • Unlimited Wardrobe: She has almost an endless supply of different variations of clothes.

    Rainbow Dash
An extremely athletic member of the Rainbooms who plays main guitar and represents the element of Loyalty who always insist on being 20% cooler. Rainbow Dash is the most eager to take part in the new excitement that arrives, seeing it as the coolest thing ever and is usually front line at most events.
  • 20% More Awesome: Invokes this saying alot, and even uses it as an opposite at times.
  • Action Girl: The most prominent example of the Rainbooms. Whenever danger arises, she's the first to respond.
  • Berserk Button: A mild one, but implying she's slow seems to get her a little riled up. Sonic teases her a lot about this and is how he gets her to go along with his teaching in Legend of Everfree.
  • Birds of a Feather: Non-Romantic, with Sonic seeing as they are both associated with the color blue, focus on speed and have a love for action and adventure. Shadow even calls her a female Sonic at one point. She was not amused.
  • Blood Knight: Similar to Sonic, Rainbow Dash gets giddy at the idea of adventure.
  • Brilliant, but Lazy: She can do well in school, but she prefers to slack off. This is shown when she and Sonic make a bet on a test, she raises her hand as one of the students who can answer a complicated question and even passes it with a B-.
  • Bruiser with a Soft Center: While she may appear to keep up a tough attitude, she displays her sensitive side at times such as her relief that Sonic didn't get blown up or in her interactions with her Chao.
  • Brutal Honesty: She can be blunt at times, which makes her seem a little insensitive. This is usually in regards to Shadow's attitude.
  • Cool Big Sis: To Scootaloo.
  • Competition Freak: A mild example towards Sonic in anything having to do with speed.
  • Deadpan Snarker: She gets a few one liners every now and then.
Rainbow Dash (in regards to Shadow asking her to stop bouncing her ball): I’m going to say the same thing as I did the last 40 times you asked. No.

  • Friendly Rivalry: With Sonic over speed.
  • Hot-Blooded: Very spirited

  • The Knights Who Say "Squee!": Around the Speed Star, she practically is in love with the car.
  • Mama Bear: Don't mess with her Chao, as Eggman learned.
  • Morality Pet: The Chao she and Sonic take care of. Around it, she's much more softer with it.
  • My Beloved Smother: Towards her Chao. She starts to worry heavily about its safety and even dresses it up in body armor made of sports gear.
  • Passionate Sports Girl: She's not the captain of every sports team for nothing.
  • The Rival: Aria is a hostile version of this for her in Freezer Burned as they won't stop bickering and arguing.
  • Ship Tease: Has a lot with Sonic. So much the two Erotes weren't sure if it was her or Sunset he should be with.
  • Signature Move: She uses smaller versions of a Sonic Rainboom frequently.
  • Sink or Swim Mentor: She tries to do this t Sonic to help him get over his fear of water. She shoves him in the pool and unfortunately, he starts to sink.
  • Sugar-and-Ice Personality: She comes across as abrasive and arrogant but she's a loyal friend.
  • Super-Speed: What her geode gives her. Due to this, she wants to prove she's faster than Sonic, which he entertains.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: When she works with Shadow in the Nightmare Zone. They aren't fond of each other's company at first but they do manage to work together to defeat the Nightmaren Clawz.
  • Too Fast to Stop: When she first got her super speed, she couldn't control it. With some coaching from Sonic, she gets the hang of it.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Towards her Chao. At first she thought it was lame and had nothing to do with it, but as she spends more time with it, she warms up to it greatly.
  • Undying Loyalty: When Rainbow Dash forms a connection with someone, this is her most defining aspect.

