"I... was given Kerry. I said "What you like?". And she said "I don't like print, I don't like color, I would never wear a dress, I would never wear a skirt, I don't like to show my arms and I wear black everyday and a pair of jeans". So I got very scared and I was like "Okay... Because she doesn't like ANYTHING!!"."
"I am not a miracle-worker, lady. I can't make you have an ass."
Genre Blindness: During the penultimate challenge the designers were tasked in making an outfit based on their visit to the history museum. Despite being flat out told by the judges to stop showing them draping, Rami took inspiration from the Greek exhibit, specifically the Grecian draping, rationalizing that how could he not make a draped design when that was placed in front of him. The judges are dumbfounded when his dress walks the runway, and very nearly eliminate him for it.
Mr. Fanservice: We get quite a lot of him hanging around the apartment in a towel and nothing else.
My Greatest Second Chance: Subverted, BIG TIME. He only made it to the middle in All-Stars Season 1.
Straight Gay: If Kevin didn't clarify that he was the only straight male designer in the season, nobody would have guessed about Rami.
Chris March note This contestant died on September 6, 2019 from heart failure
Big Fun: He was always funny in the workroom and full of quirky jokes.
Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Invoked for the Prom dress challenge, where Chris wondered why his client chose him, in spite that his portfolio was full of crazy costumes and no gowns. He turned up doing a beautiful prom dress and, much later after the show, a Red Carpet dress for Meryl Streep.
Signature Laugh: The other designers told it easily zigzagged with Annoying Laugh, because they spent many hours a day hearing him.
Sweet P
Boring, but Practical: Her creations were not the most fashion-forward or avant garde, but were usually the most commercial of any challenge. This ends up leading to her elimination right before the finale, while the other designers all created outfits that were out-of-the-box, her's was a rather simple but very commercially-viable dress, which all the judges found boring (especially guest judge Roberto Cavalli, who outright said he had nothing to say about Sweet P's design).
Foil: When paired with Elisa, she had to be the Straight Girl in the team and constantly got surprised by her quirks (especially the "Spit mark").
Hypocrite: He took Leah (then Elisa's model) and said he didn't care what others may think because it was a competition. When Jack chose to swap and get Leah from Ricky, Ricky then started to say "Everybody is starting to show their true colors" in a reproach tone at the confession cam.
Men Don't Cry: Subverted. He cries in every episode except, ironically, for the one in which he is eliminated.
Victorya Hong
Control Freak: She clearly took control during the team challenge and headbutted often with Ricky, who was made the actual team leader. She only rejected the leader position because she didn't want to take any blame.
Not So Stoic: When Jack left the show, it looked like she was pissed while everyone was tearfully saying goodbye to him. In reality she was pissed off at the production for not suspending the competition to give Jack a time for recovery.
Bromance: Played for laughs at the reunion special, the footage was edited portraying Kevin and Jack as this.
Camp Straight: Played with and joked around, he even had a whole segment of this in the Reunion Episode, including phone conversations with his girlfriend, judges critiques (they once described one of his color palettes as "fruity") and all his interactions with Jack, crowned with shirtless shots of both of them in the apartment.
Tim crowned with "Being in Project Runway didn't turn you gay, nothing will".
Not Distracted by the Sexy: Since he is the only straight guy in the bunch, all the women and the other guys were gushing on camera over how handsome their models were. Kevin has this to say:
Kevin: Everyone of the gay guys in the room was like freaking out. Me, the only straight guy, I was just like "Whatever. Let's move along".
Covert Pervert: In his audition tape, he's checking his drafts of a male model and says "I wish I asked his number", and for the menswear challenge, he was gushing hard on his male model.
Steven: I'm finally understanding what it's like for straight guys when they say "Oh my God! I can't believe you got all these hot chicks standing around in their underwear. Ok. Fine. Should know. You win guys, I get it."
Non-Gameplay Elimination: Made history as the show's first HIV-positive contestant. Then, halfway through the season, he developed a staph infection on his face and had to leave the show for treatment.