    Pinkie Pie
The most hyperactive and cheerful member of the Rainbooms who plays the drums and represents the element of Laughter. Pinkie is a party girl and almost always has a smile on her face, even when in the face of danger. She wants all of her friends to smile along with her, even if not all of them are too keen on it.
  • Abnormal Ammo: Her party cannon usually fires confetti, much to Omega's dismay. This is averted when she went psycho and her cannon fired lethal rounds.
  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: Pinkie has trouble concentrating on topics whenever she starts a conversation with someone and usually runs off on a different subject altogether.
  • Battle in the Center of the Mind: Her dreamworld is the setting of the first battle with Reala.
  • Beware the Nice Ones: Pinkie is usually cheerful and happy, but get on her bad side and she can be fierce as she does have the power to make things explode. Even without it, When the G.U.N. Commander writes off Shadow as a liability in Total Eclipse, she verbally tears him a new one.
  • Beware the Silly Ones: Above, she's a party loving maniac but that doesn't mean she should be underestimated. Eclipse wasn't able to land a single hit on her, she managed to stop the Shadow Androids and she was able to defeat Reala in her own mind.
  • Big Eater: Normal for Pinkie. She once stuffed three caramel apples in her mouth.
  • Break the Cutie: She's happy most of the time, but if she gets brushed off or her friendship rejected, it puts her down.
  • Clingy Jealous Girl: When Shadow spends a lot of time with BonBon, she's visibly annoyed that he has appeared to accept BonBon's friendship so easily.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: She bough cursed handcuffs off the street, thinking they were cursed in the fun way.
  • The Cuckoolander Was Right: She correctly guesses that Scourge was impersonating Sonic, but forgets about when he charms her and the others.

  • Motor Mouth: Has a tendency to speak really fast.
  • No Sense of Personal Space: Get's up in people's faces a lot with her hugs, especially to Shadow.
  • Not Good with Rejection: When Shadow rejects her offer of a birthday party, she becomes unhinged.
  • Odd Friendship: Two. With Shadow, though it's hard to tell if he actually considers her a friend. They are polar opposites, but he always gets roped into doing things with her. There's also with Tails, who is a scientist and deals with things that are possible and Pinkie is anything but that, yet they get along just well. There's also Omega, with him being a violent robot who loves to destroy things while Pinkie wants to make everyone happy. Her destructive power is what causes their friendship.
  • Opposites Attract: Non Romantic with Shadow. Pinkie is happiness personified and is always smiling, while Shadow rarely smiles and is a brooding loner. Due to this, Pinkie is determined to make him smile and spends a lot of time around him and Shadow just tolerates it.

Due to this, he has been assigned to the City of Canterlot to keep an eye on all of the events that happen and ends up interacting with Sonic and the others. Despite this, Shadow prefers to keep his distance and would rather do things his own way.
  • The Ageless: He never ages. He uses this fact to try and convince Pinkie he does not need a birthday party
  • Aloof Ally: Will help Sonic and the group in the threats that they face but still refuses to sit with them at lunch or hang out with them in general.
  • Anti-Hero: As usual for Shadow. He has good intentions but is a rough and asocial loner who would rather do things his own way and can be quite harsh if necessary as shown in the hunting chapter and Legend of Everfree.
  • Arch-Enemy: Eclipse is this for him.
  • Artificial Human: Due to being human instead of a hedgehog in this.
  • Bad Ass Arm Fold: Has this pose most of the time.
  • Badass Biker: He mentions owning a motorcycle, which is why he was searching for a job.
  • Badass Boast:
Shadow to Naugus: The Ultimate Lifeform bows to no one!

  • Big Damn Hero: Saves Timber from being burned by a giant fire blast from Naugus in Legend of Everfree.
  • Birds of a Feather: With Sunset in a non-romanic sense.
  • Brainwashed and Crazy: In Total Eclipse, Eclipse subjects him to this.

  • Dark Is Not Evil: Shadow gives off a dark appearance and while not the nicest guy around, he's a good guy.
  • Determinator: Shadow will stop at nothing to achieve his goal. After fighting his friends and being freed from Eclipses's mind control, he says nothing will stop him from getting vengeance on Eclipse.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Sometimes, he dishes this out to Manic or Rainbow Dash, once calling her the 'Female Sonic'. She didn't like that.
  • The Dragon: To Eclipse while brainwashed.
  • Fatal Flaw: According to Pinkie, he has many including anger, depression, Mood swings and Anti social behavor.
  • Fantastic Nuke: His Chaos Blast attack.
  • Foil: To Sunset. They both were once villains and now are heroes as well as being the only ones of their kind.
  • Friendly Rivalry: His relationship with Sonic here. They aren't exactly friends but their rivalry is not as hostile as some incarnations.
  • Gagging on Your Words: When he agrees to have Pinkie throw him a party and when he thanks friends for helping him in Total Eclipse.
  • Golden Super Mode: Super Shadow in Total Eclipse.
  • Good Is Not Nice: You better believe it. Shadow may be a good guy, but he is far from being nice as shown by his treatment of Twilight in Legend of Everfree.
  • Hates Small Talk: Shadow does not do well with friendly conversation as Twilight found out the hard way. Sunset even once said talking to him is more stressful than dealing with magical threats.
  • Haughty "Hmph": Uses this a lot.
  • Hidden Heart of Gold: He may be a harsh loner but deep down, he's actually a nice guy as demonstrated by his interactions with Fluttershy and Pinkie mostly. He even apologizes to Twilight for his actions towards her in Legend of Everfree.
  • Ineffectual Loner: Tries to be this, but whenever the group has a large kind of gathering, he ends up joining them.
  • Jerk with a Heart of Gold: As mentioned before, he's cold and aloof, but he genuinely cares about his friends, including the group, and wishes to protect the planet, though he just doesn't show it.
  • Ki Manipulation: Chaos Spear and Chaos Blast both manipulate "Chaos energy," which amounts to this for him.
  • Knight Templar: Regarding his treatment of Twilight in Legend of Everfree. He treats with her hostility but only because he fears she could be a threat and doesn't care how it hurts her at first.
  • Lightning Bruiser: Similar to Sonic, backed up by his Chaos Power
  • No Sense of Humour: Due to his attitude, Shadow normally doesn't understand humor, including when he's being mocked as shown by him not reacting to Timber's multiple jabs towards him.
  • Not So Above It All: He owns a bike he likes even though he's super fast.
  • Oblivious to Love: Shadow doesn't notice Aria's crush on him and as a result, ends up having her tag along with him at times. He sees it as keeping an eye on her.
  • Odd Friendship: With BonBon somewhat. Due to them being secret agents and assigned on the same case, they end up working together and quite well actually. He even lets her and Lyra take a selfie with him.
  • Perpetual Frowner: Rarely smiles.
  • Pet the Dog: Encouraging Pinkie in her dreamworld to beat Reala, letting her throw him a party after she helped him beat Eclipse the first time and bonding with Fluttershy briefly while observing nature.
    • In Legend of Everfree, he apologizes to Twilight for the way he was treating her and even returns Timber's fistbump after the latter says he's an ok guy.
  • Pragmatic Hero: Will not mind doing unlikeable things for the greater good such as treating Twilight with mistrust in Legend of Everfree and before that, threatening her for an emerald when he, Manic, Silver and Sonic infiltrate Crystal Prep.

  • Adaptational Wimp: Somewhat, as while he's been the villain of a few chapters, he usually gets dealt with not much difficulty, though his inventions cause many issues in a lot of chapter. Subverted when he manages to steal Discord's powers and trick him but he loses control of Chao. Time will tell if this will change.

A lot of them cause many conflicts in the series and he manages to trick Discord out of his powers.
  • The Chess Master: Eggman does plan ahead at times such as him planning to get Sonic to lower his guard in order to zap him with his ray, knowing how Sonic would react if he faked defeat in Fiendship is Magic.. Subverted as his plan fails but causes the main conflict.

  • Mad Bomber: Bean, who can make them come out of nowhere.
  • Not-So-Harmless Villain: They may seem like a joke, but the three of them are actually good at what they do and can put the likes of Sonic and Silver on the edge.

They once had the ability to take control of others using their voices before they were defeated by the Rainbooms, making them normal. Since then, they have tried to adjust and cope with their new situation as they interact with Sonic and co.

Tropes applying to Adagio:

  • Anti-Hero: Type V in this as she does have some redeeming qualities.
  • Adaptational Badass: In the Main Attraction, she's given her own crystal guardian form, which lets her fire red sonic screams and even generate an avatar that can fight Naugus.
  • Adaptational Heroism: Adagio here is less evil than she was in the movie such as having lines she wouldn't cross, returning favours to people she feels like she owns and becomes more or less an acquintance of the heroes. Subverted in the Main Attraction at first but she returns to this in the end.
  • Alpha Bitch: She's the leader of the trio and the most abrasive, and thus comes across as this. Even when she's not being a villain, she's not the nicest person.
  • Becoming the Mask: During the Main Attraction, when she pretends to be nice in order to get the location of the Chaos Emeralds. At first, it's just an act, but she has a heart to heart moment with Sonic that makes it seem like she was genuinely considering giving up on getting her magic back. However, she ends up sticking with her plan, though later finds herself dissatisfied due to what it cost her.
  • Big Bad Duumvirate: Shares the role of Naugus as the antagonist of the Main Attraction but its subverted as she's also the main character and ultimately helps defeat him. Played straight in her team up with Scourge though.
  • Brought Down to Normal: She and her companions lose the powers they temporarily got from Scourge's Anarchy Beryl. Happens again at the end of the Main Attraction, where she uses it all up to hold off Naugus and destroy his chamber.
  • Dark Magical Girl: When she gets her magic back in the Main Attraction, though it's subverted as she helps fight the Big Bad.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Adagio snarks a lot at the villains she teams up and makes backhanded to her fellow sirens at times.
  • Deal with the Devil: Makes a deal with Naugus to help him perform his spell if he gets her magic back.
  • Even Evil Has Standards: Adagio is appalled when Scourge suggests killing Sonic and Sunset and firmly tells him they don't kill. She's also angry when Naugus plans on betraying her and turns against him due to that.
  • Fighting Spirit: She creates a crystallized version of her siren form to fight Naugus.
  • Hazy-Feel Turn: Adagio's allegiance is hard to pinpoint. She did team up with Scourge to take over CHS, but later releases everyone as a favour for Sunset saving them. Later, she hangs out with the cast in Freezer Burned. During the Main Attraction she Works with Naugus to get his spell done but later turns against him and sides with Sonic.
  • I Just Want to Be Loved/I Just Want to Have Friends: During her talk with Sonic in the Main Attraction, its implied that Adagio only uses her siren powers because she's lonely and insecure about her self worth.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: Twice. First is when the Anarchy Berly she and the others used to take over CHS gets destroyed. Second is when She loses her magic in the Main Attraction after betraying Sonic and helping Naugus for it.
  • Make Me Wanna Shout: When she gets her magic back, she can fire sonic screams. One time she used Anarchy Beryl.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Whenever Adagio does something nice, it always backfires. When she releases everyone from her control, her Anarchy Beryl is shattered. After she helps Sonic and destroy's Naugus's chamber, her magic is gone once more.
  • Manipulative Bitch: During the Main Attraction, tries to get Sonic to reveal to her the location of the Chaos Emerald. He does, but he knew she was up to something.
  • Opportunistic Bastard: Takes every chance she can get to regain her magic such as working with Scourge and Naugus.
  • Ship Tease: Adagio has some with Sonic here. This is increased further in the Main Attraction, where they spend more time together and she possibly opens up to him.
  • Teeth-Clenched Teamwork: With Scourge, who she finds impulsive and annoying. Also with Naugus, as she doesn't like the fact he seems to view her as a lackey. It's what causes her to turn on him.
  • Took a Level in Badass: When she gets her own crystal guardian form.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: A bit. She's not nice, but she does have her positive traits and isn't outright malicious.
  • Villain Protagonist: Subverted in the Main Attraction storyline. She does work with Naugus and is catalyst for the events but she plays a crucial role in his defeat.
  • Villain Team-Up: With Scourge and Naugus, though she turns on him.
  • Was It Really Worth It?: After betraying Sonic and causing everyone else to fall under Naugus's spell, she gets her magic back but she doesn't feel content with it and despite denying it, seems to regret what she did.

Tropes applying to Aria:

  • Adaptational Heroism: Aria is a lot nicer than she was from the source material as she has some positive traits. These are further explored in Freezer Burned, where she even apologizes to Sonata and admits she admires her.
  • Anti-Hero: Like Adagio, type V. Though compared to her, she's more mean than actually evil and has somewhat been integrated with the cast
  • Beta Bitch: When undertaking a villainous role, she acts as this to Adagio.
  • Cannot Spit It Out: Aria has a crush on Shadow, but due to her lack of understanding of human feelings, doesn't know how to express it. When she tries to tell him in Freezer Burned, she faints due to heat and unease.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Even more than Adagio. Due to her attitude, almost every word that comes out of her mouth is an snide insult.
  • Green-Eyed Monster: In Freezer Burned, admits she's jealous of how Sonata is able to adjust so well to being normal.
  • Hazy-Feel Turn: Again, her overall allegiance is difficult to pin, but she's less villainous than Adagio.
  • Hidden Depths: Freezer Burned reveals that underneath her usual attitude, Aria is struggling and frustrated with adjusting to being normal.
  • Laser-Guided Karma: She and her sirens helped take over CHS with their Anarchy Beryl, which gets destroyed later when they undo their brainwashing.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: After she and the others free everyone from their spell, they lose their gems which caused said spell.
  • The Rival: To Rainbow Dash, as the two of them are always arguing and in heated discussions.
  • Ship Tease: She has this with Shadow and its amplified with her crush on him.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: Aria becomes much nicer in this incarnation and does more heroic deeds. In Freezer Burned, she even apologizes to Sonata and even compliments her.
  • What Is This Feeling?: Aria has a crush on Shadow, but due to her being an ages old siren, she doesn't know what it is and is confused by it.

Tropes applying to Sonata:

  • Adaptational Heroism: Like the others, she has this here but gets it the most as she becomes genuinely nice and befriends the main cast.
  • Affably Evil: When she's a villain in one chapter, she's still friendly and nice. Evil is a stretch as she was just more or less following what Adagio and Aria.
  • Cloudcuckoolander: Sonata is extremely ditsy and easily distracted. During Freezer Burned, she doesn't seem to understand the severity of the situation and her suggestion to cool down is that they blow on each other like on food. Shadow even asks how she functions.
  • The Ditz: Sonata's not the brightest bulb in the torch and is kind of lost most of the time. The whole events of Freezer Burned are caused by her nature and she doesn't seem to understand it was her at first.
  • Heel–Face Turn: Unlike her fellow sirens, she actually goes through a full one and is now a nice person.
  • I Just Want to Have Friends: Sonata truly wishes for this and tries to be nice, though because she's an airhead, it backfires until the end of Freezer Burn.
  • Literal-Minded: Sonata doesn't get sarcasm and idioms. She thought the blame game was a real game people played.
  • Nice Girl: Despite being an airhead, Sonata is one of the nicest characters after her Heel–Face Turn and constantly tries to befriend people. It has mixed results to her nature.
  • Oblivious to Love: In Freezer Burned, she doesn't notice Manic's attempts to impress her at first until he stands up for her in the crowd.
  • Opposites Attract: A friendship version with Pinkie. They become close friends and this leads to her total reformation.
  • Sarcasm-Blind: Sonata takes it literally and misses the point of it, much to other peoples frustration.
  • Ship Tease: Has a lot with Manic and it appears that she actually likes him.
  • Took a Level in Kindness: After her brief tenure as a villain (if she can even be called that), Sonata turns over a new leaf and becomes friends with the heroes.
  • Unwitting Instigator of Doom: Woo boy. The entire Freezer Burned story is caused because of her. She ruins Applejack's dinner, which causes the group to go to the restaurant. Then, she switches the bathroom signs after bumping into the Flim Flam Brothers, causing people to head to the freezer. She breaks the handle, which gets everyone trapped inside and later turns up the heat, making things worse. Not to mention, she stole Principal Celestia's giftcard, which causes her to join the angry mob and attack her.

    Principal Celestia and Luna
The Principal and Vice Principal of Canterlot High and are in charge of keeping the school running. With the arrival of the crazy things that happen, they have their hands full.
  • Arbitrary Skepticism: Despite all the magic that occurs at CHS, Celestia finds the idea of an evil scientist kidnapping little animals to be farfetched.
  • Deadpan Snarker: Celestia has her moments such as when confronting Manic about his trip to the pet store.
  • Good Is Not Nice: In general they are nice people, but due to them being in positions of power, they can be this at times such as not letting Sonic participate in the Friendship Games. At first. In Freezer Burned, Luna was strict with Sonata at first.
  • Mama Bear: The two of them care a great deal about their students. When Filthy Rich accuses the group of causing the whole mess in Freezer Burned, the two of them defend them from him.
  • Not So Stoic: Celestia usually has a calm and mature demeanour but this changes in Freezer Burned when she finds out Sonata stole her coupon and joins the mob.
  • Reasonable Authority Figure: They are fair and benevolent to their students most of the time. Luna was going to give Sonic (actually Scourge in disguise) a chance to retake a test he failed before he started to hit on her.
  • Took a Level in Jerkass: The two of them ended up joining the angry mob after Sonata in Freezer Burned. Subverted as the two of them later sincerely apologized to Sonata afterwards.

    Flash Sentry
A guitar player who was once Sunset Shimmer's ex. He's a friend of the group and usually watches things unfold from the sidelines.

  • Big Damn Heroes: In Freezer Burned, he ends up saving the day by opening the freezer before he gets trampled by the incoming crowd.
  • Butt-Monkey: Somewhat. He gets turned into a rock in one chapter and in Freezer Burned, he's caught wearing a ridiculous outfit for the band he plays in, which Pinkie then uploads on to the internet and then he gets trampled when he opens the freezer.
  • Dogged Nice Guy: Is seen as this for Sci-Twi in Legend of Everfree.
  • Expy: His appearance and name are very similar to Sonic's.
